Norfolk Terriers

This is a difficult time of year for coats, with so much recent rain not helping.

PD (4)

1 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Blacklace, stood out in this class, almost a year old, smart b/t of good proportions very well presented, very alert & active who moved very freely, neat head with dark eye, short in back with level topline & good tailset. Very nice puppy but just wish there was a bit more of him;

2 List’s Settrenda Alfie Mac from Nicnips, very close decision between the next three promising younger puppies who could change places as they mature. 7½ month red with good harsh coat, liked his head with good width between well held ears, dark eye, strong muzzle with good bite giving attractive expression, firm in body with substance, level topline with well held tail, moved positively;

3 Smith’s Javidel Come What May.

JD (3,2a)

1 Philip’s Nordalset Back In A Jiffy, still just a puppy, rather immature red at the in between stage & leggy at the moment. Slightly long in the muzzle but with excellent bite & good dark eye. Rather straight in stifle, moves a little wide in front.

PGD (1) A.

LD (6,2)

Very close decision between the first two.

1 Stevenson’s Brickin Told You So, really nice typy dog with nothing overdone or exaggerated, loved his head & expression with dark almond shaped eyes lined with black rims, strong muzzle & big teeth with correct scissor bite together with well carried ears, good length of neck leading to level topline with well held erect full tail, enough substance & bone, he is maturing into a lovely dog, well presented harsh coat in good condition, moved with great drive & purpose;

2 Thompson-Morgan’s Kapitada Dandy Lion, a showy dog, rather full of himself who powered round the ring, a lot to like about him, good outline with masculine head, but not quite the expression of 1. I liked his reach of neck flowing to well laid shoulders, short back with level topline & active upright tail carriage. His coat was almost at the end of its life;

3 Benney’s Wharfvalley Chianti.

OD (4,1)

1 Jenkins’ Ch Kinsridge Top Dollar, star quality dog, masculine, but with a beautiful head & gorgeous expression, well held ears & dark eye with good bite leading to crested neck flowing down to well laid shoulders, in excellent coat & condition, good body & bone with substance, level topline & happily waving upright tail, beautifully balanced, moved with great freedom making a lovely picture in outline. CC. His extra charisma won him BOB;

2 Green’s Wharfvalley Kir Royale, totally correct in make & shape, physically hard to fault, in very good coat & condition but just lacking that extra sparkle that gives the ‘wow’ factor. Quite a character, he moved very happily on his own terms in agreement with his handler;

3 Cooper’s Jaeva Tril-Bee among Settrenda.

PB (7,2)

1 Stevenson’s Brickin Neat And Tidy, 9 months red who is a very outgoing pup of excellent type with equable temperament, quite unfazed by deafening loudspeaker, very well made, attractive head with dark rimmed eyes giving appealing expression, good width of skull, strong muzzle & good bite, just the right length of neck, well laid shoulders, straight front, body of good proportions with good length of rib, level topline & happy upright tail which completed a very nice outline as she strode out round the ring, should have a very bright future. BP;

2 Philip’s Nordalset Sprinkle Of Sun, almost a year old, neat bitch of good size in very good red harsh coat, nice head, with well carried ears, dark eye & excellent bite, shorter in back than 3, well carried tail on the move, but needs a bit more confidence;

3 Jenkins’ Little Redhead at Kinsridge.

JB (4,1)

1 Hurrion’s Valentines Cherry Crumble, the star of the bitches here, light red, beautifully turned out in immaculate condition giving a performance in complete accord with her handler, pretty head with dark eye, short strong muzzle, good bite, well carried ears, good length of neck to well laid shoulders, good front & straight forelegs with good bone & neat feet, body of very good proportions, not exaggerated in any way, deep brisket, with good length of ribs, kept her topline level with good tailset as she moved with plenty of drive & enthusiasm. CC;

2 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Intuition, beautifully presented as are all from this kennel. A bit wild & gassy making her movement a bit erratic. Nice head with well held ears, bite OK, lovely reach of neck, well laid shoulders, straight front, level topline, very short in back. Tail goes over & not sure what to do with it. Well turned stifle & low hocks giving plenty of propulsion from rear;

3 Harpham & Hulance’s Diggery Sail The Wave.

PGB (5,2)

1 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Roll The Dice, very nice quality bitch of lovely proportions, with substance in body & depth, very active sort who really strode out moving round the ring, in good coat, feminine bitch with good head, well defined stop & short muzzle but no dark rims & rather round eye, very good ear carriage, attractive crest of neck to well laid shoulders, level topline, & held her tail well. RCC;

2 Philip’s Belleville Luck Be A Lady at Nordalset, in very good coat, really gleaming, slightly longer in back than 1, but very nice size, & very active, really striding out, keeping her topline level. Needs to drop down & mature. Liked her head & expression, happy little bitch, she went well;

3 Simpson’s Megalex Elusive Dream.

LB (9,2)

A hotly contested class with some nice bitches, a rainy month has not helped with coats, unfortunate that some had to go out cardless.

1 Brazier & Smallridge’s Cracknor Cutting Edge, well presented mature red with substance, very nice head with good width between ears, strong muzzle with very good bite, dark eye giving very nice expression, good length of neck, straight front, level topline with upright tailset. Perhaps a little long in body. Coat in immaculate order, moved very freely in harmony with her handler;

2 Devereux’s Vichea Rambling Rose, very good type & size, under a rather profuse coat she was very correctly made, with good bone, short in back with good tailset, very nice to go over, pretty head with good ear carriage & dark eye, moved well with plenty of drive;

3 Stevenson’s Brickin Skip Away.

OB (4,3)

1 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Lucky Dice, smart little bitch, not a lot of her, but very animated & showy, sweet head, neat ears, short muzzle which could be stronger. Short back & level topline, well proportioned body. Slightly toyish, & could have a bit more substance. Very active mover.
