MANCHESTER SKC MAY 11 Judge(s) MRS P A BLAY DCC CH CHURNET CONCERTO AT MENFREYA (MRS L C BRANDER) Manchester Terriers JD (2) 1 Dale & Saxton’s Rattustrap Black Sheep, mature junior who moved well, if slightly loose in front at present, this should tighten with maturity. Good make & shape with good markings, good eye of a nice colour & shape, well set & carried ears despite the wind lifting them! Set up he is balanced with a good depth & width of chest, correct for the Standard, correct topline & tailset, promising, quality boy who showed well; 2 Olbinson’s Pauceline Andoni, still a puppy & was unsure in the windy tent, this affected not only his showing but he persisted in tucking his rear under & spoiling his outline. He has potential for he is of a good size & shape when he settles & moves OK when he is not worried, perfectly happy with me going over him & he has a good head shape & eye, colour just needs to clear but he has a well set tail. PG (3) 1 R Black Sheep; 2 Doherty’s Hagrid Tobias Longbottom, balanced outline with a lovely topline & tailset, masculine head of a good shape & size, well set & carried ears, good eye of a correct shape & colour, good neck & depth of chest, good hindquarters, moved well but would like he a touch tighter in movement coming towards, showed well. LD (5) 1 Renshaw & Robinson’s Talanors Smart Treat with Westbank, larger dog than my preference but he is in proportion & very masculine in outlook, well carried ears of the correct size & shape, excellent eye & expression, correct markings, good mouth & head proportions, good neck & shoulders, well muscled with a good depth of chest & a nice topline & well set & carried tail, moved well on well boned legs & feet, showed well to take the RCC; 2 Dunford, Akrigg & Walton’s Quixol Alexander, his size was more to my preference & he has a masculine head & expression, but today was loose in front movement & carried his tail a bit high which spoilt his profile but set up he is a nice type & balanced with good bone & feet, well marked with good thumbprints, well set & carried ears, head of good proportions & a good neck well set into correct shoulders; 3 Norris’ Brookstream Louis de Blue. OD (2) 1 Brander’s Ch Churnet Concerto at Menfreya, stallion of a dog who is balanced with such a masculine head & expression, good eyes of the correct colour & shape, well set & carried ears of the correct size & shape, well muscled hindquarters & a correct topline & tailset carried well on the move, good neck & shoulders & a good depth of chest & strong loin, good bone & feet, moved well especially on profile, good markings. CC; 2 Goodwin’s Digelsa Dionysis, smaller type who is not quite as masculine as 1 in outlook, well made with lovely neck & shoulders, good topline & ribcage, good bone & feet, good body proportions, he showed & moved well & looked good in profile, good markings & a good head & expression, well set & carried ears & a good eye. JB (4) 1 Knight’s Talanors Taylor Made Treat, pretty puppy bitch with such a feminine head & expression, lovely balanced head with well set & carried ears & a good eye of the correct shape & colour, good body proportions with a lovely neck & shoulder, good markings with lovely bone & feet, moved & showed well for one so young. BP; 2 Dunford & Akrigg’s Paucelin Armarna by Quixol, nicely made youngster who threw away her chances by deciding she was not going to move well! Shame for she is well made & very feminine with a good head & eye, well carried ears & a nice shape when she relaxed, good hindquarters & a well set & carried tail, when she settles I am sure she will do well; 3 Leigh’s Mansiya A Tad Bad. PGB (2) 1 Dale & Saxton’s Egloshayle Sea Sprite of Rattustrap, quality bitch, lovely type of a good make & shape, she is a nice size & so very feminine, pretty head & expression framed by good sized & shaped ears, good neck & shoulders, she has good body proportions & is of a good size, nice markings, bone & feet, showed well; 2 Leigh’s Calastoa’s English Rose to Mansiya, longer cast bitch who was affected by the windy conditions, she kept flying her ears with the noise in the tent which was a shame for when she settled she moved well & held a good topline & tailset, good neck & shoulders & a nice coat, good hindquarters, bone & feet, pretty head & expression. LB (3) 1 Dunford & Akrigg’s Quixol Pandora, lovely type of bitch of a good size & shape, she has lovely body proportions with a good front, neck & shoulders, very feminine in outlook with a lovely head & expression, good ears well carried & set, good markings, leg & bone, moved & showed well to win the class & RCC; 2 Steel’s Brookstream Blue Lady, lovely bitch who was a touch narrow in front for ideal but she has a very feminine head & expression, good body proportions & moved well in profile using her good shoulders & front & well muscled hindquarters to advantage, good depth of chest; 3 Knight’s Talanors Special Treat. OB (3) 1 Oxley’s Ch Digelsea Double Entendre, cracking bitch with everything I was looking for, she is a good size & shape, balanced & moved with such style & precision, so very feminine in outlook with lovely markings to her head with a good eye of a good colour & shape, well set & carried ears, excellent neck & shoulders, good topline & tailset, well muscled hindquarters & good bone & feet, a privilege to judge this quality bitch. CC & BOB; 2 Knight’s Talanors Tomorrows Dreams, again a typy mature bitch with good hindquarters & a good topline & tailset, well marked with a feminine head & expression, good depth of chest with just enough forechest for perfection, good bone & feet, of a good size & shape, moved well; 3 Leigh’s Mansiya Cosmopolitan.
