NORWICH CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 14 Judge: Miss D Jenkins BEST OF BREED : 5033 CRAWLEY, Mrs L A & SWEIGART, Ms B & BEALE Ms P Am Ch Ascot Sanspur At Yarrow NORWICH JUDGE CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 14 Norwich Terriers I was very pleased with my principal winners. However a very good entry was depleted by absentees which affected the depth of quality. PD (1) 1 Kell’s Amicaro Whisky Chaser, smart, showy & very outgoing puppy. Pleasant expression however a little flat in skull. Good length of neck, short in upperarm causing him to move wide in front. Good profile movement, excellent topline & tailset. JD (3) 1 Stevenson’s Brickin Early Morning, really liked this youngest. Has an excellent head & typical Norwich expression. Lovely dark eyes, neat ears & excellent bite. Correct length of neck flowing into well laid shoulders. Level topline which he held on the move. Short back with tail on top. Moved true fore & aft with good reach in front & rear propulsion. BP & RCC; 2 Crawley & Stevenson’s Wychcover Moonlighting, this dog was stunning standing. A very handsome, cobby & typical Norwich. Fabulous head & expression, correct bite. Strong neck of correct length. Excellent bone & feet. Short in upper arm causing him to move wide in front. Short back with level topline. Good rear angulation. Excellent coat & presentation. PGD (1) 1 Armstrong & Lawrence’s Elantiz Mr William, strong head, excellent bite, eyes a bit round. Good earset. Front construction could be better which caused him to move wide in front. Good bone & super feet. Moved close behind. Showed & handled well. LD (0). OD (1) 1 Beale, Crawley & Sweigart’s Am Ch Ascot Sanspur at Yarrow, a real showman. Very masculine in excellent coat & condition. Not a typical English Norwich head but he has lovely dark eye & good earset. Excellent mouth. Correct length of neck running into a level topline with good tailset. Short coupled, good spring of rib. Moved true both ways. A really honest dog. Pleased to award him his 3rd CC & BOB. PB (2) 1 Crawley’s Ragus Miss Potter, a difficult class as they were completely different. Such a cutie. A very typical 6 month baby. Chunky with a lovely coat. Moved so well once she got the hang of it. Excellent mouth, darkest of eyes. Straight front & excellent rear. Won over 2 for type; 2 Corhill’s Redash The Merry Widow, a lovely showy youngster who moved & handled really well. For me she didn’t really scream Norwich as she is quite high on the leg, & narrow through her body at the moment. Good coat texture which is coming through well. JB (2) 1 Crawley’s Wicked Witch at Ragus, pleasing bitch who is very mature in body but head & neck need to develop. Lovely dark eye, good earset. Would prefer more fill under her eye. Excellent bite. Good front construction, excellent feet. Level topline, good tailset. Correct rear angulation. Moved well when she decided too!; 2 Haynes’ Alantro First Steps, cobby youngster. Could be stronger in head, a little long in muzzle. Excellent bite. Level topline held on the move. Good tailset. A little short in rib. Difficult to assess movement as she pulls quite a bite. Good coat texture. PGB (2) 1 Kell’s Amicaro Jubilympia, pleasing bitch. Good head with lovely dark eye. Excellent bite. Correct length of neck, well constructed with good front & rear angulation & plenty of bone. Coat was of good texture where it was coming through. Really leaning in on the move so it was quite difficult to assess her movement; 2 Haynes’ Baktwins Amber Diamond, shorter in back than 1. Has good strength in head, but rather round eyes which spoilt her expression. Another excellent bite, good earset. Short back & level topline. Excellent coat in good order. Showed well. LB (3) 1 Chambers’ Rouletta Luck Be A Lady, wow what a super Norwich. Commanded attention as soon as she entered the ring. The loveliest of heads, strong but very feminine. Plenty of width between her ears, dark eyes, scissor bite. Strong arched neck which flowed into well laid shoulders. Straight front & one of only a few with the correct length of upperarm. Well boned with good feet. Short coupled with excellent tailset & rear angulation. She flowed effortlessly around the ring with good front reach & rear propulsion. This bitch never stopped showing & was handled to perfection. It was a pleasure to award her a 2nd CC pushed very hard for BOB; 2 Stevenson’s Paper Chase at Brickin, another very nice Norwich bitch. Not the overall substance of 1, but has a lovely head & expression with excellent bite & dark eyes. Straight front correct length of neck level topline, good rear angulation which she used to advantage as she bounced off all fours around the ring! I’m sure when she can contain her enthusiasm will do very well. Unlucky to meet 1 in such good form. OB (2) 1 Hitchen’s Ch Kreatin Hidden Gem, a seasoned campaigner who I judged as a puppy. A lot to like about her. Feminine head with lovely expression, dark eyes, correct bite & good ear set. Neck a little short due to her being a bit upright in shoulder. Good outline & level topline. Not the movement of the CC winner. Would prefer a little more substance. Produced & showed well. A worthy champion. RCC. DIANE JENKINS |
