MANCHESTER LEEDS 14 Judge: Mr Paul Eardley BEST OF BREED : 4862 DUNFORD, Mrs C & AKRIGG Mrs C Ch Paucelin Armana By Quixol MANCHESTER JUDGE LEEDS 14 Manchester Terriers I enjoyed judging the Manchester Terriers & thank you for a very pleasing entry. This was my 2nd CC appointment & overall I felt that the quality of the breed was good. Temperaments are much improved & generally movement is too. There is still quite a variation in size & size did come into consideration in my placings as did tail carriage. It was an extremely hot day & some coped much better with the heat than others. Thank you to my two hard-working stewards who must have been sweltering by the end of the day. PD (3) 1 Freer & Priestman’s Felfree Top Oscar, this was a nice one to start the day off with. Not the biggest but a lovely type, presents a good outline, good tail set & carriage & moves very steadily. Nice headed boy. I liked him a lot & was pleased to make him BP; 2 Harrison’s Digelsa Declaration, excellent sort, really good breed type with a cracking head. Very good rear movement. Shows lots of promise. Unfortunately did not cope with the heat as well as the winner & this was really the deciding factor; 3 Harrison’s Magpiebank Ash. JD (4) 1 F Top Oscar; 2 D Declaration; 3 Brown’s Talanors Sweet Dreams. PGD (1) 1 Goodman’s Joemario Moonlit Shadow, stood alone but worthy of his place. 4 years & fully mature with a nice head with good proportions. Lovely temperament. Found the ground a touch hard going but was perfectly sound on examination. LD (3) 1 Ferguson’s Felfree Rocket, lovely youngster who was in good condition. Took my eye when he first entered the ring for his lovely breed type. Has a good outline & excels in profile movement where he really covers the ground. He is a touch bigger than I would like but put in a good performance, aided by excellent handling. He was a well deserved winner of the CC & I was pleased to hear that it was his 3rd. Congratulations; 2 Hemsell’s Tetani Wizard Of Dreams, better size than the winner & is a nice sort, typy & free moving on a loose lead; 3 Olbinson & Kelly’s Paucelin Andoni at Carapast. OD (5,1) 1 Knight’s Westbank Blue Diamond for Talanors, cracking boy who caught my eye on first examination. Great head & ears, lovely condition with good hard muscles, nice outline, good size & not a lot I would change really. I thought he was going to be my CC winner but unfortunately in the challenge the heat got to him & he lost some of his sparkle. RCC. He was unlucky as going straight back into the challenge after the class affected him. Should gain his title easily; 2 Charlton’s Ch Digelsa Diamond Geeza at Lizelms, close-up to first with a nice outline. Another in good hard condition & a good size. I just preferred the front movement of first; 3 Saville’s Calastoa’s Man In The Mirror of Dobermatian. VD (0). PB (3) 1 Wicker’s Mimbre Bombette, lovely sort in great bloom. Good mover, nice head, lovely years. Just hope she does not grow any more; 2 Peacham’s Felfree A Touch Of Glam, nice size & better tail carriage than winner. Good type but unfortunately was a touch overweight & this spoiled her outline; 3 Hemsell’s Tetani Lux Mundi. JB (4,2) This was an extremely nice class of youngsters & there really was very little separating them. 1 Smith’s Simjest Kiara’s Candy Girl, good size, lovely outline, moved well both ways, nice head. Very promising; 2 Dunford & Akrigg’s Quixol Soiree, equally promising & slightly better in rear than the winner. On the last go round I felt the winner had a slightly better outline & that was really the decider. PGB (2) 1 Saville’s Querceti Isadora for Dobermatian, this one was a bit hesitant to start with but on examination she was of good breed type with a nice outline & she was steady on the move. Good size; 2 Keates’ Rattustrap Roaring Meg, nice temperament, touch bigger than the winner & not quite as good on the move. Outline a touch more exaggerated. LB (6,1) 1 Walshaw’s Digelsa Diva avec Janmark, this young lady is shaping up well. Another in great condition & super hard muscletone which really showed in her movement. Great temperament & is a born showgirl. Tail a touch gay & could perhaps be a touch taller but should be a force to be reckoned with shortly; 2 Brander’s Nightstorms Miss Chevious at Menfreya, good outline & proportions, feminine. Was a touch sluggish today but who can blame her in that heat; 3 Forshaw’s Calastoa’s Lucky Star. OB (6,1) 1 Dunford & Akrigg’s Ch Paucelin Armana by Quixol, perfect breed type & excellent proportions to my way of thinking. Stands right at all times not requiring any assistance. On examination I loved her head & neck flowing into good shoulders with super outline & just enough angulation in the rear. It is easy to see why she has her title as her movement is effortless with perfect outline & lovely tail carriage. She ticked all the boxes for me today & I was delighted to award her the CC & BOB. I gave her a RCC when she was a youngster & I am delighted to see that she has fulfilled that early promise; 2 Saxton & Dale’s Rattustrap Top Totty, this one put up a good competition against the winner as she is a born showgirl. Defies you to overlook her. Another with great muscletone, expression was spot on & yet feminine at the same time. The deciding factor really was she is a touch heavier in shoulder & a touch proud of tail. However she is of clear champion grading & I was delighted to award her the RCC. Should gain her title; 3 Greenslade’s Calastoa’s Material Girl. VB (1) 1 Hemsell’s Tetani Princess Of Darkness, this one was really the star of the show as she was incredibly 12 years old. Lovely type, good size & still moves well. She joined her kennelmates for the breeders class & although they stood alone they made a great team moving in unison including the raw baby. PAUL EARDLEY |
