NORFOLK LKA 17 Judge: Mr Andrew Gullick (Merauder) BEST OF BREED : 6334 GEE Mrs R Watercroft Pop Picker NORFOLK JUDGE LKA 17 My sincere thanks goes firstly the exhibitors. On what was a day of the worst of travelling conditions some of the entry managed to get to the NEC safely, I had visions of LKA of yesteryear. I live near to the venue but not even my scheduled transport were able to go a few hundred yards in my home town. I made the decision to somehow get to the train station and board the first available train at 9.10am out of Rugby to the NEC after letting the organisers know at 6.45am what I could achieve should I be unable to travel by car and very conscious of not letting anyone down. I managed to get to the breed ring approximately 9:40 knowing that judging was delayed by the organising committee. The halls were notably empty with many benches untouched. The true nature of true dog folk showed through with the few who managed to get into the halls with their charges. Even I wondered how I would get home but in the moment when we make these decisions the show must go on and indeed it did. My entry may have been decimated by the travelling conditions but the overall quality was still there in the dogs I had to go over. 1 Walker's Roxypark Spring Time. 7 month old red of good size. Head could be more rounded which meant ears were a little high set and not always dropping close to the cheek. Eye shape was good but could be darker, head proportions were good, great bone, front construction could be better, layback of shoulder was ok. Good spring of rib, longer cast overall. Moved with vigour, tailset ok, good coat texture, enjoying his day out today with his owner. 1 Jenkins' Kinsridge Witty Banter. Both first and second very similar in overall type. Great head and expression, typiest of heads, great teeth and bite, good neck into well laid shoulders, good length of upper arm into straight front, tight feet. Wells sprung ribs into short loin, short backed into correct tailset carried well. Moved with reach and drive, good coat texture, well presented and showed himself off very well. Pleased to award him the CC. 2 Gee's Watercroft Calling Time. Very similar in overall type to one, carries a lot of the same attributes just not quite the same front construction of first. Great coat texture, correct Norfolk head and bite, good eye, correct neck. Short backed, good boned and well presented. Moved with reach in drive just not quite as tight coming towards me. Pleased to award him the RCC. 3 Jenkins & McCourt's Kinsridge Crackshot TAF. 1 Baumbach's Wederdena's Harry Beau. Red male of lovey size, head of good proportions but could be stronger. Neck ok as was his shoulder placement. Bone was good, good spring of ribs, good bone. Moved very happily for his owner enjoying his day out. 1 Baumbach's Wederdena's Harry Beau. As per Junior Dog. 2 Walker's Hedgefield Brucey Baby. Rangier in overall type to first, strong head and expression, good bone with strong teeth. Head ok but lacked stop which spoilt his expression. Needs a darker eye. Tailset good. Coat coming through could benefit from more drive from behind with some road walking this would improve. 1 Brown's Dajean Dotty's Digger. Strong head and expression, good eye shape and size with a good head and strong jaw, head could have a better bite. Strong bone, front could be better, good tailset but could be shorter in back. Coat ok for texture, moved well behind. Well behave for his owner both in the class and line up well all exhibitors proved themselves to be very sporting. 1 Brown's Dajean Dotty's Digger. As before. 1 Jenkins' Kinsridge Tip The Wink. Feminine 6 month old puppy with a pretty head and expression. Good bite, correct neck, good shoulder placement with good bone for size. Short backed, loved her overall type, tailset good with good carriage. Great drive from behind will learn to use her front to its full potential with time but still so young and typically Norfolk in temperament. Presented and showed well. 1 Gee's Watercroft Gold Dust. 10 month old red, great type and size and overall shape. Great head expression and eye with correct bite, correct should but could do with a little more length in upper arm, short backed, good overall condition. Well presented with good coat texture, good drive from behind but not quite the reach in front, in good condition. ) 1 Thompson-Morgan's Belleville Ovation. 2 year old bitch, prettiest of heads and expressions, correct bite with correct dark eyes. Neatest of ears. Good neck into well laid shoulders though a little thick. Moved with reach and drive on side gait. However not as tight both fore and aft. Enough bone. Presented well, pleased to award he the RCC. 1 Gee's Watercroft Pop Picker. Two and a half year old red bitch of great overall size shape and type. Excellent head and expression with a scissor bite. Strong jaw, good bone, correct neck into good shoulders balanced with the same angles to the rear. This coupled with a short back, well spring ribs and a short loin. Tailset good though carriage could be better to be critical. Overall panted a great picture of a Norfolk, moved presented & showed well for their owner. Pleased to award her the CC & BOB. |
