MANCHESTER DRIFFIELD 12 Judge: Mrs Janet Forshaw BEST OF BREED : 4349 SMITH Dr S T & Mr J E Calastoa's Lady Of Meltham At Simjest MANCHESTER JUDGE DRIFFIELD 12 Manchester Terriers As a replacement judge I thank the exhibitors for their entry & hope Barbara Simpson is feeling better soon. Now to the downside: movement was a disappointment. The grass was a little long due to a spate of bad weather; this may have not helped but breeders really need to look at movement. On the plus side, mouths were good & temperaments excellent. PD 1 Hituri & Virta’s Rattustrap England’s Own, nice shapely puppy with good bone, but doesn’t need to grow anymore. Nice head with dark eye, nicely held ears, topline good but has tendency to carry his tail a little high, hopefully will settle as he matures. Needs to drop a little in chest & handler must not stand him too narrow in front. Angulation is OK but would like a little more width to thigh. Feet good & he is well marked, looks good going round with nice side gait, rear movement good going away but a little untidy in front, hope he tightens as he matures. Excellent temperament, I’m sure he will have bright future. BP. JD 1 Saville’s Calastoa’s Man In The Mirror, spot on for size & bone, nicely balanced with excellent head & extremely dark wicked eye, nice high set ears used well, shapely body with nice neck & shoulders leading into good topline. Front angulation good but would like a little more turn of stifle to rear. Movement good when he put his mind to it, should make up. YD 1 Charlton’s Digelsa Diamond Geeza at Lizelms, 19 month old who I have judged as a puppy & has matured well, looks good stood & on the move, good head & eye, well set ears, lean neck leading into well placed shoulders, topline & croup good, chest deep with well set on legs. Would like to see more definition to thumb prints. Rear angulation OK, moves well coming but would like to see more drive from the rear. Another who should make up. RBD. OD 1 Norris’ Ch Brookstream Louis De Blue, nice male of good type which I would expect from this kennel, shapely body, excellent head & dark eye, nicely marked deep chest & good topline & croup, tailset OK, nicely angulated front & rear but would like a little more width to front. Movement OK. BD. GCD 1 Stedman’s Mansiya Dare To Be Different, another I have judged before who has a nice head eye & ears when used, angulation good with nice front deep chest, lean neck & good topline & tail carriage, one of the few to carry his tail correctly. Would like to see more drive from the rear & more animation. PB (0). JB 1 Norris’ Calastoa’s Who’s That Girl at Brookstream, pretty feminine & curvy girl, excellent head & extremely dark eye & nice eye shape, correct size & well balanced, nice bone & well marked, front & rear angulation good, chest deep, lean neck leading into good topline, nice straight legs & good feet, movement good but have seen her show better, temperament excellent, another with a bright future. YB 1 C Who’s That Girl at B. LB 1 Smith’s Calastoa’s Lady Of Meltham at Simjest, one I have admired from outside the ring & didn’t disappoint, top size but of nice type, excellent head & dark eye with good shape & melting expression, nice high set ear carriage, lean neck, curvaceous body with good topline & tailset, deep body & lovely forechest, looks good from all angles, carried tail well on the move, a lot to like & didn’t disappoint. BOB. OB 1 Oxley’s Ch Digelsa De Ja Vu, another I have watched from ringside who has a good head & ear carriage, dark eye, nice bone. Thumb prints could have more definition to them. Legs well set on & angulation good. Touch long & not as curvy & deep as limit winner, would like to see a little more shape to body but as she is still a young girl, still has time to mature.
