I was very pleased with this good entry, with good depth of quality in all but one class. I found the usual Norfolk virtues, ie happy attitude & good driving hindquarters, in the majority. The recurrent fault of steep shoulder placement & short upper arm giving restricted wide front movement was evident in quite a few. But mouths were good - I found only one totally incorrect bite,
though a couple were a bit tight, & most were fairly clean!

Class 1534 PD (3 Entries) Abs: 0 first two both very attractive & promising -
1st: 4961 HORNE Miss D L & D Marchdens Mark My Words - very smart pup of good breed type, preferred his more correct size & longer ribcage. Excellent head of correct proportions & shape, good shoulders, front & bone. Short level back, excellent hindquarter construction, good stifle angulation & low hocks giving good drive. Movement sound & true. Presented in excellent coat.
2nd: 4973 PHILIP Mrs L & Mr M J Nordalset Made To Boogie – lovely pup but a size larger. Excellent head, good stop, strong muzzle & perfect bite. Well boned front legs, shoulders quite well laid back. A shade long in back, but not in ribs. Good hindquarters, quite well angulated & balanced mover. Good coat,
3rd: 4984 WOOLNOUGH Mrs K Northwool Rusty At Romance – nice type in good coat but not as soundly constructed as winners. Lacks drive when moving though quite neat, straight & true when viewed front & rear. Youngest of the trio, lots of time needed.
Class 1535 JD (1 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 4980 THOMPSON-MORGAN Mrs C S Belleville Call Of Duty – super black & tan, but so obstinate! Perfect head nicely curved skull, broad & strong enough for age (13mths), muzzle of correct length & good stop. Excellent teeth & bite. Well boned straight front legs & shoulders quite well laid back, with correct length neck for balance. Short level back, well ribbed body. Strong hindquarters, well bent muscled stifles, low set hocks, moving with drive, sound & true. Beautifully presented & smart. With maturity & more cooperativeness definitely CC quality!
Class 1536 PGD NO ENTRIES
Class 1537 LD (3 Entries) Abs: 0 – very very close between first 2 -
1st: 4955 GEE Mrs R Watercroft Chilli Pepper – smart red, excellent coat & presentation, sound body with level back & good length ribcage. Beautiful head, broad skull, good stop, strong muzzle, perfect teeth, very typical alert, appealing expression. Correct length neck flowing into very well lad back shoulders, straight front legs, good bone. Excellent, strong hindquarters, moving with good drive from well bent stifles & low hocks. Strides out very well in front, which won him the class, a pleasure to watch moving once he settled! RCC
2nd: 4948 BRITTEN Mrs D Krisma Dark N'stormy – most attractive black & tan, smaller, more compact ideal size, with good bone & substance. Very typical head of correct make & shape, most attractive expression. Not quite as good in neck & shoulder, but moves smartly & freely but not as much reach & drive as 1st. Short back, good ribs, level topline & good hindquarters. Super coat & condition.
3rd: 4983 WILSON Mrs S Pullemtugem Tumbllentern - attractive, alert & typical, but out of coat & not as soundly constructed as winners, thus didn’t move as well or keep a level topline.
Class 1538 OD (4 Entries) Abs: 0 – 4 good quality dogs -
1st: 4970 NEWTON Mrs N R Strathinver Sea The Stars – easy winner, super sound, handsome, excellent breed type & attitude! Head very similar to limit winner, broad curved skull, deep stop, short strong muzzle, good big teeth, correct scissor bite. Sparkling alert dark eyes, very appealing expression. Excellent neck, shoulders very well laid back – the best today – perfectly straight front legs, excellent bone. Strong body, short level back, good length ribcage. Moves with good stride & drives strongly from well-shaped hindquarters. First class jacket completed picture of star quality dog, champion today! Pleased to award 3rd CC, though was pushed hard by limit winner. But I’m afraid the bitch ‘demanded’ BOB!
2nd: 4965 JENKINS Miss D Ch Kinsridge Back Chat – smaller type, short & cobby that I prefer but not as soundly constructed in forequarters as 1st , thus less stride, though very neat tidy mover viewed front & rear. Very typical attractive head of excellent shape & proportions, fitting the breed standard, but I preferred winner’s oval darker eyes. Hindquarters well angulated & low set hocks moving in parallel. Won his place on type & balance.
3rd: 4945 ATKINSON Mrs M E Blakens I Look To You - handsome b/t of similar type to 1st but none of them could match the winner on shoulder placement, all 3 lacking correct layback. Lovely head & expression from dark eyes, & has good bite. Very well angulated hindlegs with good drive but overall movement less balanced & coordinated. Good quality coat presented well

1st: 4962 HURRION Miss K L & K L Ch Valentines Cherry Crumble – what a show girl, certainly knows she’s a champion & really pushed top winners hard, giving way to kennel mate for RCC! Fits standard to a ‘T’ , moves & shows with style & flare from well-constructed front & rear. Gorgeous head & expression, good bite & clean teeth. Just not quite in as good a coat as CC winner, but I do love her!
Class 1541 PB (9 Entries) Abs: 1- busy class of happy puppies, one or two a little unsure, the first three stood out for me, all need lots of time! -
1st: 4976 PHILLIPS Mr M Jaeva Kiss This – one of the youngest but I picked her out as she came in the ring, a little beauty of great promise, presented prettily in full puppy oat. Excellent head, eyes & teeth. Quite good in neck & shoulders, better than the rest. Good front & bone, short level back, good length ribs with correct depth for age. Very well angulated hindquarters moving with drive & was showing very well most of the time but a bit unsettled at end of class. She’d fully recovered for best puppy competition which she won as I’d fallen for her, but the dog pup was equally worthy. BP
2nd: 4956 GEE Mrs R Watercroft Diamons N'pearls – very attractive, showy, slightly older pup in excellent coat & condition. Not quite as short in back but good length ribs & excellent hindquarters, moving sound & free with good drive & level topline. Could have bit better shoulders, but straight well boned front legs striding out well. Happy, confident & eye catching.
3rd: 4951 DARNELL Mrs E D Jacquidon No Hesitation – very nice type, which this kennel seems to have, moved & showed very well in good coat. Not quite as free behind as above & less bone. But most promising, with typical head & expression & good teeth.

Class 1542 JB (4 Entries) Abs: 0 - 1 & 2 very close decision -
1st: 4981 THOMPSON-MORGAN Mrs C S Belleville Ovation – very smart, sound youngster, typical head, skull & muzzle in good shape & proportions, bright alert expression from dark eyes; good teeth. Good shoulders with enough layback, correct length neck, straight front legs, but not as much bone as 2nd. Short level back, body maturing well has good length ribcage. Strong well angulated hindquarters, driving action from low hocks, moves freely & tidily which won her 1st. Quality with promise.
2nd: 4977 STEVENSON Mrs J R Brickin Made For You – beautiful bitch who really appealed to me but let herself down moving, performing twirls as she went & throwing her legs about making proper assessment difficult! Lovely head, broad curved skull, good stop, shortish strong muzzle with correct bite. Shoulder placement & front good, well boned & good cobby body, long deep ribcage. Super hindquarters which powered her along in every way! I hope she settles down a bit as she is full of quality. Coat just going over.
3rd: 4960 GREEN Mrs P Wharfvalley Persuasion – very attractive & full of promise, still rather immature. Finer build than above & head needs to broaden though it has good length proportions & stop. Like many of the entry could be better in shoulders but has good well shaped hindquarters, so not quite as balanced moving as 1st though topline is level. Good texture coat just coming through.

Class 1543 PGB (5 Entries) Abs: 3
1st: 4950 COOPER Mr T M & Mrs L A Settrenda So Saucy – pleasing to go over, found sound construction, everything in correct proportions. Attractive typical head, bright dark eyes, good bite. Straight front, shoulders laid back ok, & quite good neck. Good texture coat, looking smart, compact body with good ribs. Strong well angulated hindquarters giving good sound movement.
2nd: 4954 GARDENER Mrs S Perrisblu Liberty at Danalas Sh.CM – very well trained & handled, moving smartly & soundly up & down but does lack stride & drive due to lack of enough angulation front & rear. Quite nice head, alert expression from good dark eyes, & has good teeth. Correct texture body coat.
Class 1544 LB (3 Entries) Abs: 0 – 3 lovely bitches,
1st: 4957 GEE Mrs R Watercroft Pick Of The Pops – beautiful eye-catching red of lovely type. Very soundly constructed & won here on her perfectly straight, true movement, overall balance & excellent coat. Most pleasing head with broad skull, good stop strong shortish muzzle & correct bite. Nicely laid back shoulders, straight well boned front legs, short level back, well ribbed cobby body, excellent hindquarters. One of my top 3 bitches making decisions very close.
2nd: 4979 STEVENSON Mrs J R Brickin Simplicity – equally good quality b/t but her erratic movement let her down. Very similar correct head with typical breed expression from mischievous dark eyes, good teeth. Good bone & substance, short back & deep long ribs. Not quite such good angulation of shoulders or hindquarters but nicely balanced overall & very appealing. Coat just going but texture good.
3rd: 4952 DARNELL Mrs E D Jacquidon Next Sensation – very attractive typical b/t with good head & alert expression from nice dark eyes, correct bite. Quite soundly made throughout though not so good in shoulders than both above & moved a bit wider at times, but good well angulated hindquarters & driving rear action. Coat just coming through. Has a lot to like about her.
Class 1545 OB (6 Entries) Abs: 2 – another trio of lovely Norfolks
1st: 4967 JENKINS Miss D Ch Kinsridge Top Tip – has the attitude of a total star, she demanded attention & the top awards! I was quite taken aback by how much she charmed me as she is rather different type to my usual taste, but she has a certain charisma that you cannot ignore! Ideal size, ultra short back & cobby body, well sprung good length ribcage. Super head of correct proportions & cheeky expression, though I must admit I would prefer a smaller, darker eye but this is a minor imperfection amongst her many merits. Good structure fore & hindquarters giving free striding gait from short legs. Harsh texture coat presented perfectly, stylish showgirl. CC & BOB. Congratulations on equalling breed record & subsequently attaining it.
2nd: 4963 HURRION Miss K L & K L Villassa Cherry Tart – loved this one who appealed to me being her mother’s (VB winner) daughter! Sweet expression from bright dark eyes, typical head of correct proportions & bite. Excellent neck flowing into well laid shoulders; very well-muscled & angulated hindlegs with low hocks, covers the ground well on the move, true straight reach & drive, coming & going. Short enough in back with good length ribs. Good quality coat coming through well, most attractive youngster. Took RCC from under the nose of LB winner, there was just something about her that clicked with me!
3rd: 4975 PHILLIPS Miss J Blakens Tootie Fruitie – completed a lovely line up, thank you! Very sound mover of good construction & overall type & balance. Not quite as strong in head as above two, slightly less mature, but dark eyed alert expression & good teeth. Excellent quality coat, presentation & condition short backed, cobby body.
