MANCHESTER JUDGE LKA 10

Manchester Terriers

A lovely entry both in numbers & in quality. I had some lovely dogs to assess & was delighted with my main winners in every way. It was a pleasure to judge this breed & I enjoyed it very much.

PD (5,1a)

1 Eva’s Sophyla Sam Brown, well constructed & typical in outline, pleasing head proportions, balanced length of neck, straight front with well angulated shoulder, elbows tucked in, correct in topline, good hind angulation giving balance all through, best mover in this class, promising pup. BP;

2 Saxton & Dale’s Rattustrap Black Sheep, good pup, similar to 1, slightly bigger all through but well proportioned generally, just lost out to 1 in hind action, but nevertheless a pleasing pup;

3 Olbinson’s Paucelin Andoni.

JD (2,1)

1 Marshall’s Janzins Man Of Mystery from Jepejo, alone, quite forward for his age, good head, balanced length of neck, shoulder & front quite good for angulation, correctly roached topline giving typical outline. Just lost out further on hind action when moving.

PGD (1)

1 Wood’s Westwytch Zodiac Zoom, alone, probably would have been more at ease with others present, rather nervous on the table, but better when on the floor in spite of the noisy venue, moving out OK in front but a little wide in the rear.

LD (5,1)

1 Dunford, Akrigg & Walton’s Quixol Alexander, very pleasing in head qualities, good ears & typical breed expression, balanced neck, good depth of chest, well made in body generally with correct topline & outline, moved well on good feet, looking every inch a male & taking the RCC in good company;

2 Jeynes’ Browdel Black Muskateer, close up in many ways with masculine head. Ears a touch erratic on the move but that could be the noise, but felt he just lacked a bit in strength in rearquarters;

3 Goodwin’s Digelsa Dionysis.

OD (4,1)

1 Brander’s Ch Churnet Concerto at Menfreya, two very pleasing dogs in my opinion headed this class, but just loved the stance & attitude of 1, all male with lovely head construction carried beautifully on strong balanced neck, typical in expression, correct general outline, well angulated to give effective movement, alert & attentive all through. CC;

2 Morris’ Ch Calastoa Amber Nectar, good masculine sort, not quite the expression of 1 but a pleasing dog. Typical in outline. Hindquarters lacking just a touch in muscle on the lower thigh, but liked him nevertheless, quality dog;

3 Fitch & Reeve’s Westwytch Calico Cadeau.

PB (4)

Two very pleasing puppy bitches here, both winning on general development & maturity.

1 Freer’s Mansiya Casting Circles with Felfree, lovely outline with balanced neck. Ears could have been a little more settled. Good body construction, well angulated shoulder, good front, balanced angulation in the rear, took the class on her overall movement;

2 O’Neill’s Ticknell Hidden Treasure at Megellan, very close up, so similar to 1, lovely outline but just lost out a touch on hind movement;

3 Hammett’s Digelsa Double Take for Bryedal.

JB (7)

1 Steel’s Brookstream Blue Lady, very appealing young bitch for type & size, well constructed in head, well made body of correct proportions, quite mature in every way for one so young, well angulated, certainly the best mover in this class which had some very nice bitches. In the challenge I found her qualities impossible to overlook, she completely filled my eye, elegant & feminine, showing all the time making the most of herself without fuss, she just had to take the CC & BOB;

2 T Hidden Treasure at M;

3 Buxton’s Talanors Magic Moment.

PGB (3,2)

1 T Hidden Treasure at M.

LB (4)

1 Dunford & Akrigg’s Quixol Pandora, very good typical bitch, pleasing head & expression, was definitely in contention for the RCC in the challenge, well marked with good body construction & proportions, correct topline & tailset, moving out quite well;

2 Palmer’s Egloshayle Black Rosewyn, close up in most aspects but just lost out in movement to 1;

3 Coleclough’s Quixol Desdemona at Coleburke.

OB (5,1)

1 Knight’s Talanors Tomorrows Dreams, outstanding bitch in this class for balance, construction & movement, lovely head & expression, good reach of neck into correct topline, very good angulation giving good movement. Thought at this stage she would be my CC winner, but her movement in the challenge did not do her justice unfortunately when compared to that of the Junior bitch. RCC;

2 De Lavis-Trafford’s Tyburn Lotis, smaller bitch, quite nicely made all through, well proportioned body. Hindquarters would be better for more angulation, but her movement scored highly enough for this placing;

3 Morris’ Ch Calastoa Ruby Tuesday.
