MANCHESTER WELSH KC 12 Judge: Mr A Wight BEST OF BREED : 5386 BEARDOW Mr & Mrs M Ch Int Ch World Talanors Hellova Treat For Sipowit MANCHESTER JUDGE WELSH KC 12 Manchester Terriers I did so enjoy myself among the Manchester Terrier afficionados & although the entry was quite small, there was a cheerful & enthusiastic ringside who supported every class winner. MPD (0). PD (1) A. JD (0). PGD (1) 1 Charlton’s Digelsa Diamond Geezer at Lizelms, this spankingly conditioned handsome headed dog was a good start to the day. Nice head which has length, the skull flat & ears are very good. I suppose his eye could be that little bit smaller to his advantage, but his expression is keen. Well ribbed, has a decent length of neck, fairly narrow in front & has adequate bend of stifle. Richly toned jacket shone with well being. He is a bit over proud of his tail on the move & regrettably he toes in quite noticeably in front action. LD (8) 1 Olbinson’s Paucl in Andoni, I liked his wither height & overall balanced shape as he is fairly compact with a very good underline rising to a supple loin & sweeping croup line. His head I really admired, lean yet still doggy, clean cheeked, dark eyes & well placed & carried ears. Coat was glossy, very active on the move, albeit I would prefer him to be less proud of his tail; 2 Clowes’ Churnet Canzone, what a restless handful this chap proved to be for his patient handler. Fidgets quite a bit, though is easy to handle on the table. So well ribbed & muscled, really good hindquarters with firm hocks. Head is long, lean & clean with good flat skull. Eyes could be a little darker in colour, but his expression pleased me. Good thumbprints & again shining coat condition; 3 Clifton’s Gloryline Henry The Seventh. OD (6) 1 CC & BOB, Ch/Int/World Ch Talamors Hellova Treat for Sipowit, I just loved this very handsome dog from the moment he was stacked. Everything just seems to fit so well giving a picture of athletic elegance, super reach of neck which is nicely crested, clean in front with the straightest of forelimbs, his body shape seems to be just flowing curves & muscles, he gleamed with well being. Head is clean, smooth cheeked, lovely ears & such a good expression. Best side action of the day. Pleased to learn he was shortlisted in the group; 2 RCC, Norris’ Ch Brookstream Louis de Blue, size larger all through but again a most striking dog on the stack. Shapely, fairly compact, excellent reach of neck, really good cut up & that sweeping line from his loin over the croup to a well set tail. Being taller, his head is a tad wider in skull than 1 but it is so balanced, has really good eyes & ears. Another who was just a little too robust with his tail carriage; 3 Morris’ Mansiya Word To The Wise at Calastoa. MPB (0). PB (4) 1 Morris’ Calastoa’s Lucky Star, what a poppet! Has the impact factor as she stacks so beautifully. Pretty head, excellent reach of neck, firm forelegs & tight feet, ample ribbing, stunning backline & good hind angulation. Coat was like polished velvet, the colours rich & clear. She did all that was asked of her on the move. BP; 2 Morris’ Calastoa’s Who’s That Girl at Brookstream, another really promising baby who I see is litter sister to 1 so they share many of the same attributes. Has a degree of style, shapely, long lean head, good eyes, decent neck length. Very good side action, in coat condition; 3 Palmer’s Egloshayle Fallen Angel. JB (2) 1 C Who’s That Girl at B; 2 Jones’ Wystry Philotes at Barleydust, oh dear! This little lady would sooner have been anywhere else but in this ring. Her expression said ‘glum’, she did not really enjoy being table handled though put up with it, & on the ground she was half hearted in her action as she was sent around the ring. Nice size, certainly compact & in good body. But she was unhappy! PGB (0). LB (4) 1 Smith’s Calastoa’s Lady of Meltham at Simjest, richly coloured package with really lovely head. So bitchy, this clean lean, flat cheeked wedge with neat ears & lovely eyes had much appeal. Has a very good underline, well defined thumbprints, in sparkling bloom. Side on her action is so steady but she can be a shade erratic when fore viewed; 2 Knight’s Talamor Taylor Made Treat, out of a smaller mould but most attractive when stacked. Really good reach of neck, head carriage so good & the head itself is so balanced & lean. Let herself down on the move, coming towards me too wide in front & not showing the same rear drive as Lady; 3 Hammett’s Digelsa Double Take for Bryedal. OB (4) 1 CC, Oxley’s Digelsa De Ja Vu, a cracking bitch who just looks the part as she is built on such flowing lines. Never seems to stand incorrectly & her head is a joy to go over. Feminine, smooth flat skulled wedge, lovely eyes & neat ears all aid her cause. Body shape is so good & of course she looked like freshly polished jet! I felt she & the BOB made a lovely pair & when the beautiful BP joined them for a lap of honour, I was very happy indeed; 2 RCC, Leigh’s Calastoa English Rose to Mansiya, another who is surely title bound. Lovely size, compact in outline which flows from a really good neck over well defined withers, slim in front, ribs to the elbow then sweeping up to the loin. Well muscled hindquarters with very good second thigh. Not quite the smooth side action of 1 but surely her time will come. ALBERT WIGHT |
