MANCHESTER JUDGE NAT DOG SHOW 09

Manchester Terriers

PD (2)

1 Creber & Beardon’s Talanors Hellova Treat for Sipowitz, nice puppy of good size with decent bone, good head, eye, bite & ears when he chose to use them. Well laid shoulder, topline & lovely quarters. Moved out very well for one so young, altogether very promising. BP & PG4;

2 Carter’s Joemario Bradley Beginning at Aflilador, bigger dog, does not have the front of 1 but good strong quarters. Good colour & markings, nice eye, decent ears but he is very young & like most Manchester puppies is a bit erratic.

JB (3,1)

1 Holmes’ Egloshayle Black Carlin, difficult class as both dogs have faults but this one has a better shoulder. Moved very well, especially when his handler relaxed a little. Good head, eye & bite, very fit, a big dog with messy markings but a wonderful tan;

2 Dale’s Megellan Rumble at Rattustrap, better size than 1 but not the front which showed in his movement. A lovely character with the best of ears & markings.

PGD (3,2)

1 St Clair’s Mimbre First Mate, not an easy choice, they both have faults & pluses. I preferred the overall picture & better temperament of this one. He is very fit with good head, markings, eye & bite with a well held tail, lovely character;

2 Noden’s Lantaka Hector, not enthusiastic about showing & being handled, his front is not his fortune but is the correct size, well proportioned, length to height & very good bone. The Standard does say that the breed should have substance which is difficult to achieve at the correct size but he has both.

LD (2)

1 Morris’ Calstoa Amber Nectar, elegant young dog with such a stylish head, well held ears, good eye & bite, add to that he is well made overall with strong quarters so moves well with drive commanding the ring. His tan & markings are excellent & the coat is clean & strong. He gleams with health & fitness. CC & BOB;

2 Pyne’s Newtonian Black Rod, always a pleasure to go over this dog, he has such a well modelled head with a neck that is crested, of good length, going into excellent shoulders. I wish he was a bit more doggy & pushy, it would finish the package. He is unfortunate at the moment to be competing against some really exceptional dogs.

OD (4)

1 Norris’ Ch Brookstream Marcus Banks, lovely dog who I admired when I went over him as a puppy. He has of course fulfilled that promise with excellent conformation, marking, head etc. He is presented & shown well but did not move with conviction & had to give way to his son. RCC;

2 Braybrook’s Gloryline Sir Thomas More, nice dog, very elegant with good head, ears, eye & bite, well laid shoulders & a decent topline but not the quarters;

3 Green’s Ch Newtonain Slim Shady.

PB (5,4)

1 Wallace’s Manchenoir Sunmoonstars, elegant puppy, well made all round, nicely marked, good topline & well held tail, moving out well, was not doing ears today but they were in the right place sufficiently to win the class;

2 Knight’s Talanors Special Treat, does not have the shoulder of 1 but has lots to like, head, ears, tan, markings & is nicely proportioned;

3 Palmer’s Egloshayle Tangleberry.

JB (5)

1 Churms’ Digelsa Dream Maker at Wystry, lovely young bitch, well made, liked her head, ears, eye & markings. Altogether stylish & move well;

2 Palmer’s Egloshayle Black Rosewyn, very fit with a strong coat, nice but a bit timid;

3 O’Neill’s Megellan Thunderbird.

PGB (4)

1 Over’s Faolan Andromeda, elegant, well made, clean & fit with a lovely head & expression with good ears. She moved very well too;

2 Geraghty’s Tyburn Laodice, my sort of bitch, a lot of dog under your hand but still to size. She is well made, fit & moved well. Not quite the elegance of 1 but I found it hard to choose between them;

3 Braybrook’s Tudorbrook My Venturess.

LB (7,6)

1 Dunford & Akrigg’s Quixol Bret April, won the class & the RCC on her general excellent conformation. She moved & stood without any interference from her handler & is another elegant one with good front assembly, lovely head & expression, good topline, well carried tail, good markings. RCC;

2 Knight’s Talanors Tomorrows Dream, very nice indeed but not the shoulder placement of 1 which showed in her choppier movement. There is so much to like in her head, quarters, markings, colouring, coat & general fitness;

3 Smith’s Mansiya Midnight Graceful.

OB (2)

1 Morris’ Brookstream Flower Fairy at Calstoa, for me all that a Manchester bitch should be, beautiful head & ears, long crested neck flowing into well laid shoulders, enough forechest, good tuck-up & strong quarters, nicely in proportion, has the kindest expression, moved well, viewed all round without being strung up by her handler. She lost out on BOB to her son as she is not in such pristine condition as he is but won the CC with conviction;

2 Hemsell’s Tetani Princess of Darkness, 7 years, the tan is strong still which is not usual in a bitch, she is in hard muscular condition & a credit to her owners.
