NORFOLK JUDGE RICHMOND 13

Norfolk Terriers

I really enjoyed judging the Norfolks again but I found so many who were long & low & also hard expressions just spoil. My winners all scored in balance & that true Norfolk Terrier expression.

PD (3)

1 Gee’s Watercroft Diamond Dealer, very smart, very together both standing & moving, super head & eye, neat ears, strong muzzle, excellent mouth, good topline & tailset, excellent coat texture;

2 Phillips, Gullick & Tate’s Jaeva Cufflink, rich red, just coming into a really nice coat. OK for size, good reach of neck, level topline, good front, excellent bone. Not quite the head & expression of 1;

3 Ellis’ Brymarden Snow Patrol.

JD (3)

These were two really nice dogs.

1 Phillips’ Blakesn The Kandy Man Kan, red of really nice type, loved his head & expression, true Norfolk head with that typical expression, OK in neck & shoulder, straight front, excellent bone, super coat. RCC;

2 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Roll Call, rich red, so close up to 1. Little heavier in body than 1. Really nicely balanced, good bone, excellent tail carriage, sound coming & going. These two will change places many times I am sure.

PGD (1)

1 Haynes’ Cracknor Cut A Caper, on his own & showed really well. Very masculine, dark eye, strong bone, well bodied. Not in his best coat & will look very different when in full coat.

LD (5)

1 Jenkins’ Kinsridge Cash Back, red of nice type & overall balance, very sound, well bodied, good hindquarters, masculine in head & expression, neat small ears well placed;

2 Phillips’ Blakens Xpress Yourself, I loved his head & expression, strong in muzzle, excellent mouth, good front standing. On the move he moves out really well but tends to lengthen himself & where 1 scored;

3 Ackling’s Ruby Rueben.

OD (5)

1 Phillips, Craddock & Collins’ Fontanesi Golden Chalice with Jaeva, very typy & for me best head & expression in the class. Very full of himself & so shows off to his best advantage. Straight front, good bone, excellent coat texture, moves so well in profile. CC;

2 Green’s Wharfvalley Diamond Star, rich red, very masculine, liked his head. Expression a little strong. Good reach of neck & short backed, in full coat of good texture. Not the easiest dog to show as he appears to have a mind of his own;

3 Newton’s Strathinver Smart Enough.

VB (1)

1 Hess & Higgins’ Kaptada Fire Opal at Umbrage, 8 years & really can move, better than some of the younger ones. Super rich red coat of super texture, well bodied, good topline & well carried tail.

PB (6)

1 Broom’s Roxway Fable, very pretty puppy, needs to grow on a bit but she is short backed with good reach of neck. Excellent front, sound both ways. Head a little small but still well balanced;

2 Davies’ Perrisblu Playtime, this bitch has more substance than 1 but not as short coupled. Sound both ways, excellent coat texture. Little unsure on the move at times. Good bone. Just a little plainer in head than 1.

JB (7)

1 Phillips’ Blakens Sugar Candy Kisses, what a lovely bitch. I felt she stood out for her sheer quality. Nice size, neck & short backed, excellent body condition & coat, sound & free moving. Has to be a certain Ch in time. CC & BOB;

2 Gee’s Watercroft Top Of The Pops, very similar in type to 1 & very close up, similar in so many ways. Not quite the strength in head of 1 but it was still balanced & with the right expression;

3 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Just Magic.

PGB (3)

1 New’s Raven Beauty, b/t, really nice bitch & can look so much better when she cooperates more. Quite good to go over on the table & has very nice head. When she did go OK she was quite sound;

2 Hess & Higgins’ Umbrage The Jubilant, red & not really in her best coat. Move cooperative than 1 but I would like her short coupled. Little plain in head & more furnishings would certainly help. Well handled.

LB (0).

OB (4)

1 Hurrion’s Ch Villassa Cherry Ripple, won this class on her superior strength of head. Strong muzzle, well bodied, good neck & shoulder, good front & bone, sound coming & going. Could put more effort into it & where the Junior winner scored. RCC;

2 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Silk Slippers, very outgoing & typical of this kennel. Super hard coat, well balanced & sound. Would just like a bit more of & also strength in head;

3 Devereux’s Vichea Easter Lily.
