NORFOLK BLACKPOOL 21 Judge(s): MR MATTHEW ODDIE Thanks to the Blackpool Committee for inviting me to judge Norfolks without CCs. I had an excellent entry and I thank the exhibitors for supporting me. I was lucky to have some lovely dogs to go over in both sexes. 1 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville High Life. Most mature in this class. A very typey dog having good skull to muzzle proportions, broad skull and good stop. Dark oval eyes and good ears. Medium length neck in to a short cobby body, with short back and good ribs. Well angulated both ends with ideal bone, straight front legs and good feet. In good coat and condition. Moved soundly when settled. BJ and Junior G4, well done! 2 Gee’s Watercroft Tea Leaf. Good head and dark oval eye. Correct ears, ok in neck into good front, ribbing and balanced hinqauters. A touch longer in body. In good jacket and moved soundly. Just needs to body up and settle. BPD. 3 Hurrion’s Way Too Cool For Choos. 1 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Expectation. Stood alone but a lovely dog. Good head with correct proportion, strong muzzle and dark oval eye. Ok in neck into well laid shoulder and good length and return of upper arm. Compact body with short back and good top line. Well turned stifles. Good bone. A little unsettled on the move today but from what I could see he was sound and covered the ground well. 1 Powell’s Watercroft Brown Boots. Ok in head, dark oval eye, good stop and ear shape. Ok in neck, well sprung ribs and good topline. In good harsh coat with really good bone. Showed well but not as sound on the move as I would like. 1 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Way Cool. A high quality dog with lots to like. A smaller more compact type, with everything in proportion and fitting together well. Very breed typical with excellent head, correct ears and dark oval eye. Really good neck into well laid shoulder and upper arm. Well sprung ribs, short back, cobby in body and with good bone for his size, with straight front legs and well turned stifles. Well set and carried tail. Moved very soundly up and down with good reach and drive in profile. Really liked him. BD. 2 Smith’s Ch Javidel Despicable May. Another lovely dog and a very worthy Champion who was close up to one. So lovely to go over with everything in the right place, lovely head, good proportions, oval eyes, nice ears, good neck and well made both ends with short back and well sprung ribs, good quality bone and was in good coat and condition. Showed well and used himself well in profile and going away, just preferred the slightly more positive front action of first. RBD. 3 Powell’s Watercroft Brown Boots. 1 Gee’s Watercroft Early Bird. This little bitch really impressed me and showed her head off which was lovely to see. Her head needs to fill out which will come in time but she has correct proportions and eye, used her ears well. Good neck. Well sprung ribs, short back, ok in bone, really well angulated and moved soundly holding her top line and shape. Her coat was just coming through. Handled really well to win BPB and BPIB. 2 Mitchell’s Swalefield Clear The Air. Ok in head and lovely dark oval eye. Good medium neck and well sprung ribs, ok in bone and feet. Balanced angles. Slightly longer in body. Showed well in good coat. Sounder on the move than third. 3 Wilkinson’s Crillmere Carolina. A nice class of bitches. 1 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Natural High. A lovely bitch to go over with quality. Nice head with broad skull and good stop, well proportioned. Used her ears well, with correct length neck into a good front with correct bone and straight legs. Short back, well sprung ribs with good depth. Good tail and set. Well angulated behind, hocks well let down. Moved soundly and with reach and drive, holding her topline and covering the ground smoothly. In good harsh coat. RBB. 2 Gee’s Watercroft In The Que. Another really lovely bitch who was close up to first. Well handled. Beautiful head, eye and ears. Good neck. Good front and balanced back end. Big ribs, good depth, really good topline and tail set. Moved soundly, driving well from behind. In good coat, showed well. 3 Smith’s Javidel Oh Me Oh May. 1 Gee’s Watercroft Sticky Toffee. A top quality bitch, very typey and well made, all parts fitting together well and everything balanced and in proportion. Beautiful head, dark oval eye, really good ears, good neck, well sprung ribs, short back, compact, holding her topline. Clean well laid shoulder and return of upper arm. Hindquarters had good turn of stifle and were well muscled. Good bone with round compact feet. Tail well set and in proportion to her body. Had driving hind movement, was true in front, and held herself well. BB and BOB with a group shortlist. Handled well. Congratulations, loved her! 2 Hurrion’s Villassa Cherry Tart. Lovely head, eye and ear. Good neck, well made in front with balanced hindquarters. Good ribbing, compact and with good top line and tail set. Ok in bone, moved so soundly with drive really covering the ground. Not in as good a coat as first today. 1 Hurrion’s Ch Valentines Cherry Crumble. An old favourite of mine. Was great to see her again. She is a lovely Norfolk terrier and at thirteen and a half she’s not showing her age at all, still has all the breed essentials, moved so soundly and still in great coat and overall condition. Love her. BV. |
