NORFOLK WELKS 15 Judge(s): MR DAVID WINSLEY DO YOU WISH THAT THE KENNEL CLUB WOULD PUT IT'S OWN HOUSE IN ORDER? Is It Acceptable To Award BIS To A Dog That Refuses To Be Examined?read more PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION ABOVE. IF YOU HAVE ANY CONCERNS USE AN ALTERNATIVE NAME. Norfolk Terriers My thanks to the society for inviting me to judge, to my two efficient stewards & finally to the exhibitors for their pleasing entry. There seems to be much a stronger quality in the males compared to the females. I still found a number of ‘toyish’ ones who lacked bone & substance, also quite a few round bold eyes. On the positive side movement in most is undoubtedly sound, coat are of good quality & presentation in general was very good. When I first awarded CCs in this breed I awarded Ch Kinsridge Cash Back a CC, I was pleased to see he is the sire of the DCC, RCC and BP, a good dog breeds on! PD (5) 1 Jenkin’s Kinsridge Back Chat, red mature & smart youngster with lots of promise, I liked his head having a good width to the skull, well placed ears, correct proportions, defined stop & correct eye. Good neck, nice shoulder angulation with a straight front & good feet. Short backed, good spring of rib, tailset on well & nice angulation. Sound gassy mover, in a quality coat & well presented. BP; 2 Atkinson’s Moortop Mark Delivery, not quite the head of 1 & his eye a little round in shape. Nice front, forechest & well sprung body. Good turn of stifle, strongly made behind which showed in his sound movement, tailset on well. In good coat & condition; 3 Gee’s Watercroft Coin A Phrase. JD (3) 1 Phillip’s Blakens Pay Back, I just loved this youngster, so mature, balanced & finished. Has the type of head I like, good width of skull, well placed ears, good stop, correct eye & expression. Good length of neck, clean well angulated shoulders, straight front with lovely feet & a good forechest. Cobby body with a good spring of rib, low to ground, level topline & tailset on well. Strong behind, good turn of stifle, moved soundly with plenty of drive. showed none stop, in good coat & preparation first class. Couldn’t deny him the CC, his second & I’m sure his third won’t be long in coming. Well handled to win the BOB; 2 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Scintillation, unfortunate for this black & tan to meet the winner. He has a very nice head, well placed ears, good eye, I would have liked a little more fullness to his muzzle. Good in neck & shoulders, very straight front with good bone. Another one with a cobby body, good spring of rib, low to ground & level topline. Correct turn of stifle, good width behind & correct tailset. Very sound mover, in pleasing coat & nicely presented; 3 Devereux’s Vichea Storm Trooper. PGD (1) A LD (5) 1 Jenkins’ Krisma Flashback to Kinsridge, this red was close up to the CC winner, he too has a nice head. Masculine outlook, well filled muzzle, well placed ears & correct eye. Good reach of neck, clean shoulders, lovely straight front & nice bone. Nicely balanced outline, liked his body shape, low to ground with a good spring of rib. Nice turn of stifle & good width to his hindquarters, tailset on well. Moved with drive & purpose, another from this kennel in good coat & condition, showed confidently; 2 Gee’s Watercroft In A Pickle, this red dog is very pleasing all through, nice head but would just prefer more strength to his muzzle. Good neck & shoulders, straight in front, balanced body with a nice spring of rib. Well made & strong hindquarters which he knows how to use, good tailset. In nice coat, condition & presentation; 3 Darnell’s Jacquidon Tough As A Nut. OD (3) 1 Thompson-Morgan’s Ch Belleville Seduction, well known black and tan male, smartly made throughout. He has a pleasing head but not quite the expression I would have liked. Good neck & shoulders with a straight front. Well made body, short enough & ribs well sprung. Strong hindquarters which gives him that effortless sound movement. In a good quality coat & showed well; 2 Phillip’s Ch Blakens Kandy Man Kan, this red was close up to 1, liked his head better. Just lacking a bit of neck for a better balance, good clean shoulders & straight front. Cobby body type, low to ground & nicely made hindquarters. Level topline, good tailset & in lovely coat; 3 Newton’s Strathinver Smart Enough. PB (7,2a) 1 Hitchen’s Kinsridge Lil Black Number for Kreatin, b/t, quite a confident youngster. Pleasing head type, nicely placed ears, dark eye & correct proportions. She has enough neck, could have better shoulder angulation. Straight front but not settled when moving toward me. Cobby body type, well made hindquarters & good tail set. In good coat & condition, moved well behind & showed well; 2 Atkinson’s Moortop Just The One, red who needs more strength to her head, well placed ears but eye a little round for me. Nice neck & shoulders, front straight & a pleasing body. Strong hindquarters & sound mover, in lovely coat & condition; 3 Owen’s Brickin Happy Dance. JB (7,3) 1 Darnell’s Jacquidon Sensation, nicely balanced b/t of a good size. Pleasing in head with well placed ears, nice dark eye & some strength of muzzle. Good length of neck, clean angulated shoulders & straight front. Well ribbed cobby body, well muscled hindquarters & correct tail set. In a nice coat & condition, moved with purpose around the ring, a useful girl; 2 Devereux’s Vichea Little Gem, younger girl with a pretty head, well defined stop, nice eye & good width of muzzle. Good neck & nice layback of shoulder, straight in front. Nicely balanced body, low to ground with strong hindquarters. In good coat, did disappoint me in front movement, but moved well behind; 3 Thompson-Morgan’s Allright Black Bess. PGB (2) 1 Cooper’s Settrenda Sweet N Tiddly, pretty girl of a nice size, liked her head. Good width of skull, well placed ears & nice dark eye. Good neck & straight front. Short cobby body & strongly made behind. Coat okay but would benefit from more attention. Moved & showed well enough to win this class; 2 Gardener’s Perrisblu Liberty at Danalas, not quite the head of 1, being a little bolder in eye. Good neck, shoulders & front. Slightly longer cast in body than the winner. She has good strong hindquarters which she can used well. In a good quality coat & showed well. LB (6,4) 1 Gee’s Watercroft Top Tipple, nice head with a good width of skull, well placed ears & nice eye, pleasing expression. Good length of neck & well angulated shoulders. Straight front, short backed with a good spring of rib, low to ground. Good turn of stifle, short hock & nice width behind. In good coat & condition, moving & showing very well; 2 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Summer Crunch, close decision between these two girls. She too has a very nice head, good width of skull & well defined stop. Good neck, clean through her shoulders with a straight front. Well ribbed body, nicely balanced shape. Nice tight harsh coat, moved well behind but not so positive in front today. I am sure these girls will change places often. OB (3,1) 1 Jenkin’s Ch Kinsridge Top Tip, what a star, couldn’t stop looking at her when she first came into the ring. Beautifully balanced shape, level topline & tail well set on. Lovely head with good width in skull, ears well set, nice oval dark eye, definite stop with a well filled muzzle. Good neck that blends well into her topline, correct in shoulder with a straight front. Low to ground, short backed cobby body & best of hindquarters, moving so soundly both ways. In wonderful coat & condition, a showy madam, no hesitation in awarding her the CC; 2 Gee’s Watercroft Top Tia, nice type of head, good width of skull & well placed ears. Good dark eye & stop. Nice neck & shoulder, good front. Short cobby body, very nice hindquarters with short hocks. Correct tailset, nice tight harsh coat & moved well both ways, won the RCC on maturity. DAVID WINSLEY |
