MANCHESTER JUDGE MIDLAND COUNTIES 13

Manchester Terriers

My first CC appointment after years of putting my nose over them. I was thrilled with the quality entry. However I was surprised to see high tailsets & large ears. Movement on one exhibit also disturbed me but on the whole movement was good & especially so with my main winners & movement is much better now than it used to be.

All exhibits had super temperaments & all in excellent coat & condition.

PD, JD & PGD (0).

LD (3)

1 Saville’s Calastoa’s Man In The Mirror of Dobermatian, nice masculine head, neck & topline. Tail set on correctly. Moved well. Firm hocks, good colour, correct depth of brisket, well tucked up. Promising;

2 Buxton’s Millacome Made In Heaven, typy dog, super feet, moved OK, good colour;

3 Olbinson & Kelly’s Paucelin Andonni at Carapast.

OD (6,1a)

1 CC, BOB, shortlisted in a very strong group, Charlton’s Digelsa Diamond Geeza at Lizelms, masculine dog with a typical wedge shaped head, dark expressive eye, correct shaped ears, carried & placed well. Large perfect teeth, strong neck, slightly arched, correct shoulder placement, straight front, elbows well tucked in. Well balanced length to height, well sprung in ribs, correct angulation in hindquarters, firm in hocks, excellent feet, colour & coat well presented. Tail was held high which did distract the eye on the move but he moves true fore & aft. First class handling;

2 RCC, Knight’s Westbank Blue Diamond for Talanors, another typy dog, unlucky to meet 1. Keen & alert, good eye & ears, correct well placed shoulders & strong thighs, super condition, moved out well. Good feet, correct thumbprint;

3 Dunford, Akrigg & Walton’s Ch Quixol Alexander.

PB (4)

1 Walshaw’s Digelsa Diva Avec Janmark, notes read wow, I felt she would burst if I touched her. She stands so well for a youngster, excellent outline, pretty wedge shaped head, small dark eye, small v-shaped ears carried perfectly, strong jaw, clean in shoulder, no lumps or bumps from slight arched neck to tailset, correct clean & clear thumbprint. She moved round the ring with confidence, reach in front & drive from strong hindquarters, a true star in the making. Had to receive BP & RCC. Wish she was mine;

2 Saville’s Querceti Isadora for Dobermatian, anther lovely exhibit, elegant & sound, nice headed youngster, in fine coat, colour clear & condition. Clean shoulder & elbows well tucked in, super temperament;

3 Sharpe’s Rosettia Opal Legacy.

JB (2)

1 CC, Saxton & Dale’s Rattustrap Top Totty, CC, a first but not her last. Typical head shape, super expression, well placed ears, perfect bite, she is big enough but well balanced height to length. Excellent coat, condition & colour. Moved out well, front & well angulated hindquarters, tail set on & held on the move. Firm in topline, expert handling. Shall watch her with interest;

2 Sharpe’s Rosettia Ruby Reflection, wedge shaped head, correct scissor bite, nice small ears & compact in body but movement not positive. Good tail set on.

PGB (2)

1 Buxton’s Millacome Maid Of Magic, lovely outline, beautiful coat, colour & condition. Flat long skull, small dark eye, correct expression, clean shoulders, muscular hindquarters, good feet, moving well front & back;

2 Forshaw’s Calastoa’s Lucky Star, long feminine wedge shape to head, correct eye shape & colour, clean neck, short back, well sprung ribbing. Needs more attitude. Correct thumbmarks.

LB (3,1)

1 Smith’s Calastoa’s Lady Of Meltham at Simjest, big enough but pleasing feminine bitch. Lovely headpiece, perfect bite, correct eye shape & colour, well ribbed, held topline on the move, super angulation, well padded feet. Promising;

2 Greenslade’s Calastoa’s Material Girl, feminine, good outline, more bone for balance. Promising prospect. Loved her size & colour.

OB (2)

1 Knight’s Ch Talanors Taylor Made Treat, sound, balanced outline, excellent headpiece, correct eye shape & colour, shoulder could be cleaner. Coat colour excellent, well padded feet, well angulated in hindquarters, well handled. Loved her size;

2 Dunford & Akrigg’s Paucelin Armana by Quixol, another excellent wedge shaped head. Super ear placement, perfect bite. Not so firm in topline. Excellent condition.
