NORFOLK JUDGE WELSH KENNEL CLUB 15

Norfolk Terriers

My thanks to the WKC for inviting me to judge Norfolks for the first time with CCs & also the exhibitors for a lovely entry.

MPD (3,2a)

1 Hamar & Ward’s Gorden’s Boy, just 7 months, pleasing head, correct bite, nicely laid shoulders, bodying up well, coat good. Just needs to improve on movement.

PD (0).

JD (2) 1 Jenkins’ Kinsridge Back Chat, liked his shape & size, so outgoing, lovely head & expression, nicely ribbed, well set tail with good width behind best of coats. A happy moving dog with drive;

2 Atkinson’s Moortop Marks Delivery, liked this one as well but not so outgoing as 1. Dark eyes, neat ears, nice movement front & rear, coat coming well.

PGD (1)

1 Simpson’s Umbrage Longton cum Megalex, pleasing in head & expression, correct front assembly, good spring of rib, level topline to well set tail, pleasing on the move.

LD (2)

1 Atkinson’s Blakens I Look At You, nice compact dog, strong muzzle, dark eyes, strong neck, well boned, straight front legs, well muscled hindquarters, neat feet, good coat texture, moving well both ways;

2 Darnell’s Jacquidon Tough As A Nut, broad skull with well set ears, alert expression, good in front & rear assembly, well muscled, short back, carried tail well. For me I would like to see him trimmed more to give a better picture.

OD (4,1)

1 Phillips’ Ch Blakens Pay Back, fits the Standard well, short & compact, best of heads, neck flows into short back to well set tail, well ribbed hindquarters, well made & strong well presented, moved true both ways & in profile. Pleased to give him the CC;

2 Thompson-Morgan’s Villassa Crumble’s Gold, another quality one to go over. Pleasing to the eye, correct head proportions, well bodied & presented, showing & moving well. One for top honours but today had to settle for RCC;

3 Gee’s Watercroft In A Pickle.

VB (1)

1 Owen’s Penmore Lilac, 9 years old & enjoying her day out. Still has the correct coat texture, happy on the move. MPB (3) 1 Gee’s Watercroft Pop Picker, 8 months, very lovely youngster developing well in head & body. Dark eyes, good dentition, harsh coat, good feet, moving well both ways;

2 Jenkins’ Watercroft T’smaid at Kinsridge, another promising one at her first show. Lovely expression, bodying up well, good bone & coat. When settled she moved well. Will watch these two with interest;

3 Botterill’s Supersense Red Saffron.

PB (4,2)

1 Gullick & Tate’s Orison Midnight Dreamer at Jaeva, a promising one, typical head & keen expression, short back, pleasing in body, good tailset & carriage, moving well. BP;

2 Devereux’s Vichea Heavens Above, another pleasing youngster, liked her overall shape, maturing well. Good on the move.

JB (7,2)

A mixed class.

1 Gullick & Tate’s Jaeva Hells Fire, nicely balanced & showy bitch. Very good in head, neck, body, front & rear angulation. In correct coat, moved true. Considered for RCC;

2 Darnell’s Jacquidon Next Sensation, nice head with dark eyes, strong jaw, correct bite, good in front & rear movement & coat;

3 Atkinson’s Moortop Just The One.

PGB (3,1)

1 Simpson’s Megalex Well I Never, nice for size, shoulders well laid, well ribbed, strong hindquarters, good feet & movement both ways;

2 Macartney’s Nordalset Little Bit Of Sun for Ivrig, typical expression, short back, well made hindquarters, harsh coat. For me I would like her a bit slimmer.

LB (4,2)

1 Phillips’ Nordalset Truly Madly, won this class on her movement. Correct shoulder placement, well boned, front legs, nicely bodied, short level back, tailset & carriage good, moving well round the ring;

2 Devereux’s Vichea Little Gem, nice type, put down well, good head & ears & body, looked good on the move.

OB (2)

1 Jenkins’ Ch Kinsridge Top Tip, well balanced of good breed type, lovely head & expression, strong neck, well bodied, short back, tailset & carriage spot on, good feet, well presented. Moved with reach & drive, never stopped showing. Pleased to award her CC & BOB;

2 Gee’s Watercroft Top Tia, another lovely bitch for shape & size, typical head, well made front & rear angles, in harsh coat, moved well. Just not the showmanship of 1 but deserved RCC.
