WELKS 25 Judge

NORFOLK WELKS 25 Judge: Mark Walshaw I was looking for a small compact well made dog, with ample bone and a good jacket. There were plenty of examples within the entry. The temperaments were excellent and I appreciate the exhibitors for presenting them in fine fettle. There are some lovely puppies following through. The grass was not beneficial to the Norfolk today, rather long which affected and exaggerated movement in a lot of cases today. 124. Norfolk Terrier - Minor Puppy Dog Entries: 2 Absentees: 1 1ST 363 - Kinsridge Cookie Monster (Miss D Jenkins) . A well made B&T to start. Just 8mths, pleased in head and good through neck. Well off for bone, balance and substance. Tidy in front and a clean topline. Well angled rear. Moved cleanly all ways and he was sporting a thick colourful jacket. 125. Norfolk Terrier - Puppy Dog Entries: 2 Absentees: 0 1ST 355 - Watercroft Goldfinch (Mrs R Gee) . A very smart wheaten, who fits the bill nicely. Compact, balanced and of good type. Hes got a breed typical head, ample neck, well placed shoulders and front assembly. Good ribbing and bone. Showed well for his handler, moving steadily and covering the ground. His jacket was perfectly presented, with excellent colour and texture.im sure he will hit the top. BP & RCC.also noted that he later picked up a 3rd in terrier puppy group. 2ND 361 - Umbrage July in Paris (Mr A & Mr J Hess & Higgins). One of good type. Little longer cast the winner. Had a typical head and was ok for bone. Not sporting his best jacket today.
127. Norfolk Terrier - Yearling Dog Entries: 2 Absentees: 0 1ST 354 - Watercroft Easy Tiger (Mrs R Gee) . I loved this young fellar. Everything I was looking for and more. Already at this age he has a ring prescence and you are drawn to him every time, whilst stacked or whilst on the move. So typical of the breed. Loved his head, dentition, sparkling eye, neatly placed ear and his keen expression. Hes cobby, balanced, masculine and has good substance and bone. Well angled throughout and sporting a superb hard jacket, which was well presented. Moved tidily and true. A straight tail would finish the 'perfect' outline. Delighted to hear that this was the youngsters 3rd, I am sure many more will follow. Also nice to see him placed in the group ring. 2ND 379 - Belleville Hope Alert (Mrs C S Thompson-Morgan).
