MANCHESTER JUDGE NATIONAL TERRIER 10

Mancheter Terriers

It was also nice to see entries in the breeders classes. Generally most entrants were to type & size the stronger being the bitches.

Movement was not at its best but not serious to penalise, also the traditional thumbprints in some cases were so indistinct one could hardly see them

MPD (1)

1 Renshaw’s Talanors Smart Treat with Westbank, promising youngster with nicely forming head & overall picture of bone to size. Was nervous & unsettled at times which no doubt he will get over with more practice. Coming up to size for his age.

PD (1)

1 Hockley & Roberts’ Harkeats Intrepid Icon at Gwenkaz, unsettled on table & on the move but is another promising youngster, better sized & fits the picture, head shows a nice wedge shape, good ear carriage, dark quizzing eyes, correct dentition, bodying through at just the right rate, moved well. BP.

JD (4,1a)

1 Dunford & Akrigg’s Quixql Alexander, larger size but presents a good picture, nicely shaped wedge head, ear carriage, dark eyed, correct dentition, well developing quarters, neat feet, clearly marked. Front needs to tighten as tends to toe;

2 Beardow’s Talanors Hellova Treat for Sipowitz, smaller in size to 1 but has all the virtues, presents a good overall picture of substance to size, head well shaped with a good ear carriage, quarters in proportion. However can lose his topline when standing if overstretched (handler must watch for this). Moved well;

3 Brown & Arundel’s Browl Potters Pickles.

JD (1)

1 Clowe’s Churnet Canzone, small but nervous. Good overall conformation. Movement pulls over at front & is disjointed could be due to nerves.

PGD (2)

1 Goodwin’s Digelsa Dionysis, what an eyecatcher, the moment he came into the ring he was there, all virtues from head to toe, in good condition, well balanced, clearly defined head, keen expression, nice crest of neck set onto shoulders, quarters have the correct angulation & nice turn of stifle which shows in his movement that is sound & with drive. Well worthy of his placings & I am sure he will be an asset to the breed. CC & BOB;

2 Symington’s Quixol Havoc, smaller in size & appeared lethargic. Fits the Standard although does appear ‘long’ in back & lacks rise over loins when standing.

LD (3)

1 Brander’s Churnet Concertp at Menfreya, either of these dogs could have changed places. Another good dog with all required Standard points & sound movement. RCC;

2 Jeynes’ Browdel Blace Muskateer, larger in size to 1, otherwise has all virtues including sound movement;

3 Holmes’ Egoshayle Black Carlyn.

OD (3)

1 Norris’s Ch Brookstream Marcus Banks, his title says it all, couldn’t fault, pleasure to ‘go over’. In challenge appeared to have lost interest; moved OK;

3 Morris’ Calaster Amber Nectar.

MPB (1)

1 Evan’s Coombelane New Beginning, skittish & needs to settle. Head is developing & one can see the wedge clearly, loose ear carriage, correct dentition. Quarters still need to tighten, movement was difficult to assess as she was ‘pulling over’, this should improve with maturity.

PB (1)

1 Harkeats’ Imperal Imp, another promising youngster & one of the better movers, presents a good picture of the Standard with nicely shaped head, eyes, correct dentition & overall conformation. BPB. JB (4) Both 1 & 2 bitches in this class were to type & could have changed places. 1 Coleclough’s Quixol Desdemona at Coleburke, all virtues including size, moved soundly;

2 Dunsford & Akrigg’s Quixol Pandora, as stated both sisters were to type & good movers the difference between the two was the size & this young lady was a ‘tadge’ taller;

3 Reeves & Harkeats’ Imperial Imp.

NB (0).

PGB (3)

Another class where 1 & 2 could have changed places, both breed by the same breeder & a credit to her.

1 Hemsell’s Tetani Spirit Of The Wind, good all over conformation to size with one of the clearer marked, head wedge is clearly defined, dark ‘quizzy’ eyes with good ear carriage, correct dentition, moved well;

2 Hemsell’s Tetani Kesenny Dhu, another bitch with good conformation to size & sound movement. Preferred markings of 1;

3 de Lavis Trafford’s Kimblewick Tallulah with Tyburn.

LB (6)

1 Churm’s Digelsa Dream Maker of Wystry, well presented, fits the picture, elegant with nice feminine expression, all major points were there (including size) & good movement;

2 O’Neill’s Megellan Thunder Bird, another bitch nicely sized & well balanced. Ears were not her fortune;

3 Hemsell’s Tetani Spirit Vision.

OB (5)

1 Brown & Arundel’s Browdl Beatrice Potter, feminine & to type, fits the Standard to perfection. Moved well, although at times A little unsettled but this could be overlooked by her virtues. CC;

2 de Lavis Trafford’s Tyburn Lotis, appears shorter in back to 1 but gives good overall picture to proportion & type, moved soundly. RCC;

3 Hemsell’s Tetani Princess Of Darkness. BREEDERS Lovely class, it was a pleasure to see all the dogs/bitches enjoying themselves in their family groups. Breeders also to be congratulated on the sound quality of their dogs/bitches. One handler in particular deserved a medal for handling all four dogs/bitches on her own. 1 Dunford’s Quixol;

2 Hemsell’s Tetani.
