I had a thoroughly enjoyable time judging the very good entry, strong in both quantity and quality, and many of the classes were closely contested. A sporting atmosphere prevailed which always makes a big difference.
It was sad that Gail Simpson, who works so hard for the club, was unable to attend owing to illness but the show was left in the good hands of show manager Andre Hess, President Beverley Watkins and the committee who made me most welcome.
BIS was the bitch Blakens Look No Further, crowned on the day and indeed crowning a very good day for her talented breeder. RBIS was the dog Ch Watercroft Calling Time and this kennel won BP with Watercroft Brown Sugar. BVIS was the bitch Ch Valentines Cherry Crumble.

1 Green’s Ch Wharfvalley Diamond Star, a 9 yr old cobby dog who is short coupled and holds his topline on the move. A very good head and dark eye. Scored in bone and couplings here;

2 Darnell’s Jacquidon Tough As A Nut, in really good form. He has lovely type and is full of spirit on the move. He moved very well. A good eye which could be a shade darker. Winner just a little shorter.

MPD (3)

1 Phillips’ Tell A Tale to Jaeva, almost 9 months and had a big pull in rib and body here. Scores in strength of muzzle, a touch heavy in ear. Moved well. Feet can tighten;

2 Gee’s Watercroft Duty Calls, 7 months and appealed for size and shortness of body. Can fill out in rib and at present not the strength of muzzle of the winner. A good mover, full or spirit. Shows a LOT of promise;

3 Jenkins’ Kinsridge Smart Money.

1 Gee’s Watercroft Brown Sugar, 11 months compact and low to ground with excellent freedom of front action which won him this class. Excellent coat and very good quarters. A very good head and neat ears;

2 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Crumble Topping, 9 months, a beautifully bodied body who is a touch larger than the winner and he is very forward. Not the neckline of the winner or the reach in front;

3 Atkinson’s Moortop My Mark Again; Res Philip’s Nordalset Festivities.

1 Smith’s Javidel Despicable May, 14 months which I liked a lot for cobbiness and body. He has a strong head and good quarters and went well. Coming into good coat;

2 Stevenson’s Brickin Just A Pickle, scores in head and eye. A touch longer in body than the winner but he is not yet fully developed there. Sound and accurate on the move;

3 Harpham & Hulance’s Diggory Golden Ratio; Res Newton’s Strathinver Star Of Fortune; VHC Jenkins’ Kinsridge Status Quo.

YD (1)

1 Newton’s Strathinver Redgold, 18 months dog of good type but he needs more schooling to be appreciated. He has a good head and eye but I would prefer a touch more bone. Can tighten in his front action but hard to assess on the move.

SBD (1)

1 Walker’s Hedgefield Brucey Baby, 2 year old shown in firm condition and good coat. He has good head proportions and a strong muzzle. His front legs cold be straighter and this affects his front action.

ND (2)

1 Smith’s Javidel Despicable May, Best Novice In Show;

2 Walkers’s Roxy Park Springtime; 17 months shown in good form. A slightly longer dog and this shows in his topline. Good bone and a strong head. His ears can be neater. Can tighten up on the move.

UGD (3)

1 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Major Key, 11 months, good for size and cobbiness and has a very good head and eye. Shown in good coat. He moves well at both ends. He can let down in chest yet but he is full of type;

2 Newton’s Strathinver Star Of Fortune, reserve from the junior class. A smaller dog needing more bone and substance at the moment. Full of spirit and needs to settle on the move;

3 Walker’s Hedgefield Brucey Baby.

PGD (4-1) 1 Walshe’s Beritas The Name’s Bond, 2 year old who could be a touch shorter but he is well ribbed back and carries a firm topline and moves well at both ends. Good skull and muzzle proportions;

2 Newton’s Strathinver Redgold;

3 Lloyd’s Orison Ice Tee.

LD (4-1)

1 Atkinson’s Charlie Blake at Moortop, a very honest dog who might not be the flashiest but he is very good to go over and scores heavily in quarters and tail and carries a very good topline. Very good head. A touch wide in front but scored here in compactness;

2 Hess & Higgins’ Umbrage Copacabana, 2 year old of lovely type and beautifully presented in good coat. Caught the eye immediately for type and lowness to ground. His front action let him down today but he has so much to like;

3 Montgomery’s Lexinor Play The Ace.

OD (6-1)

1 Gee’s Ch Watercroft Calling Time, won a good class. He is very short yet moves with freedom of stride and really uses his quarters. Good head and cored in his eye here. Good neck into shoulder. Presented in good coat. Won CC but in the challenge for best of breed he had his mind on other matters, CC, RBIS;

2 Phillips’ Ch Marchdens Mark My Words, pressed the winner all the way as he was in tip form and has very good movement. Not quite as compact as the winner but ribbed well back and has an excellent topline. I liked him enormously, RCC;

3 Jenkins’ Kinsridge Witty Banter; Res Van-Stuivenberg’s NL Cro Ch Jaeva Bit O’Bover; VHC Hurrion & Standen’s Villassa Jack Be Quick.

GCB (2-1)

1 Macartney’s Ivrig First Bit Of Joy, 2 year old small bitch full of spirit and shown in good coat. Could have a little more bone. Feminine head which could be stronger. Full of character.

VB (1)

1 Hurrion’s Ch Valentines Cherry Crumble, at 10 years old she obviously loves the showring and retains lovely type and quality and is very accurate at both ends. Cobby and compact and in crisp coat. Feminine head with good expression. Full of personality and her presence gave her BVIS.

MPB (7-3)

A good class for depth of quality down the line.

1 Phillips’ Just The One at Blakens, 7 months and at her first show and a beautiful baby, full of breed type. She is raw and her head needs time to develop but compact and well ribbed with good bone and feet. Positive and free on the move. I think she is a super prospect and she was best bitch puppy on the day;

2 Hurrion’s Villassa All About Me, 8 months and more forward in body and coat but a touch longer and not quite as settled in her front action. I liked her head, bone and ribbing. A very good puppy who will look even better when she loses some of her puppy fat;

3 Phillips’ Fairy Tale at Jaeva; Res Brittain’s Kinsridge Pretty Penny.

1 Hurrion’s Villassa All About Me;

2 Stevenson’s Brickin Devine Tilly, a very typy b&t of 11 months. She is a lovely size and a compact body but needs a little more substance and this shows in her topline. Just a matter of filling out her frame. Giving her handler a hard time on the move. I preferred the head of the winner;

3 Macartney’s Ivrig Dancing In The Sun.

A very good class, closely contested.

1 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville In The Black, 12 months b&t of excellent substance and quarters and scores in strength of muzzle and eye. Moves well at both ends and has a strong topline and was shown in shown in crisp coat. Should have a good future;

2 Harpham & Hulance’s Diggery Netflix, smaller bitch of beautiful type and quality and immaculately presented in superb coat. Compact and low to ground. She can finish in chest yet and this shows a little in her front action at the moment but she really drives along from good quarters. Her head is in balance and can develop a little yet but I thought she was a lovely bitch;

3 Phillips’ Blakens Party Planner; Res Jenkins’ Kinsridge Chitchat; VHC Darnell’s Jacquidon Nip And Tuck.

YB (4-1)

1 Gee’s Watercroft Pink Fizz, 20 months with a lot of substance and a good head and eye. Shown in excellent coat. Low to ground and also free striding and accurate on the move. Has a lot to like. In the challenge I thought she looked a little top heavy for perfect balance;

2 Hurrions’s Villassa Cherry Stars, 16 months, a little longer for balance but I liked her topine and ribbing. Not quite the strength of muzzle of the winner. Carried a good topline with excellent tail;

3 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Back To Black.

SBB (1)

1 Macartney’s Ivrig Dancing In The Sun, 10 months old and third in the puppy class. A touch long for balance and not helped by being between coats on the day. Feminine head which is a little heavy in ear. Good bone and a sound mover.

NB (1)

1 Foubister’s Kinsridge Gun Chaser, 2 year old who is small, compact and low to ground. Good head type but her ears cold be neater. Lacks a little upper arm which restricts her front stride. Carries a good topline.

UGB (2-1)

1 Hurrions’s Villassa Cherry Stars.

PGB (8-3)

1 Thompson-Morgan’s Villassa Jelligello, 18 months with excellent body, movement and coat. I wd prefer a stronger head but her cobbiness won her this place;

2 Darnell’s Jacquidon Rags To Riches, she scored in head over the winner but not as forward in rib or body. Shown in excellent coat;

3 Walshe’s Beritas Bedevilled; Res Foubister’s Kinsridge Gun Chaser; VHC Macartney’s Ivrig First Bit Of Joy.

LB (4-1)

1 Phillips’ Blakens Look No Further, filled my eye for type and movement. I liked her bone and substance and strong, yet feminine head with a good expression. Topline, tail carriage and movement all very good, Shown in great form. Clever breeder whose dogs are full of type, CC, her third and BIS;

2 Jenkins’ Kinsridge Tip The Wink, 16 months and at a teenage stage looking up on leg and needing to drop in chest. Her head needs time. Won this place on movement and topline;

3 Gee’s Watercroft Suzie Q.

OB (5-1)

1 Phillips’ Ch Marchdens Look To The Sky, 26 months b&t, another top class little bitch who is short, well ribbed and enough bone for her size and a very good mover. Quality head and good eye. I preferred the tailset of her kennelmate in the challenge but she pressed all the way and took the RCC so this kennel had three bitches in the challenge;

2 Gee’s Ch Watercroft Gold Dust, a trifle larger and lower slung. I preferred her head but she was not as clean in front assembly. Excellent quarters and movement and in really good coat;

3 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Ovation; Res Hurrion’s Villassa Cherry Tart.

Class C – Special Open Dog (3)

1 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Crumble Topping, mature puppy dog, well boned. Good breadth to skull well placed ears, clean back skull with good fill beneath the eye and good strength through muzzle. Pleasing expression. Good ribbing, moved soundly, and well presented;

2 Gee’s Watercroft Brown Sugar, another quality male, lacking the maturity of 1st on the day. Close decision just preferred the strength through head of 1st. Well balanced and well ribbed, moved soundly in good coat and well presented;

3 Smith’s Javidel Despicable May.

Class D – Special Open Bitch (6-2)

1 Gee’s Watercroft Suzie Q, quality bitch, well balanced and proportioned. Good head proportions, pleasing expression, well ribbed, pleasing outline on move and stood. Moved soundly and freely front and back. In good condition and well presented;

2 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Back To Black, quality bitch but a little masculine compared with 1st. Good head and well balanced. Pleasing bitch to go over. Sound moving and well presented;

3 Harpham and Hulance’s Diggery Netflix; Res Thompson-Morgan’s Villassa Jelligello.

1st BELLEVILLE CRUMBLE TOPPING Mature puppy dog, well boned. Good breadth to skull well placed ears, clean back skull with good fill beneath the eye and good strength through muzzle. Pleasing expression. Good ribbing, moved soundly, and well presented.

2nd WATERCROFT BROWN SUGAR Another quality male, lacking the maturity of 1st on the day. Close decision just preferred the strength through head of 1st. Well balanced and well ribbed, moved soundly in good coat and well presented.

3rd JAVIDEL DESPICABLE MAY

Special Open Bitch

1st WATERCROFT SUZIE Q Quality bitch, well balanced and proportioned. Good head proportions, pleasing expression, well ribbed, pleasing outline on move and stood. Moved soundly and freely front and back. In good condition and well presented.

2nd BELLEVILLE BACK TO BLACK Quality bitch but a little masculine compared with 1st. Good head and well balanced. Pleasing bitch to go over. Sound moving and well presented.

3rd DIGGERY NETFLIX 4th VILLASSA JELLIGELLO
