Norfolk Terrier Club of Great Britain DCC & BOS: Brickin Pot Of Pickle I would like to thank the committee for the invitation and to my capable stewards, but more importantly to the Exhibitors, who took their placing so sportingly. It was a lovely atmosphere all weekend, meeting old friends and making new ones worldwide. GCD (2) 1 Nunez’s Cherokee at Treehouse, (ATC AU01542USA), black & tan lovely quality. Good head proportions with good ear carriage. Lovely eye which gives a good keen expression. OK in neck and front assembly, with good bone. Good spring of rib, with correct tail set, angles behind OK, which he uses, just needs time to mature and a little more coat to finish the picture. Handled and presented well; 2 Brown’s Dajean Dotty’s Digger, what a partnership. This little dog is a credit to his owner for his condition, but mainly for his temperament. True Norfolk temperament, very pleasing type and very sound, in good condition. Class act together. VD (4-2) 1 Simpson’s Umbrage Longton cum Megalex, 8 yr old male in excellent form, like wine – gets better as he gets older. Head proportion correct, would like a smaller eye, good ear carriage, OK for make and shape, OK on the move for his age. In good hard condition, in excellent coat, looking smart. Best Veteran Dog; 2 Ebbs’ Watercroft Hot News, black & tan male. Nice dog to go over, very compact with pleasing head and expression. Didn’t help his young handler when he came to moving, but overall type was very pleasing. SVD (Special Vintage Dog)(1) 1 Rusby’s Harrys A Hero, a credit to his owner. At 12½ looking so fit, really enjoying his day, pleasing to go over, not carrying any excess weight which shows on the move. Really moving well, keeping his top line all the time. Handled and presented well. MPD (8-1) 1 Gee’s Watercroft Calling Time, top class puppy. Lovely head proportions, with correct dog eye, neat in ears, which gives good expression. Correct neck and shoulder, with good clean front, nice round feet, excellent in body, with good short coupling. Tail on top, in excellent form and coat. Very sound, pressed hard for the Reserve CC; 2 Jenkins & McCourt’s Kinsridge Crackshot, very promising youngster. All the correct proportions for one this age, good bone for size, very sound on the move. One that has to make a mark on the breed once matured; 3 McPhee’s Kinsridge No Problem; Res Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Just Look; VHC Newton’s Strathinver Redgold. PD (7-1) 1 Salminen’s Nanstop Bvlgari, (ATC AU01816FIN), headed a mixed class. Liked this dog for his masculinity and bone, lovely head, correct eye, strong jaw with big teeth. Good front assembly, OK in body for age, strong quarters, which he uses, excellent coat texture, extends on the move. Needs to drop in body and fill out, time is on his side; 2 Lloyd’s Orison Ice Tee, smart young lad of very good type, again correct bone, very short and compact, moving slightly wide in front today on the move, but gives good side picture, holding top line and shape; 3 Gee’s Watercroft Nightcap; Res Stevenson’s Brickin Quite By Chance; VHC Money’s Kinsridge Christmas Cracka. JD (3) 1 Hurrion & Standen’s Villassa Jack Be Quick, dog I liked for his age, pleasing head with good proportions. Front and neck assembly good, firm top line with good angles behind, would just prefer shorter coupling, very good side gait, well prepared; 2 Nunez’s Cherokee at Treehouse, (ATC AU01542USA); 3 Hess & Higgins’ Umbrage Copacabana. YD (3) 1 Hurrion & Standen’s Villassa Jack Be Quick; 2 Walker’s Hedgefield Brucey Baby, pleasing dog to go over, with good proportions, correct bone for size, with correct length of rib. Would like more strength on the move from behind, in pleasing form, handled well; 3 Baumbach’s Wederdena’s Harry Beau. SBD (3) 1 Money’s Kinsridge Christmas Cracka, handy little dog of good type, very well balanced, good strength of skull with neat ears, slightly round in eye that distracts from expression. OK in front and back, went well; 2 Baumbach’s Wederdena’s Harry Beau, smaller type than 1st. Personally I would like more of him all round. Pretty head with good eye and shape, neat ears, which he uses. OK body for size, sound on the move; 3 Brown’s Dajean Dotty’s Digger. ND (4-2) 1 Newton’s Strathinver Redgold, very raw pup at just 6 months but has all the makings of a nice one. Lovely head with expression and correct eye, good construction in body and bone for age, just need’s time and he has plenty; 2 Baumbach’s Wederdena’s Harry Beau. PGD (5) 1 Jenkins’ Kinsridge Witty Banter, Wow! Took my eye immediately for quality, type and balance. Stunning head with correct head proportions, neat ears. Good expression, looks at you dead on, clean neck and shoulder, with correct body for age. Good strong top line, and short coupling, tail on top, good angles from behind. Not much I would change on this dog – at this age. Has great presence and soundness. Lost out on the ticket through no fault of his own, just maturity. RCC and Best Puppy Dog; 2 Walshe’s Beritas The Name’s Bond, good type of dog, presents himself well. Pleasing head with correct small dark eye, which gives him the correct expression, correct neat ears. Clean in front, well ribbed body with strong loin, good side gate, went OK up and down; 3 Hurrion’s Villassa Jack Daniels; Res Walker’s Hedgefield Brucey Baby; VHC Philip’s Guestlings Litle Red Rascal (Imp Swe). LD (5-1) 1 Stevenson’s Brickin Pot Of Pickle, 2 yr old male. One you could easily walk past if you are not familiar with the breed a dog you need to put your hands on to appreciate what an excellent type he is. You should never judge a book by the cover. One of the best headed dogs here today, with correct proportions and strength, excellent muzzle and bite, small dark eye with excellent expression. Very good in neck and shoulder with good clean front, correct fore chest and spring of rib. Followed on with short strong loin, good tail set, excellent bone for size, OK in angles behind, sound back and forth. He is what it says on the “tin”. Pleased to give him the CC and to hear that crowns him; 2 Britten’s Krisma Dark N’Stormy, different type than first, but still carries all the breed characteristics you require. Liked his head with the real Norfolk look. Correct eye and shape, pleasing in neck and shoulder. Good clean front, pleasing bone for size, good compact body with angles behind. In excellent coat and form, has a lot of attitude. Moves well. Handled with confidence, Best Black & Tan; 3 Darnell’s Jacquidon Tough As A Nut; Res Brown’s Dajean Dotty’s Digger. OD (5-3) 1 Newton’s Ch Strathinver Sea The Stars, always liked this dog from the ring side. The 1st time to put my hands on, wasn’t disappointed, can understand how he has done all his winning. Crowning a lovely head piece looks at you right with a correct eye, lovely neck and shoulder which is lacking in the breed at this moment in time. Excellent body with correct ribs. Lovely angles from behind, well muscled quarters, tail set good. Very sound, moves with ease, liked him a lot; 2 Gee’s Ch Watercroft Chilli Pepper, very smart dog, very impressive standing, excellent body with correct length of rib, good strong bone, excellent coat, covers the ground well on the move. SSD (Special Senior Dog age 5-6)(2) 1 Sant’s Nordalset Look To The Future, lovely quality dog, was very surprised to see him in this class, so pleasing to go over, good hard proportions with good strength of jaw, excellent size teeth and bite, lovely neck that goes into laid back shoulders. Correct length of rib with good firm loin, very good tail set and carriage, with good strong well angulated quarters. So sound on the move, showed well; 2 Smith’s Javidel May Just Have Too, again lovely type and size. OK for bone, very compact with good coupling, lovely head with expression. Just prefer more neck and tighter front. Put down well.
GCB (2-1) 1 Macartney’s Ivrig First Bit Of Joy, 2 yr old bitch. Very feminine, pleasing to go over, I liked her head and expression. OK for bone, carrying a bit of weight today. Good set on, sound on the move, nice red jacket. VB (3) 1 Hurrion’s Ch Valentines Cherry Crumble, 10½ yrs of age. In tip top form, well worthy champion, looking good for her years. Bitch with attitude plus very sound. Handler and bitch make a great team, BV; 2 Green’s Wharfvalley Diamond Diva, different type than 1st. With lots to like, typical head and expression, good bone for size, OK body for age, excellent coat. Not as positive as 1 on the move, possibly tired from day before; owner got the best out of her; 3 Hess & Higgins’ Umbrage Spode. SVB (Special Vintage Bitch)(1) 1 Smith’s Stridview Bluebell for Javidel, looking well for her years, still keeping her lovely type and shape. In good hard condition, which she used to her advantage going round the ring. MPB (6) 1 Gee’s Watercroft Gold Dust, one that will make an impact in the breed as she matures. Excels for type, quality and balance, lovely head proportions with good expression. Neat ears and correct eye, liked her for her neck shoulder with clean front, correct deep body, with strong top line. Tail sitting on top, with good angulated quarters. Short hocks which she uses to her advantage with plenty of drive. In excellent coat. Never put a foot wrong. Was pleased to award her RCC, BP and RBIS; 2 Brackner’s Bruperhat Wedding Crasher, again another good quality puppy, carrying good type making shape. Slightly rounder in eye than the 1st. Coat not quite the texture as 1st but hold’s herself going round the ring, sound back and forth. Handled well; 3 Thompson-Morgan’s Villassa Jelligello; Res Hurrion & Osborne-Brown’s Villassa Jellitots; VHC Stevenson’s Brickin Just For Fun. PB (3-1) 1 Salminen’s Nanstop Bik Bok, (ATC AU01817FIN), strong type of puppy, but has all the essentials, lovely bone, well balanced for size. Lovely head with good expression with small dark eye. Excellent bite with good strength of jaw. Good lay back of shoulder with deep chest, correct length of rib, with short coupling, good shape tail. In excellent form. Presented and handled well; 2 Gee’s Watercroft Pink Fizz, nice type of puppy, more to like that not. Over all pleasing to go over, slightly tight in front at the moment on the move. OK behind, showy. JB (3-1) 1 Gee’s Watercroft Top Totty, very typy bitch, as all from this kennel. Typical head, with good proportions. Lovely dark eye, nice length of neck with strength, body construction good, good bone for size, moves well back and forth. Very showy; 2 Hurrion’s Villassa All By Design, 14 month old. Over all proportions good, very pretty head and nice expression. Good angles back and front, very sound on the move. Just would like a little more substance all round, and stronger jaw. YB (3-1) 1 Gee’s Watercroft Suzie’Q, correct type again from this kennel, size shape and balance all in one package. Lovely clean front with good shoulders. In lovely coat. Moves with drive and purpose. Showed well for handler; 2 Walshe’s Beritas Bedevilled, showy little bitch, put all out on the day. Typical type, a little longer cast, and not the eye of 1st. Sound back and forth. SBB (1-1) NB (3-2) 1 Harpham & Hulance’s Diggery Hashtag Selfie, well the surprise of the day, new to me, to go over. Surprised to see her in this class, has such a lot to offer, and can compete in any company. Pulled her out in my last four for consideration for higher awards. Beautiful head with true Norfolk expression, good angles front & back, correct body, very sound on the move, just needed more coat to complete the picture. One that’s capable of higher honours. PGB (6-3) 1 Devereux’s Vichea Indian Summer, good type of bitch with good shape, correct head and bite, excels in neck and shoulder, with good ribbing, strong loin. Good tail, excellent coat, muscled behind, very sound. Liked her a lot; 2 Saltmarsh’s Pipridges Holly, honest type of bitch with excellent bone, well balanced all through, excellent muscle tone. Moves with purpose from behind in good coat; 3 Freeman’s Buttons Rambles. LB (8-2) 1 Gee’s Watercroft Pop Picker, liked this bitch a lot, for type, quality and balance, beautiful head with strength, correct eye, lovely neck and shoulder, good straight front. Excellent body with short coupling, good tail set, with correct angles behind. Very sound, in excellent coat. Another one who should gain her crown; 2 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Ovation, classy bitch, unfortunate to meet 1st. Lovely to put your hands on, typical head with keen expression. Flows into neck, shoulders and body like a glove. Sound back and forth, with good side gate. Quality bitch; 3 Darnell’s Jacquidon No Hesitation; Res Brackner’s Watercroft Shotgun Wedding; VHC Lloyd’s Orison Midnight Stroll. OB (5) 1 Jenkins’ Ch Kinsridge Top Tip, star of the day, what can I say that hasn’t already been said! 1st time for me to put my hands on her, did not disappoint. Only thing I would change on this bitch is ownership! To Me. An excellent representative for a breed record holder, something for us all to aspire to as breeders. My CC winner and BIS, says it all; 2 Britten’s Ch Krisma Nip In The Air, lovely quality bitch, has all the essentials of a champion. Lovely head and expression, very good neck and shoulder, correct in body, good tail set with good quarters, which she uses on the move. For perfection, would like a little more of her all round.
