NORFOLK WINDSOR 11 Judge: Mr F Kane NORFOLK JUDGE WINDSOR 11 Norfolk Terriers A lovely entry with some very competitive classes & I had some tough decisions. I appreciated the sporting atmosphere & the post judging party & to see exhibitors enjoying their breed together is one of the reasons which I think helps a breed to flourish. V 1 Tomomayo Tiger Bright at Umbrage, almost 11 years & a great credit to the breed, fit, firm & sound. Short & compact, good head proportions, in good coat. MPD 1 Moortop No Choice, super puppy of almost 9 months, small, low to ground, beautiful & excellent quarters, beautiful legs & feet. Could be a little stronger in foreface but full of quality & moved well. BP; 2 Brickin Look Away Now, 8 months, preferred his head to 1 but needs to drop in chest now. Very good quarters. Can settle in front; 3 Settrend Ice And Easy. PD 1 Kinsridge Son Of A Gun, 10 months small dog, rather light in body & rib but had the best shape & movement in the class. Prefer a little more substance for his age. Sound & full of type; 2 Penmore Makori at Strathinver, 11 months, could have won the class had he cooperated with his owner & moved with any collection. Scored in head, bone & rib. Hard to assess his movement; 3 Wharfvalley Gold Nugget. JD 1 Watercroft Hot News, 14 months b/t, top quality, full of type & breed character, cobby, well ribbed, good coat & tailset, good angulation. I liked him enormously; 2 Brickin True To Form, 11 months red, rangier in type & needing more confidence. Good hed proportions, ready for a new coat. YD 1 Nordalset Look Out For Me, 20 months, short & compact. Needs a little more rib & to fill out in front. Scored in front action to win this. Needs a new coat; 2 Wharfvalley Diamond Bright at Moortop, 23 month, more substance than 1 but not the shoulder angulation or neck of 1 & this showed in his front action. Better head than 1; 3 Cracknor Cut A Caper. PGD 1 Arderry Sky Rocket, appealed for size & lowness to ground yet still free in action. Strong skull, ears a touch heavy. Good coat & good carriage; 2 Umbrage Ironstone, bigger dog, a little longer for balance. Could be a little stronger in foreface & not the front action of1. LD Good class. 1 Vichea Pick Pocket, very typy & really strode out round the ring. Small, compact, good rib & coat. I liked him immensely. Not big but all in proportion & beautiful type & balance. CC & BOB; 2 Jaeva Well I’ll Be Darned at Nordalset, similar in size & type but not the width in quarters of 1. Quality in head & full of type; 3 Wharfvalley Diamond Star. OD Good class. 1 Belleville Lord Angel, b/t, full of quality & a very good mover when he settled. Scored in body & coat over 2. Threw his chances away in the challenge, just too full of himself & had to settle for RCC; 2 Ch Kinsridge Top Gun, liked the size & shape of this dog but he needed a little more coat on him. Great type & moved well. Would like to see him in top form; 3 Bagatelle Chapter And Verse. MPB 1 Kapitada Sweetness ‘N’ Light, 6 months, beautiful type, low to ground, well ribbed & very good quarters. Needs time to finish in head; 2 Brickin True Gem, 8 months b/t, good lines. A little longer than 1 but scored in head. At the moment a little soft in coat. Very good outline. Pressed hard & will do well; 3 Bowanne Michelmas Rose. PB 1 Kinsridge Gung Ho, 10 months, very typy & smart on the move. Needs to fill out in body but has great type & quality & carries herself well on the move. BPB; 2 Strathinver Superstitious, good bodied bitch of 10 months, more substance than 1 but not the front legs or feet or neck of 1. A little weak in foreface; 3 Raven Beauty. JB Excellent class. 1 Villassa All Gold, 12 months, beautiful type & holds her topline on the move. Feminine head, well boned throughout, in good coat; 2 Jaeva Comoft And Joy, beautiful head & a very good mover. Just losing her topline going round & not as good in tailset as 1. Looked the teenager & needs to fill her frame now; 3 Belleville Cherry Red. YB 1 Belleville Silk Stockings, 15 months, cobby & compact. I would like a stronger head but scored in rib here; 2 Nordalset Love You Madly; 3 Kinsridge Sweet Betty. PGB 1 Ruffles’ Ruffnor Offbeat, despite her rather tight tail carriage I liked her immensely for type & soundness. Scored in head, topline & feet; 2 Howard’s Hatchwoods Flamenco, good substance. Better tail than 1 but preferred head of 1. Moves well. Feet could be stronger; 3 Hess & Higgins’ Umbrage Sparch Grove. LB Class full of quality. 1 Britten’s Kinsridge Maid In Manhattan for Krisma, quite beautiful to go over on the table & one of the best heads of the day. Strength of foreface, brimful of type, lovely legs & feet, very good movement. Almost threw her chances away by being stubborn & in the challenge was even more so & that decided the issue. RCC; 2 Phillips’ Blakens Dolly Mixture, b/t, lovely type, very good movement. A touch longer than 1 & not quite as good in head but I liked her a lot; 3 Devereux’s Vichea Dot And Carry. OB 1 Cooper’s Ch Settrenda Saucy Sox, very showy, good head, short back, good outline held on the move, in good coat, full of quality. A touch loose in front but her showmanship & carriage took her to CC; 2 Hurrion’s Valentines Cherry Crumble, feminine quality bitch, good coat. A little narrow in front & not the quarters of 1; 3 Mitchell’s Richell Show Off. FRANK KANE |
