NORFOLK JUDGE PAIGNTON 11

Norfolk Terriers
PD (6)

1 Hurrion’s Villassa Done Deal, each had attributes & not. On the day this smart young man, in his best bib & tucker, just did his job & his substance & balance stood him away to win the class & BP. He has a handsome head, well placed ear, he is alert & thinks highly of himself. Absolutely sound & true coming & going away, holding his shape & striding out confidently. BP;

2 Atkinson’s Moortop No Choice, true Norfolk, appealing head, decent front, firm topline, not the attitude of 1 so can make himself look long, he is not but 1 so on form he had to pay the price. Super coat & harsh texture;

3 Phillips & Gullick’s Tailored by Jaeva.

JD (1)

1 Wellstead’s Brickin True To Form, just a year, strong but not large, eye rather round, well boned with good legs & feet, has strength & length in neck, coming from good lay of shoulder. Good spring of rib, short strong loin, decent quarters all adding up to positive structure. All Norfolk a really useful sort.

PGD (4)

1 Devereux’s Vichea Pick Pocket, stood away here for quality, balance & type. Grand head from any angle, really super shape, masculine, firm body & muscle. Excellent harsh close coat, prepared to advantage. Works the ring to advantage, using his well set on of tail to show his confident terrier disposition;

2 Stone’s Cerasus The Jazz Singer, big enough chap, little overdone in head, firm backline, well off for bone, could look different but rather likes his dinner too much. Happy & outgoing.

LD (4)

1 Stevenson’s Brickin Better Be Good, this handler always shows quality Norfolk’s. This boy is cheeky in character, I like a bit of animation after all we are dealing with animals not machines. He is really up for it, displays a super expression from well placed eyes, has strength in foreface & good under jaw, which I have come to expect from this affix. A well made dog, all male, has balance of leg & body using him well. RCC;

2 Atkinson’s Wharfvalley Diamond Bright at Moortop, quality throughout, fabulous headpiece with super eye, skull just right, good width of foreface & nose capable of taking scent. Straight front, well angulated shoulder & return of upper arm, which gives that true front action. Just right for body & ribbing to short powerful loin, width of rump & low hock giving drive, does nothing wrong, would just like him to give a little more;

3 Gee’s Watercroft Hot News.

OD (2)

1 Jenkins’ Ch Kinsridge Top Gun, he came into the ring alone but completely fill the eye. Has presence, is put down to perfection, a real showman working with his unobtrusive handler. From head to tail he could be no other breed, he is so positive in front, coming at you perfectly, which he can only do because his forehand is classic. A pleasure to judge. CC.

PB (5)

1 Stevenson’s Brickin Hop And Skip, well she does not live up to her name, her movement is true & positive, feminine with substance, lovely bone, stands on good legs & feet. Cracking outline & balance, in good coat which is harsh, she is just going to get better & better;

2 Newton’s Strathinver Reddy To Star, very appealing on the move, holds her outline, decent head, good reach of neck, compact well ribbed body, good set on, not neither toyish nor cloddy;

3 New’s Raven Beauty.

JB (3)

Two decent bitches.

1 Gee’s Watercroft Hot Love, just put up the performance & had the edge in hind action, in fact she got better & better, very nice sort;

2 Williams’ Brickin Flash Dance, has quality & is a bitch that can do winning when both gain a little more experience. I think these two are in for a lot of fun.

PGB (3)

1 Howard’s Hatchwoods Flamenco, very pleasing head quality, good eye, stop & foreface, which could be enhanced even more with a little more attention to coat. Well off for bone, good legs & feet, well bodied, maybe a little too well. Won this class with merit;

2 Angear’s Take A Ride to Ridgegrove, small, sassy girl would for ideal, like a little more strength in muzzle & under jaw. Very feminine, working the ring well;

3 Benney’s Medarvam Make A Wish.

LB (3)

1 Phillips’ Blakens Dolly Mixture, what a gorgeous b/t, loved her head, neck clean, muscled & flowing into a super shoulder placement, straight front & quality bone right down to her well padded feet. Good spring of rib, short strong loin, active mover with attitude & good carriage. First class presentation of her harsh, straight coat, thought, this is my CC winner, until she met the open winner, who just had the edge in rear action. RCC;

2 Devereux’s Vichea Dot And Carry, not to be disgraced being second behind 1, has loads of quality, this balanced typy bitch can easily make it to the top, for me 1 had the edge in eye & therefore expression.

OB (4)

I had to smile as these two, dyed- in –the- wool terrier man marched into the ring with their indomitable attitude, their charges were presented in top form & this was to be no push over. What a delight to judge. Funny, it usually takes ages to get the Norfolk terrier handlers into the ring.

1 Phillips’ Jaeva Comfort And Joy, I was not aware that this was the bitch I had given G4 at East of England, I was aware that I thought extremely highly of her. Whilst her femininity is not in doubt she has substance & quality bone. Just a fabulous head, earset & use which enhance her bright, alert expression, good stop with strength in muzzle & jaw easily housing big white teeth. I don’t need to comment on soundness, just watch her move, true, busy, strength in quarters with low hock providing drive & working the ring. Yes it was she I had judged & my opinion only enhanced. CC, her third & BOB;

2 Hurrion’s Valentines Cherry Crumble, put up a cracking performance. Correct skull & ear, both set & use, has reach of neck, compact body with well sprung ribs. Backline level to well set tail, pushed 1 all the way on the move.
