I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Norwich here today where I had some quality dogs to cast my eye over, including a number of exciting youngsters for the future.

1. Crawley’s Ragus Jump The Gun. Delightful 6 mth puppy of excellent type and balance who was so good to go over. Compact with strong neck of good length, level topline, rib developing nicely, short loin and tail set on high. Attractive head of correct proportions, dark expressive eye, good ear set and scissor bite. Moving true on the down and back. Good coat texture. Certainly one to watch for the future. Reserve Best Dog.
2. Crawley’s Ragus Jump To It. Litter brother to the winner and another very nice puppy. Balanced in outline with strong neck of good length, short level back, strong loin and tail set on high. Well made throughout with nice straight forelegs and muscular hindquarters with well turned stifles. Quality headpiece with super eye and ear and correct dentition. Moving parallel both fore and aft.
3. Kell’s Ragus All Guns Firing for Amicaro
PGD (3,0)
1. Hayes’ Ragus Fabulous Clown. 19 mth who needs time to mature as he needs to fill out in rib somewhat but he is soundly constructed and moves cleanly both coming and going. Nice length of neck and firm level topline. Nicely proportioned head with dark eye and good ear set. Correct dentition. Good texture to his jacket.
2. Kell’s Ragus All Guns Firing for Amicaro. 6 mth puppy who appealed for his overall type and balance. Attractive head with good eye and ear. Compact with nice short back, level topline, short loin and good tail set. Rib developing well. He could move out more in the rear to advantage.
3. Armstrong & Lawrance’s Elantiz Fire Is Catching
OD (3,1)
1. Crawley & Oddie’s Ch Ragus Hand In Glove. Stunning black & tan who exudes quality and commanded attention the moment he walked into the ring. Masculine headpiece of correct proportions with excellent eye and ear. Compact outline with neck of good length, firm level topline, excellent rib, short loin and nice high tail set. Well constructed throughout with straight well-boned forelegs and muscular hindquarters with good turn of stifle. Moving soundly throughout and with such attitude, using himself to advantage at all times. Harsh jacket and presented in first class order. Best Dog & BOB. Pleased to see him shortlisted in the group.
2. Graves’ Ragus Morning Herald. Showy boy who was rather overshadowed by the winner. Pleasing head of correct proportions with strong muzzle, dark eye and good ear set. Correct dentition. He stands nice and straight in front and has rounded, well-padded feet. Moving nice and parallel in front and with good side gait but not the rear action of the winner.

1. Crawley’s Ragus All The Rage. This 6 mth puppy was rather erratic when she entered the ring but her quality was evident at first glance and she settled as the class went on. She greatly appealed for type and overall balance and upon closer examination she didn’t disappoint. Super headed girl with correct proportions, nice width to skull, dark expressive eyes and good ear set. Soundly made throughout she moves true both coming and going and is surely a great prospect. Reserve Best Bitch and Best Puppy. Delighted to see her take Puppy Group 2.
2. Armstrong & Lawrance’s Elantiz Jabberjay. Another lovely puppy of excellent type. Attractive head with dark eyes of correct shape, good ear set and correct dentition. Nice length of neck, short back and tail set on high. Well made both front and rear with straight forelegs and muscular hindquarters with nice turn of stifle. Moving soundly all through. Good coat texture. Well handled.
3. Armstrong & Lawrance’s Elantiz Mockingjay
PGB (4,1)
1. Armstrong & Lawrance’s Elantiz Jabberjay
2. Armstrong & Lawrance’s Elantiz Mockingjay. This 6 mth puppy stood like a dream but was not as co-operative on the move but she is only a baby and will soon get the hang of things! She is another with lots of promise and pleased for type and balance. Strong neck of good length, short level topline, strong loin and good tail set. Nicely proportioned head with feminine expression; dark eyes and scissor bite. When she got going she moved well in profile.
3. Davies’ Brickin Chocka Moca
OB (1,0)
1. Hitchen’s Ch Kreatin Hidden Extra. Showy girl who is so full of attitude and of excellent type and balance. Feminine headpiece of correct proportions with dark expressive eyes, excellent ear set and good dentition. Neck of good length, short back, level topline, well sprung ribs, short loin and tail set on high. Soundly built with good layback of shoulder, straight forelegs and well-muscled hindquarters. She moves out so well in profile and has particularly strong rear action. Quality coat. Best Bitch.
