NORFOLK JUDGE LKA 19

Thank you to the committee of LKA for the invitation to judge and to my 2 stewards for their great help. Thank you to the exhibitors for giving me the opportunity to judge their dogs and the sporting way they excepted my placings. I was very pleased with the quality that was presented to me and found that in several classes places were very close calls. Mouths have very much improved since I last judged with only a couple with jumbled teeth and one reverse scissor bite. Coat and presentation was on the whole very good as this is a show that coat is usually ready to blow and decisions on what to do at this stage is hard due to crufts on the horizon.

MPD (1)

1 Gwee’s Watercroft Brief Encounter, Promising baby with head of correct proportions for his age with good width and Dk eyes, well placed ears and strong mouth, good length of neck and well laid shoulders, straight in front and well angulated in rear giving free easy movement.

PD (3,1)

1 Jenkins’ Kinsridge Tip Off, Pleasing dog with masculine head with dk eyes, strong mouth and correct ear placement, good length of neck and level topline, rear quarters strong and sound but front needs to tighten a little more, coat was at its best and well presented, his overall maturity and ring presence won him BP today

2 Macbean’s Earthtaw Lynmouth at Pryorvale, good width to head with dk eyes, strong mouth and good ear set, moderate neck and good lay of shoulders, good coat texture and trim, moved well

JD (2)B

1 Gee’s Watercroft Calling Card, Lovely youngster just out of puppy, has all the attributes of a Norfolk, good length to rib, level top line and well set tail, sound in front and rear shown in excellent jacket and presentation

2 Simpson’s Brickin Wish Me Luck At Megalex, Another nice youngster but would benefit from a little weight off causing him to look a little stuffy over his neck and shoulders, good front and rear action, well set tail, coat just holding up.

PGD (5)

1 Smith’s Javidel Mayde To Order, Sound dog who took this class for overall type, he has a masculine head with dk eyes and good mouth, firm top line and tail set well on, moved well both ways and nice profile, shown in good coat.

2 Newton’s Strathinver Time To Star, Another sound dog with masculine head, good length and depth to rib, firm top line, moved well once settled, just preferred the overall profile of 1.

3 Walker’s Hedgefield Brucey Baby

LD (6,1)

1 Gee’s Watercroft To Coin A Phrase, Handsome dog with pleasing head with good width between his well placed ears, dk eyes and strong mouth, good neck and shoulders, firm top line with good tail set, sound in front and rear, moving well fore and aft, shown in excellent order.

2 Newton’s Strathinver Star Of Fortune, Masculine head with dk eyes and well placed ears, firm top line and well angulated rear, not quite the construction of 1, shame he misbehaved on the move

3 Nash’s Ralph Of House Nash

OD (5,1)

1 Thompson-Morgan’s Ch Belleville Major Key, Lovely balanced dog, well proportioned with good work to head, dk eyes and well placed ears, correct length of neck and good lay of shoulder, solid boned legs and muscled quarters which he used to propel himself around the ring and gave him a great moving profile. Coat at its very best. Pleased to give him the CC

2 Hurrion & Standen’s Villassa Jack Be Quick, slightly smaller frame than 1 but balanced all through, good head and expression, well laid shoulders and firm top line. Mature in body with deep rib, good front and rear assembly giving him great reach and drive on the move which gave him the edge for the RCC today. Coat and presentation excellent

3 Smith’s Javidel Despicable May

MPB (5,2)

1 Gee’s Watercroft Stolen Moment, Another very promising puppy from this kennel, only 7 months but everything I would want in a baby of this age, compact body, good head neck and shoulders, moved freely once she settled. My best puppy bitch and only pipped on overall maturity by the dog in the challenge for best puppy

2 Phillips’ Blakens Up Town Girl, Only just 6months and I think her first show, she took it all in her stride and showed well, sweet head with dk eyes and correct sized ears although flying a bit, which I put down to teething, correct neck and shoulder and well ribbed body, great little mover.

3 Stevenson’s Brickin Wild Flower.

PB (4)

1 Jenkins’ Kinsridge Tip Toes, Youngster with well proportioned head with correct width, dk eyes and well placed ears, level top line and well set tail, like her brother needs to tighten a little in front but liked her overall profile and coat texture to win her this class.

2 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Li’l Black Number, Another promising youngster who has all to like, sweet head with good expression, sound in front and rear, correct length and depth to rib, moved well giving me a hard decision to split these two.

3 Atkinson’s Moortop Sweet Design.

JB (2)

1 Stevenson’s Brickin Made By Design, Nicely made youngster with well proportioned head, moderate neck and level top line, straight in front with well muscled quarters, moved well and shown in lovely coat.

2 Cherry’s Shanandi Little Red Dress, Only just out of puppy and still a little raw, feminine head and expression with dk eyes and neat ears, moderate neck and good lay of shoulders, but a little fine in bone at this stage and lacking furnishings which can only be helped with maturity, moved well.

PGB (3)

1 Darnell;s Jacquidon Rags To Riches, nicely put together, head with dark eyes, good width of skull and well set ears, level top line with a good set tail, moved well.

2 Nash’s Tiggy Of House Nash, sweet head, well laid shoulder, would have preferred a better top line, front and rear ok, moved well.

3 Mac-Bean’s Pryorvale Bow Belle

LB (3)

1 Phillips’ Blakens Party Planner, Bitch of Lovely type size and quality, feminine head with sweetest of expressions, correct neck and shoulders, compact and well boned, well sprung rib and excellent coat. Moved so sound showing great extension and drive RCC.

2 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Back To Black, Lovely head and expression with correct proportions, nice neck and shoulders, short back and good spring of rib, moved out with ease.

3 Darnell’s Jacquidon Nip And Tuck

OB (3)

What a lovely trio these girls made so nice to a have a whole class full of quality.

1 Gee’s Ch Watercroft Pink Fizz, Loved everything about this little lady, everything in good order, super head with true expression, compact and well balanced, sound in front and rear standing well on her toes and commanding the ring from the start, moved with purpose and showed her socks off in the challenge, pleased to award her the CC and BOB.

2 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville In The Black, Another quality well balanced bitch, nice head with width of skull, dk eyes and well placed ears, short back and good tail placement, shown in excellent condition, standing square and moving with ease.

3 Gee’s Ch Watercroft Gold Dust.

VB (1)

1 Hurrion’s Ch Valentines Cherry Crumble, What a joy to see a veteran at 12 yrs old enjoying every minute, I can see why she gained her title, good work to the head with moderate neck and good lay of shoulders, well sprung rib of correct length and depth, carrying a little weight as I would expect from a lady of her age but it didn’t effect her movement one bit. Shown in good jacket.
