MANCHESTER WELSH KC 16 Manchester Terrier Judge: Mr J Barney BEST OF BREED : 4893 CARTER, Mr K & HARRISON Ch Digelsa Declaration MANCHESTER JUDGE WELSH KENNEL CLUB 16 Manchester Terriers Thank you for making my day such a pleasurable one & I thoroughly enjoyed judging the breed at this level for the first time. Thankfully the weather wasn’t too cool, so dogs able to show to their best. Many thanks for everyone taking my decisions in a sporting manner. MPD (2) 1 Downie’s Egloshayle Prince Piran, two different types in this class, this boy won on type & head. Well balanced head with well set on ears & used them more alertly than 2. Good front with straight legs & enough give in the front pastern. Good depth of brisket & tuck-up. Preferred overall balance does need to settle in rear movement; 2 Atkinson’s Trueflow Bit Little, smaller & less mature baby to 1 & needs to grow on. Well marked with good rich tan colour, correct topline & tuck-up, moved well enough. JD (2) 1 Freer’s Hawthorn Chap at Felfree, lovely masculine head & ear, good forehand into good legs & feet, crest to neck. A good brisket & tuck-up, well made rear & moved well both ways. Liked his tail a little at times, put that down to being a young male. RCC; 2 Holmes’ Egloshayle Black Dylan, would have liked a tighter ear carriage. Correct bone, straight legs & correct front pastern into good feet. Well tucked up, moved with drive. Up to size. PGD (1) 1 Adams & Harris’ Eaglespur Prince Charming, well marked with good coat & colour condition. Pleasing head, ears need to settle a little. Good depth of brisket & tuck-up, little straight behind. Not moving to his best advantage today. OD (5,2a) 1 Carter & Harrison’s Ch Digelsa Declaration, in super hard condition with a gleam to his coat. Correct marking & rich tan colour. Classic Manchester head & expression full of type. Well made front construction. Straight legs & good pastern. Nice feet. Good depth of brisket & tuck-up. Kept his topline on the move, & was a happy person, alert & keen. CC & BOB; 2 Saville’s Ch Calastoa’s Man In The Mirror of Dobermatian, didn’t quite have the drive & reach of the 1 on the move in profile. Again another with a good front & feet with good lay of shoulder. Super earset & carriage, really alert. Very masculine head full of work. Well ribbed & good depth of brisket into good tuck-up. Little more straight behind than 1; 3 Knight’s Ch Westbank Blue Diamond for Talanors. PB (3) 1 Walker’s Talanors Treat Me Good at Sizlin, good typy bitch, well balanced good size & good make & shape. Lovely correct head & ear with kind eye. Good depth of brisket & tuck. Good topline on the move with correct tailset. Very feminine bitch with a good future. BP; 2 Parry & Greenaway’s Erkenwyne Miss Celyn, good head & expression, ears need to settle. Well made front construction & correct feet. Good bone. Well tucked up, preferred her type to 3; 3 Marshall’s Talanors Treat Me Special at Jepejo. JB (2) 1 Oxley’s Digelsa D’Amour, good typical head & ear into good neck & shoulder & well made forehand. Correct depth of brisket. & good bone & feet. Well marked & correct colour. Won on movement; 2 Purkis’ Joemario Don’t Look Ethel at Chilsham, a good honest type, just refused to use her ears to best advantage today. Good bone & feet, like a little less across the shoulder, good depth of brisket & nicely made rear construction. Could be moved at a slightly faster pace. PGB (5) 1 Barlow’s Nightfury Bold Venture, just preferred overall balance & maturity. Good make & shape & good forehand. Colour & coat condition good. Pulled herself into a good shape on the move. Well ribbed & correct tuck-up & well made rear; 2 T Treat Me Good at S; 3 Heller’s Limoncello Cecilia Beaux. LB (4,1) 1 Peacham’s Felfree A Touch Of Glam for Manrio, pleasing feminine head & alert expression with good eye. Well set on ear & carriage. Good forehand construction. Moderate rear construction & well let down to hock. Came together on the move & won on balance & movement; 2 Saville’s Querceti Isadora for Dobermatian, a well balanced bitch, well made with a good depth of brisket & tuck-up, good hear & ear, little straight behind & would have liked a little more rear drive; 3 Forshaw’s Calastoa’s Lucky Star. OB (6,1) 1 Saxton, Dale & Emrick’s Ch Rattustrap Imperial Red, a good class to judge, bits to like about both the 1 & 2. Liked the flow through the neck & shoulder of 1 into a good front assembly. Good wedge shape to head with well set on ear. Feminine expression. Good lay of shoulder into a good rib & tuck-up. Just preferred her balance on the move in profile. Moved true both ways. CC; 2 Scanlan’s Ch Digelsa Dixie Chick at Pantycelyn, mature bitch, in good hard condition. Another with a good head & ear. Well carried, & always looking alert. In good coat with a sheen to it. Good rich tan colour & markings. Good depth of brisket & tuck-up. Moved well away & in profile. RCC; 3 Cawley’s Ch Marlablue In A Twirl. J A BARNEY
