MANCHESTER JUDGE PAIGNTON 18
It was a privilege to judge at this very welcoming show, which always has that special Devon atmosphere. The quality of dogs was exceptional and made for some close decisions. The indoor area does not suit all dogs and I believe that this showed in some of the dogs movement and performance.

1st: 1374 BOOT Mr C. Harliboo Word Gets Around. BP. 7mth old. Up to size, but generally balanced throughout. Hopefully he wont grow on anymore and will fill out his smart frame. Lovely head, good wedge with strength and was well filled. Nicely shaped eyes, good dentition, ears need to settle. Good markings, clear, rich tan, clean thumbprints and small vent. Front narrow and straight and nice tight well knuckled feet. Good rear angulation. Moved OK straight out and back, little proud of his tail. BP

1st: 1376 GOODWIN Mr & Mrs A & J A. Digelsa Date Night At Holtaire. 15 mth bitch. Very nice young bitch. The best of heads, wedge, narrow, tight lips, good bite, dark eye, tidy well placed ears. Best neck of the day, long and tapering with arched crest, no signs of throatiness. Clean shoulders and well placed front. Lovely depth of chest and good ribbing, with well defined tuck up. Correct arch over loin and tidy tailset. Stood four square on tidy well knuckled feet. Marked clearly, with good tan and small vent. Moved freely around the ring, gracefully covering the ground but with purpose, true both ways. Stood in the challenge, today she looked a little immature, with the need to fill and blossom and show the required ‘substance’. Her time will come and she will hit top honours regularly.

1st: 1375 CAWLEY Miss B R Marlablue Queen Bee.17 mth bitch. Very fine throughout, would like more of her all the way through. She is pleasing for overall shape and balance, giving a clean correct outline. Sweet feminine head, good through neck, correct arch over loin and correct tailset. Markings were clear and a small vent. Moved steadily, but seemed very unsettled, which affected her performance and the position/ use of her ears.

2nd: 1381 OLBINSON, Miss L A & KELLY Miss M B. Rattustrap Citra At Carapast. A lovely head on this young lady, sparkling eye and great set of ears, with a typical Manchester expression. Good through neck, excellent depth of chest and substance through body. Good angles throughout but not the tailset of one. Nails in need of a pruning, which spoilt the impression of the feet.. 1st: 1377 GREENSLADE Mr D & Mrs P Utterbygreen Mint Chocolat . Lot to like about this bitch..Great for overall size, balance and smart throughout,, nothing exagerated. Feminine head, dark eye, great ears and set, with typical expression. Excellent front, straight forelegs with well laid back shoulders. Good depth of chest and Good tuck up. Substance through body and correct rise over loin. Carried her tail nicely on the move. Moved well to win the class. She went on to win the RCC, however was not quite as positive in the challenge and tended to crab, which cost her.
2nd: 1380 KNIGHT Mr C & Mrs G. Talanors Diamond Treat. This young lady was not a happy bunny at all today. Longer cast than one, but good for overall type. Smart through head, good wedge. Adequate depth of chest, arch over loin, decent rear angulation. OK for bone but would like a little more substance. Clean markings, moved OK, when settled.
