NORFOLK JUDGE WINDSOR 10

Norfolk Terriers

I think the breed is going through the doldrums at the moment. Very, very few had the lovely heads that we have had in the past & length of back seems to be accepted as the norm when our Standard clearly asks for short.

PD (7,3a)

1 Phillip’s Nordalset Look Out For Me, smart wheaten of 8 months, well grown, good head & expression, dark eye & good earset. Rangy. Good bone, straight front legs & excellent well padded feet, moved well once settled;

2 Atkinson’s Wharfvalley Diamond Bright at Moortop, 11 months, very typy with excellent harsh red coat, head OK, fabulous scissor bite. Ears little on large size. Moved steadily like true pro. Would prefer better tailset. Longer cast than 1;

3 Wilding’s Zameer Jokers Wild.

JD (4,1)

1 Phillip’s Jaeva Well I’ll Be Darned at Nordalset, handsome b/t of nearly 12 months, very typy, lovely head & expression with small dark eyes, mouth OK, short in back, good bone. Heavy over shoulders, could lose couple of pounds, moved wide in front;

2 Hess & Higgin’s Umbrage Ironstone, not confidence of 1. Good head & expression with fabulous scissor bite, harsh coat, medium length neck. Little long in loin. Moved OK when settled;

3 Stone’s Cerasus The Jazz Singer.

PGD (3)

1 Ruffle’s Ruffnor Kriss Kross, very smart & active, strong head. Could be little shorter in muzzle. Small dark eye, neat ears, good length neck, short coupled, level topline held on move, moves well in profile with rear drive & front extension. Little close when viewed from rear. Correct size. RCC;

2 Rayner’s Mstease Makin Mayhem, chunky b/t. Could do with some of 1’s get up & go. Nothing to dislike, lovely head & expression. Little short in neck. Short coupled & moves well, very well trimmed & handled;

3 Water’s Southpoint Dante’s Inferno.

LD (1)

1 Stevenson’s Penwire Wild Bramble by Brickin, chunky with plenty of substance, strong head with good stop, dark eye & scissor bite, neck OK, level topline held on move. Moved well in profile but tends to lean towards handler. Harsh coat in lovely condition, showed well. CC & BOB.

OD (5,1)

1 Mitchell’s Roxway Direct Line, well balanced, harsh red coat, good head. Could be shorter in muzzle. Good scissor bite, dark eye, moves well in front. Rather straight behind causing stilted action. Always puts all in for handler, pressed hard for RCC;

2 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Blacklace, attractive with lovely outline, super head & expression with small dark eyes. Could be more masculine, excellent length neck running into short back, good tailset, moved OK. Not showing at his best;

3 Lloyd’s Orison Bootlace.

V (3)

1 Smith’s Richell Cognac Brandy, very handsome chap, 7 years, good head & expression, short backed & stocky, moved with drive & purpose, well trimmed & showed to perfection;

2 Hess & Higgin’s Tomomayo Tiger Bright at Umbrage, lovely red bitch, almost 10 years, not showing age at all, short & chunky, moved & showed well. Not coat of 1;

3 Wilson’s Sheltrice Dash Of Magic.

PB (5,2)

1 Hitchin’s Kreatin Kiss’N’Tell, quality red, almost 12 months. Well up to size. Good width of skull. Long in muzzle. Dark eye & excellent mouth, covered ground well, lovely coat & condition. Would prefer shorter coupled;

2 Green’s Wharfvalley Diamond Diva, delightful with excellent coat. Completely different type to 1. Head OK. Could have more stop & ears look little large. Level topline, moved OK;

3 Donnachie’s Jenks Truly Scrumptious.

JB (7,3)

1 Ruffles’ Ruffnor Off The Peg, beautifully bodied, good width of skull. Could be shorter in foreface. Lovely dark eye & expression, neat ears, excellent length neck running into well laid shoulders, super outline standing & held on move, moves with drive & purpose;

2 Smith’s Richell Play Off, another lovely youngster. Heavier type 1. Attractive head & expression. Little longer cast than 1. Showed well, good coat & condition, moved & handled well;

3 J Truly Scrumptious.

PGB (8)

1 Ruffles’ Ruffnor Offbeat, litter sister to winner of JB, another very eyecatching with good head & expression, lovely length neck, short coupled, moved well;

2 Cooper’s Settrenda Saucy Sox, quality with pleasing head & expression, good breed type, cobby & well boned. Out of coat. Not topline of 1;

3 Stevenson’s Brickins Neat And Tidy.

LB (5,1)

1 Mitchell’s Richell Show Off, another quality Norfolk from this kennel, fabulous head & expression, good stop & strong muzzle, strong neck of good length, moved with drive & covered ground with ease, best mover of the day, never stopped showing. Could be little shorter;

2 Hurrion’s Valentines Cherry Crumble, superb, compact bitch with good head & expression, neat ears, moved & showed well. Seemed little stuffy, carrying little too much weight;

3 Bettesworth’s Kapitada Daisychain.

OB (7,1)

1 Matell’s Cracknor Custom Made, top quality Norfolk, stamped Norfolk through & through, best of heads with wicked little eye, superb arched neck, short coupled, well sprung ribs, shoulders well laid, moves correctly with drive & purpose, really lovely mature bitch with excellent jacket. Furnishings would have been icing on the cake. BCC, pushed hard for BOB;

2 Claydon’s Brymarden Copper Kettle active little bitch, lovely rich red coat, good head, looked like could go all day;

3 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Red Dawn.
