NORFOLK JUDGE BOURNEMOUTH 09

Norfolk Terriers

This is my first time judging this breed at this level.

PD (6,1a)

1 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Blacklace, super showman, standing head & tail up over plenty of ground, classic head with super expression, smart b/t jacket in top form, handled this ground well, a very professional performance to win the RCC & BP;

2 Phillips’ Jaeva Roger The Butler, just 6 months, a lovely baby, with everything to trouble the best, gorgeous head & eye, short back, lovely rear showing in his movement. Just needs more confidence. Handled so well to get the best out of him;

3 Smith’s Javidel Come What May.

JD (2)

1 Phillips & Sargent’s Jaeva Pocket Rocket, b/t put down in top condition, excellent for size, compact, good legs & feet, a good head developing, lovely expression. Just needs to firm up in rear movement;

2 Saltmarsh’s Pipridges Hot Basil, strong dog, that did not have the compact body of 1, looks high on the leg, body needs to drop. Super harsh coat & good masculine head, moved well.

PGD (2)

Didn’t like seeing the Norfolks stacked in this class, they did not need it.

1 Rayner’s Mstease Making Mayhem, smart b/t, in really good form, good head & eye, ear could be a touch smaller, good muzzle & bite, good length of neck, & level topline. Could have more spring to rib. Moved well;

2 Owen’s Harrijen Tegwen Tangle, good shape to skull. Muzzle could be stronger. Short back but a little leggy. Good coat, well presented & moved well.

LD (5,1)

1 Stevenson’s Brickin Told You So, two good reds topping this class, preferred this ones head, so masculine, with dark eye, neat ears & strong muzzle, short in back, stood over plenty of ground, moving freely;

2 Thompson-Morgan’s Kapitada Dandy Lion, lovely for body make & shape, so typy, good for size, good forequarters, topline & rear. Head seemed plain against 1;

3 Owens’ Hoathnor Jackanory.

OD (5,2)

1 Jenkins’ Ch Kinsridge Top Dollar, if I close my eyes & picture a Norfolk this is what I would see, everything you would want him to have & to be, he has – excellent head with broad skull, neat small ears, kindly dark eye, strong muzzle with good bite, arched neck leading to good shoulders & level topline, strong legs & feet, excellent spring of rib, good rear angulation, & the best well set full tail, a compact dog full of quality, moved out effortlessly. CC & BOB;

2 Cooper’s Jaeva Tril-Bee among Settrenda, unlucky to meet 1 in such top form, a steady mover, showing so well, lots to like about him, but did not match 1 in head quality. Very well presented;

3 H Jackanory.

PB (6

) Lovely class of reds, I needed more placings.

1 Stevenson’s Brickin Neat And Tidy, lovely size, of super make & shape, compact & chunky but still feminine, super head, with excellent expression, small neat ears, good bite, lovely topline & tailset, moving well, beautifully presented, one for the future;

2 Jenkins’ Little Red Head at Kinsridge, another super mover, this little girl has got it all. Just needs time for body to drop, as she has a little too much daylight under her. Good jacket presented in top form;

3 Phillips’ Jaeva In The Limelight.

JB (5,2)

1 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Intuition, easy winner here, beautiful red with the very best of heads, broad skull, neat small ears, dark eye of good shape, strong muzzle, excellent muzzle to skull ratio, good neck & shoulders & the best spring of rib, short back & level topline, well muscled moving freely, very attentive to her handler, I liked her a lot, & pushed hard in the challenge;

2 Hurrion’s Valentines Cherry Crumble, a good headed compact bitch, who showed very well here, good free & easy movement won her the place. Just in between coats;

3 Harpham & Hulance’s Diggery Sail The Wave.

PGB (5)

1 Jones & Phillips’ Jaeva Bag Of Tricks, beautiful headed bitch with excellent red jacket. I loved her expression, dark eye, black button nose & small neat ears. Good muzzle & bite. Arched neck with ruff, level topline, short back, very good balance to body, sturdy legs & feet moved out well. RCC;

2 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Roll The Dice, could have easily won here, but just preferred head properties of 1, not to say that there is any less quality in head here, I had to spilt hairs. Another compact, feminine, beautifully moving typy bitch from this kennel. How does she do it;

3 Simpson’s Megalex Elusive Dream.

LB (9,2)

1 Stevenson’s Brickin Skip Away, liked this typy bitch for size & movement, beautiful head, good neck, level topline, well made cobby body, good tailset carried well. Coat looked like it was changing, but she had enough quality to win here;

2 Stones’ Cerasus Super Trooper, well deserved place for this honest little bitch, typy & compact with good head & expression, good front & rear explaining her fluid movement;

3 Kennelbourne’s You Too at Nicnips.

OB (3,1)

1 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Lucky Dice, very feminine lady who just showed her socks off, has the same stamp of small, compact, agile body of substance, as those kennelmates of hers, beautiful head & expression, dark eye, good stop, neat well set ears, strong neck, level topline, super rear angles, giving her that driving movement, this movement & her pleasure in showing off tipped the CC her way, her 3rd;

2 Howard’s Hatchwoods Flamenco, not so happy to show off her virtues as 1. Slightly longer cast, moves very well, lovely head conformation, expressive eyes, neat ears & good bite, good red jacket, well presented.
