MANCHESTER LKA 09 Judge: Mr P Eva MANCHESTER JUDGE LKA 09 Manchester Terriers The ladies always put on a super annual celebration of the showing year & this year was no exception, the newer layout for terriers at last including Staffords. My entry could not include the two most likely dog winners, but fortunately we have another rising star. In bitches our own breeding of course were safe & warm at home. PD (1) 1 Morris’ Mansiya Word To The Wise, spanking new 8 months puppy who is no shrinking violet, bold, outgoing & in super nick, shoulders to die for, lovely head, flat & narrow, wedge shaped, 50/50 proportioned, lovely dark eye, long tapering neck, strong backend & good reach in front, but still a baby in movement. Will do even better given time. JD (4) 1 Creber & Beardow’s Talanors Hellova Treat for Sipowitz, good looking chap, fit, muscled, in proportion throughout, feet, topline, backend, tailset, bit short in brisket. Good drive from rear, well handled & in time will be an even bigger winner, one I’ve admired & was not disappointed; 2 Forshaw’s Janzins Rock Star, another who I’ve been looking at for some time, sound, great topline, elegant, good wedge shaped head, tailset just right, this will succeed in the senior classes in time, nice one; 3 Bodsworth’s Brockenella’s Bleddyn. PGD (5,4a) 1 Brocklebank & Harrison’s Corduroys Icon at Bellbrock, in super condition, as befits the experienced owners, lovely chiselled head, ears, eyes, fit, feet, good topline & markings, moved OK. Just a bit short in brisket; 2 Mercer’s Faolan Sirius, very good head, ears etc, eye colour, nicely formed body, OK shoulders & backend, but would pace. We both tried, but failed to crack it, more practice & you have a very nice dog; 3 Dale’s Megellan Rumble at Rattustrap. LD (3) 1 Holme’s Eglsoshayle Black Carlyn, very nice, good size, feet tight, well covered, coat in super nick, charming temperament, coat gleaming top & backline, his handler straight from her great success in the jun handling, which she won against very talented opposition; 2 Jeyne’s Browdel Black Muskateer, lighter build than 1, without the topline & movement of 1. Good neckline & shoulders, head well on, super condition; 3 Wallace’s Amyandas Anchor Man. OD(2) 1 Morris’ Ch Calastoa Amber Nectar, 100 per cent all male, liked him as a puppy where in flood conditions he won the RCC to his father’s CC. Has matured in all areas, body, head & in fit clean condition. A pity more of our big winners are not more like him, but only chop around the ring. Moved with drive. CC & BOB; 2 Pyne’s Newtonian Black Rod, a long time favourite of mine, although I have never judged him before. A bit lighter built than the 1 but everything works & fits from nose to tail. In clean, fit condition & well handled. RCC. PB (3) 1 Leigh’s Mansiya Cosmopolitan, really welcome addition to the breed with American bloodlines that will be a shot in the breeding arm to the UK scene. Lovely outline, everything in balance & in place, the word balanced was created for this lovely girl, moved OK. Put in a super performance for BP against litter brother; 2 Coleclough’s Quixol Desdemona at Coleburke, very promising addition to the breed with interesting breedlines, among my notes is very promising bitch, who could mature into a very nice bitch, with the experienced owner at the helm; 3 McIntyre’s Stratosphere Viva Las Vegas. JB (5,3) 1 Knight’s Talanors Special Treat, just to size, tidy feet with some neck & head, well set on good shoulders, topline & backend. Bit short in brisket, tail well set; 2 Wallace’s Manchenoir Sun Moon And Stars, more like my sort of Manchester T bitch, enough of her, well built, fit, shoulders, the lot. What a pity she hasn’t quite got this moving business under control; 3 Ralph & Garrett’s Lacinka Liquid Silk. PGB (2,1) 1 Palmer’s Egloshayle Black Rosewyn, alone but is a winning formula, lovely coat, colour, condition, well handled, moved well, good topline, front, set of neck & head, some chest, well laid shoulder, moved OK. LB (2) 1 McIntyre’s Calot Ozara, this is a very nice bitch, fit enough to compete at any level, muscled, topline, backend, looked great when posed & moved well; 2 Brocklebank & Harrison’s Bellbrock Doris Day, in first class nick, great head, neck & front. Just too short behind, this spoilt rear movement. OB (5) 1 Morris’ Calasota Ruby Tuesday, as always the open class was the most competitive & this was an exceptional girly outing. In winning this class Ruby, who I have never judged before, was pushed hard, she has an air of class, balanced, height to length, great set of head, in top condition, shoulders, so important & lacking in some of our big breed winners, a backend to envy, head details correct. CC; 2 Stubbington’s Calot Haja, lovely front with lay of shoulders, top & backline great, strong coat, good wedge head with eye & earset right, moved well in profile & towards, as always from Calot, my kind of bitch. In strong contention for the top spot, but had to give way to Ruby & so a deserved RCC. |
