NORFOLK JUDGE LEEDS 17

Firstly a big thank you to Liz Stannard and Leeds Canine Society for my first invite to judge a breed at Non CC Breed Level. The whole experience was made more special as it is my local Championship Show and that as a young girl I used to go to and dream watching the world of dog showing. I was delighted with my entry and thank you to the exhibitors for coming and allowing me to go over your dogs, and not forgetting my stewards Ann and Rod Green for their professionalism and for looking after me.

Puppy - Dog (4,0)

1 Stevenson's Brickin Heart Throb - Red, 9 months old, lovely type, with a good strong head, good reach of neck, correct mouth, dark eye, level topline, moved and showed well once settled

2 Standen's Villassa Jack Be Quick Red, 11 months, in short hard coat, pleasing head and dark eyes, firm topline, correct bite, moved OK, preferred length of 1

3 Mrs R Gee - Watercroft Calling Time.

Open - Dog (3,1)

1 Stevenson's Brickin Pot Of Pickle Red, a quality dog that I have admired from the ringside and delighted he was here today. Short and cobby, in excellent coat today, strong masculine head and strength of muzzle, beautiful mouth with big teeth, firm level topline and substance, super bone, tail well set on. No hesitation in awarding him BD and then BOB.

2 Atkinson's Charlie Blake at Moortop Red, Another quality dog with very similar attributes to 1 with a super harsh coat and good masculine head, just didn't have the animation of 1 today.RBD

Veteran - Dog (2,1)

1 Simpson's Umbrage Longton Cum Megalex Red of 8 years, this dog just improves with age. Excellent coat, head and earset, big strong teeth, a shade long, moved and showed very well, really enjoying his day.

Puppy - Bitch (7,3)

1 Gee's Watercroft Pop Corn Red, 11 months old, this gassy puppy caught my eye as she entered the ring. Really liked this one, real quality, super head and dark eye with good earset, correct bite, nice neck and level topline, compact short backed and typy, moved and showed really well BP

2 Graves's Pipsacre Jo Malone Red, 7 months old, another lovely puppy, nice shape, lovely head, good eyes and ears but today in her underclothes.

3 Stevenson's Brickin Sweet Heart

Junior - Bitch (2,1)

1 Gee's Watercroft Suzie'q - Very good head shape and correct bite. Great body shape and bone, cobby, well sprung rib, moved true both ways.

Post Graduate - Bitch (6,3)

1 Thompson-Morgan's Belleville Cool Summer Another quality bitch, red, loved her size, make and shape, great mouth, with plenty of bone, good harsh coat, correct length of neck into well laid shoulder, kept her topline on the move, won the class with ease but sadly was very unsettled in the challenge.

2 Hurrion's Villassa Too Choosi Lovely head and dark eye, correct bite, good body and sound moving both ways.

3 Graves's Nicnips Indulgence

Open - Bitch (3,1)

1 Gee's Watercroft Pop Picker Have judged this bitch before and another that has improved with age and certainly didn't disappoint today, excellent type, attractive head and expression, good stop, correct bite, neat well set ears, lovely topline and bone, moved and showed so well, in perfect condition BB

2 Hurrion's Villassa Cherry Tart Lovely head, expressive eyes, neat ears, good bite, neck and shoulder, well presented, didn't like the wet long grass today affecting her movement.

Veteran - Bitch (2,1)

1 Hurrion's Ch Valentines Cherry Crumble How old? WOW! Red of 9 years young. She came in the ring saying "I have arrived!" Great expression, short body with great tailset and bone, nice neck and level topline, neat ears, she and her owner powered around the ring as one. Could not deny her RBB and BV and I was delighted to see her winning the Veteran Terrier Group later in the day, she just loved that big ring!
