NORFOLK SKC MAY 12 Judge(s) MISS J MOYES DCC JAEVA MADE IN GOLD (MRS B, MR A & MRS S PHILLIPS & GULLICK & WILDING) Norfolk Terriers PD (1) 1 Phillips’ Blakens Xpress Yourself, happy chap who showed himself off very well, moved with purpose, liked him for size, strength of bone & a lovely masculine head, in lovely condition. JD (3) 1 Phillips, Gullick & Wilding’s Jaeva Made In Gold, immaculate! Not a hair out of place, he looked stunning, presents the perfect outline, super conditioning to body, good strong legs & well padded feet, loved his head, masculine with good width to skull, balance to muzzle, melting dark eyes, neat well set ears, moved with ease, at one with his handler. A real pleasure to judge him. CC & BOB; 2 Smith’s Javidel May Just Have To Do, a tidy terrier, moved out well, well presented in coat & condition. Preferred the head of 1; 3 Gee’s Watercroft Royal Applause. LD (5) A class of good type. 1 Atkinson’s Moortop No Choice, won on his size & balance, good head, kind eye & neat ears, well presented, coat in good order, went well for his owner; 2 Hurrion’s Villassa Done Deal, smart dog, handsome head, alert expression, neat ears finishing off the picture, carries good body condition with good bone, held a better topline than 3. Moving well; 3 Green’s Wharfvalley Gold Nugget. OD (2) 1 Thompson-Morgan’s Ch Belleville Burning Passion, not surprised to see this young chap is already a ch. Lovely for size, good head well set on arched neck, good lay of shoulder, strong straight legs, small neat & sound feet, good topline, excellent rearquarters which highlighted his powerful movement, super coat & condition. Just preferred head of J Made In Gold. RCC; 2 Atkinson’s Wharfvalley Diamond Bright at Moortop, not on his best form, I have seen him perform better. I liked what I saw but he threw his chances away in this competition. PB (3) 1 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Honey Nut Crunch, I loved her, considered her for the CC but she didn’t perform as she had in this class, but I’m sure many will come her way. Lovely head with adorable expression, good neck & forequarters, level topline, powerful well balanced rear, gorgeous jacket in super condition, moved so well. RCC & BP, remember awarding her father the very same awards last time I judged the breed; 2 Riley’s Millstrand Melting Hearts, tough act to follow, but she did not disappoint, moves so well & with confidence for one so young. A little lighter in bone & not as mature as 1, but has the qualities that I have mentioned in my previous winners. I note that OD winner & these two pups are sired by B Blacklace; 3 Phillips’ Blakens Starlight Xpress. JB (0). LB (2) Hotly contested class, two quality bitches. 1 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Silk Slippers, just preferred 1, forequarters, very stylish in pose & movement, in excellent condition. Lost out to her younger kennelmate in the challenge, whose head I admired; 2 Green’s Wharfvalley Diamond Diva, very sound moving bitch, lovely rear angulation giving drive. Very well presented in good coat & condition. OB (2) 1 Hurrion & Davies’ Villassa All Gold, smart cobby bitch, standing foursquare, showing her socks off for her handler, attractive feminine head, neat ears & dark eye with keen expression, good length of neck arching into well laid shoulders, short back holding topline level, good angulation to rearquarters allowing free driving movement, excellent presentation, she looked a picture. In the challenge she did not put a paw wrong so could not be denied. CC; 2 Gee’s Watercroft Hot Love, smart looking terrier who had many qualities that I like but handler seemed to keep moving her away. I know you have to keep them moving to keep their attention but try to bring them back into the judges view, that said she deserved her placing. JULIE MOYES |
