NORFOLK THREE COUNTIES 11 Judge: Mrs C M Howard NORFOLK JUDGE THREE COUNTIES 11 Norfolk Terriers Some very promising puppies. 1 Atkinson’s Moortop No Choice, 8 months, very well presented red in excellent harsh red coat, good head, strong teeth with correct scissor bite, neat ears, dark eye giving lovely expression, good bone & well balanced, just a tad longer than bitch in puppy challenge. Moved with plenty of drive, should have bright future; 2 Green’s Wharfvalley Gold Nugget, 8 months, typy Norfolk, beautiful head & expression with dark eye, good mouth & width between carried held ears, level topline, good tail carriage, harsh coat just coming through. Still immature & needs to learn some table manners; 3 Stevenson’s Brickin Wayward Affair. JD (1) 1 Gee’s Watercroft Hot News, b/t, lovely outline & splendid upright tail, smart little dog. Happy expression with dark eye & short muzzle but bite could be better. Short back & chunky & very well turned out. PGD (6) 1 Mounfield’s Arderry Sky Rocket, well presented dog of the right size, looking good in outline, decent length of neck to good shoulder, straight front, level topline, short back, erect tail carriage, charming head, expressive eyes, good mouth, well held ears, nicely bodied, good turn of stifle, moved well; 2 Hess & Higgins’ Umbrage Ironstone, put in an excellent performance, really covering ground, well turned out in harsh coat, masculine red, strongly made with plenty of bone, perhaps a bit on the large side. Strong muzzle with big teeth with scissor bite, well carried ears, level topline, straight upright tail carriage held proudly when moving 3 Philip’s Nordalset Look Out For Me. LD (4) 1 Matell’s Cantab Winning Ways of Cracknor, elegant red harsh coated stylish dog, well constructed, good angulation, pleasure to go over, beautiful head & expression, correct mouth & dark eye, lovely reach of neck flowed into well laid shoulders, good ribcage, level topline, upright tailset, has enough substance, moves well fore & aft, lovely outline when freely striding out with plenty of propulsion from rearend. Won CC & BOB on movement; 2 Stevenson’s Brickin Better Be Good, in gorgeous dark red harsh coat, most attractive dog with good head, good width of skull & well held ears, very dark eye. Good mouth with excellent bite, as are all shown from this kennel. Short back, good depth of brisket level topline & ideal upright tail carriage, moved very well, close up to 1; 3 Atkinson’s Wharfvalley Diamond Bright at Moortop. OD (4) 1 Jenkins’ Ch Kinsridge Top Gun, what a character, in the class he didn’t put a foot wrong but went totally on strike in grass ring in challenge, so had to be content with RCC, a nightmare for owner as he is gorgeous, if he wants to be, & later in the afternoon decided to behave & went on to win the ch stakes inside. Little rascal but you have to move to win. Physically is lovely, not too big, in super coat, beautiful head with short muzzle, dark eye, neat well carried ears, reach of neck flowing down to short back & splendid upright tail & can move very well, if he decides to. Needs huge tact from owner to get the best out of him but Norfolks are personalities not automatons. RCC; 2 Smith’s Javidel Come What May, best performance in class, totally true coming & going & in complete harmony with owner. Nice type of dog, good head, lovely eye & expression, well held ears & correct mouth, level topline with jaunty upright tail, very well presented & handled; 3 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Lord Angel. PB (6) 2 very attractive puppies. 1 Jenkins’ Kinsridge Gung Ho, at 91/2 months very feminine neat little bitch, lovely outline, sweet expression with very dark eye, mouth OK, good length of neck leading to very short back making compact picture, moved with joy really using herself, very alert & on her toes but a bit toyish. Coat rather on the blow. BP; 2 Hurrion’s Villassa All Gold, almost a year old, just a shade longer in back but in better coat than 1, hers was harsh, red & close fitting. Lovely puppy, good head, dark eye, good bite, charming expression, well laid shoulders, nicely bodied up, level topline, good straight tail, moved well. JB (5) 1 Gee’s Watercroft Hot Love, compact red, looked very good in profile of the right size, good head, short muzzle, good dark eye, decent neck, enough substance, good bend of stifle, level topline with straight upright tail carriage, moved true & happily, very attractive little bitch; 2 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Cherry Red, slightly larger in size than 1, very alert & on her toes, appealing head with dark eye & kind expression, good bite, well laid shoulders, straight front legs, good turn of ribs, level topline, good tail, moved with plenty of drive, very responsive to handler, liked her a lot. 3 Philips’ Nordalset Luv You Madly. PGB (1) 1 Hess & Higgins’ Umbrage Sparch Grove, red in good harsh coat. Little bit long cast. Good depth of body, level topline with good tailset, sweet head & expression, well carried ears, dark eye, strong muzzle with good bite, moved steadily. LB (7) Hotly contested class with some really nice bitches. 1 Britten’s Kinsridge Maid In Manhattan for Krisma, beautiful compact little bitch skilfully presented, caught my eye as she came into the ring, fairly gliding round so smoothly. Pretty head though dark eye a bit full. Very neat ears, short muzzle with good teeth, lovely reach of neck, short back, straight forelegs with cat feet, good bend of stifle, plenty of drive, very good rear end finished with excellent tail carriage so looked good coming & going. Deserves crowning CC; 2 Phillips’ Blakens Dolly Mixture, quality b/t of substance without coarseness, sweet expression, good mouth & dark eye, very smartly turned out & moved happily in harmony with owner; 3 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Silk Stockings. OB (4) 1 Cooper’s Ch Settrenda Saucy Sox, mature red, compact with substance of lovely proportions, harsh coat in great bloom, moved absolutely true with plenty of style. Good head with perhaps slightly round eye but excellent bite & well carried ears. Her one fault is that curly tail which could not be disguised, which would not have been noticed in the days of docking but everything else makes her outstanding; 2 Mitchell’s Richell Show Off, quality bitch slightly longer cast than 1 & softer coat but really moved beautifully as she strode round the ring. Attractive head with well carried ears & dark eye, slightly long in muzzle but has excellent strong teeth with correct scissor bite. Lovely crest of neck, good lay of shoulders, level topline & perfect upright tail to end with, happily responding to handler. CHERRY HOWARD |
