NORFOLK WELSH KENNEL CLUB 14 Judge: Mrs Arja Koskelo (Finland) BEST OF BREED : 5007 THOMPSON-MORGAN Mrs C S Ch Belleville Seduction NORFOLK JUDGE WELSH KENNEL CLUB 14 Norfolk Terriers Thanks for a lovely entry of some really nice dogs. This was my first judging appointment in GB for Norfolks, which is one of my own three breeds (besides Cockers & Portuguese Waterdogs) & I felt very honoured to judge at this show. There were some lovely dogs, but unfortunately also disappointingly many wrong mouths, poor front movements & big eyes spoiling the keen expression. Yet I was very happy with all my CC & RCC winners, lovely typy Norfolks with lively characters, good movers & correct constructions. MPD (1) 1 Owens’ Brickin Wild Affair, strong & masculine dog, lovely coat quality, correct quarters, correct ears, slightly long in back, needs straighter front, suspected bite. PD (5,1a) 1 Jenkins’ Krisma Flashback to Kinsridge, lovely type, head & expression. Correct ears. Excellent body proportions, moved well; 2 Devereux’s Vichea Storm Trooper, nice head, good ears, correct overall proportions, needs to balance in front movement, carrying some extra weight; 3 Moundfield’s Arderry Son Of A Gun. JD (2) 1 Atkinson’s Blakens I Look To You, a lovely young b/t dog to handle, masculine overall, lovely head, harsh coat, very correct construction, correct overall proportions, firm well developed body, good tail, good mover, excellent overall balance. All he needs is some more ring training. RCC; 2 Gee’s Watercroft In A Pickle, nice outline, good head, coat in tip top show condition, good tail, needs to strengthen in backend, carrying a little too much weight. PGD (3) 1 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Roll Call, not a big dog, masculine enough, lovely head, excels in outline & great movement, correctly built all over, harsh coat put in tip top condition, good tail; 2 Simpson’s Umbrage Longton Cum Megalex, nice head shape but rather big eyes, good eye colour, correct ears, easy mover; 3 Atkinson’s Blakens Sugar Candy Dips. LD (2) 1 Phillips’ Blakens The Kandy Man Kan, very typy Norfolk with correct construction & proportions, excels in topline & carriage, light in bone, moves well keeping the correct topline; 2 Green’s Wharfvalley Gold Nugget, lovely head, correct broad skull, strong muzzle, correct ears, strong bone. Rather long in loin & would like to see a better topline. OD (3,1) 1 Thompson-Morgan’s Ch Belleville Seduction, very attractive dog, masculine, nice head, lovely shape of eye with keen expression & dark eye, lovely topline, harsh coat. Excels in movement, so easy mover & yet really using his powerful hocks & kept his beautiful topline to perfection. Excellent shape of ribcage, very correctly built all over with excellent quarters & lovely broad upper thigh. Carried himself like a winner. Very clear decision to award him the CC & later a harder decision for BOB; 2 Jenkins’ Kinsridge Quids In, very nice & well built dog, lovely shape of head though a little too big & lightish eye. Excellent strong bone. correct proportions, best of tails. Moved well, happy character. A little short in coat on the day. MPB (4,2) 1 Devereux’s Vichea Little Gem, 7 months little girl, red, very feminine, good forechest for her age, lovely head excellent stop, well built body & quarters, balanced all over, in puppy coat; 2 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Magic Spell, just 6 months baby, very playful & happy feminine bitch pup, excels in great neckline &outline. Excellent quarters, good mover, enjoying her life, in puppy coat. Strong well developed body for her young 10 months of age. Needs better tail carriage; 3 Gee’s Watercroft Top Tipple. JB (3) 1 Hurrion’s Villassa Star Turn, lovely headed red bitch of correct size, good bone, needs to get harsher in coat, good ears, excellent hindquarters, excellent broad upper thigh, in tip top show condition, moved well. RCC; 2 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Summer Crunch, red, excels in topline, rear & side movement, correct proportions, lovely outline, needs some stronger bone, good coat & show condition. Happy little lady; 3 Gardener’s Perrisblu Liberty at Danalas. Correct quarters. OB (4,1) 1 Thompson-Morgan’s Ch Belleville Just Magic, Wow what a cracker, took the whole ring when entering with her great character & movement. Nice head of correct shape, ears & expression. Perfect outline, feminine, moved like a dream really using her short hocks, excellent quarters, correct shape & length of ribcage, good tail.
