MANCHESTER CRUFTS 16 Judge(s): MRS Z THORN-ANDREWS MANCHESTER JUDGE CRUFTS 16 Manchester Terriers VD (2) 1 Fitch & Reeve’s Westwytch Calico Cadeau, good size & wonderful teeth for a 12 year old. Pleasing head, well filled in under the eye, ears could be set higher. Excellent body & cut up. Sound behind. A lovely boy; 2 Goodwin’s Ch Digelsa Dionysis, bigger all through. Also super head, ears set too low though. Pins in coming towards. Lovely powerful quarters. Good coat & body condition. PD (4) 1 Coutt’s Rattustrap Boris Citrov, liked his head, ears need to settle, OK in front. Fair tan & markings. Had the best topline of the class. Moved reasonably; 2 Charlton’s Digelsa Done N Dusted at Lizelms, a little long & very dark tan. Muscular behind for age & he has good quarters, poor ears spoil a nice head; 3 Church’s Rattustrap Charlie Brown, very square over topline & croup. Again has flying ears set too low. OK in front. Nicely sweeping underline. Good feet. JD (4) 1 Walshaw’s Talanors Diamonds N’Dreams avec Janmark, bald ears but they are set & carried correctly. Good front & forechest. Sound legs & tidy feet. Correct topline & rise over loin. Excellent & powerful quarters. Tail carried too high & he can lift his front legs too high moving but his type & quality are there for all to see; 2 Wildgust’s The Black Pirateer, short coupled, also quite neat & precise in front. Ears could be carried better. He is inclined to pace moving; 3 Sharples’ Talanors Taylored Diamond, rather too long in back & flat in topline, lengthy skull. Well placed dark eyes, fair front. Reasonable mover & can improve here. PGD (5) 1 Hebb’s Paucelin Falster, moves far too wide in rear but he was still by far the closest to the Standard in this class. Good head, neat ears. OK in front. Good coat. Needs better feet. Lovely body shape; 2 O’Boyle’s Parcelin Furet at Ruffagga, he would persist in pacing. Ears hang to the side of the head, short coupled, deep fairly narrow chest. Poor mover; 3 Stafford’s Westwytch Bolt For Gold, a better mover, but not so well made, short neck, very tucked under & on the big side, shows well. Lovely rich tan. LD (7) 1 RCC, Bergstrom’s I Am Ike van de Posthoornwieke, smart, typy & a precise mover. Very elegant & shapely. Good size, well handled. Stands on good legs & feet. Immaculate coat & muscular condition; 2 Doveri’s Lantaka Vigor, not quite as strong in foreface as winner, but he too was good for size, depth of chest, correct underline & he moves out with some style. Very close to above; 3 Willis’ Talanors Super Treat, ears could be carried better & his rear is a little weak in the hocks. I liked his size & body shape a lot. OD (11) 1 CC & BOB, Carter & Harrison’s Ch Digelsa Declaration, two beauties! Both lovely size & such cracking outlines. This one can go over the top as he is gassy but I don’t mind that! Beautiful head, correct wedge shape, neat ears, sound mover, lean & muscular throughout; 2 Knight’s Ch Westbank Blue Diamond for Talanors, just a little slacker in loin but he was a little steadier moving. Good legs & tidy feet. Rich tan well marked. Lovely sound boy in all directions moving; 3 L Vigor. GCD (3) 1 Broadhurst’s Churnet Chorus, three nice boys all showing well. Winner had his tail up very high but he is curvy, deep in chest packed with muscle in rear & showing well; 2 Olbinson & Kelly’s Paucelin Andoni at Carapast, nice size, good tan on legs & pencilling. Just a bit flat at withers & over croup. Moved OK & has correct rear angulation; 3 Stedman & Leigh’s Mansiya If You Dare, ears vey wayward which spoil his head & expression, also a nice size, well handled & OK on the move. VB (0). PB (5) 1 BP, Oxley’s Digelsa D’Amour, promising but not ready yet. A trifle long cast & turns one foot out in front. Beautiful head & earset. Elegant neck & good rear for age, pretty good mover; 2 Moore’s Rattustrap War Dance to Zalman, very fit for a pup. Not quite the length of neck or lay of shoulder of above, I admired her topline & quarters & hope she continues on to improve; 3 Noden’s Joe Mario Awesome Annie, a tubby girl who was enjoying herself! Good size, sound legs & tight feet, ears a bit wayward as yet. JB (6) 1 Barlow’s Nightfury Bold Venture, neat & well put together. Liked her head, nicely filled in under eye. Good neck, OK in front. Deep enough for age & moved out with some panache; 2 Heller’s Limoncello Cecilia Beaux, ears not so well set & neck joins back too abruptly. Ribbing carried well back, good over croup, correct short tail; 3 Sharpe’s Rosettia High Hopes, ears not well carried & neck too short. She did move OK & has a lovely sweeping underline, good rich tan, neat fit. PGB (5) 1 Noden’s Joe Mario Ice Ice Baby, carried her tail beautifully at all times even though her whole body was wagging. Good overall proportions & a very precise mover. A touch overweight or most likely not quite in full muscular condition as yet. Very promising; 2 Young’s Mimbre Monsoon, rather tucked under at the rear & needed to relax at the backend. It was very noisy in the hall. Lovely head but neck a touch short, good colour & coat; 3 Jones’ Barleydust Fayre Day, not quite the head of above. Very well muscled & lovely topline, needs practice to move in a straight line. LB (5) 1 RCC, Cawley’s Marlablue In A Twirl, lovely size & proportions of height to length. Needs more forechest & a better length of upper arm but she moved true, keeps a perfect topline & has plenty of muscletone; 2 Shire’s Egloshayle Tegan, ears rather to the size of the backskull instead of pointing to the eyes. Deep enough, OK in quarters. Firm hocks. Nice girl; 3 Forshaw’s Calastoa’s Lucky Star, I thought she could do with more bone, very pleasing head, ears could sit better. Good topline & underline, excellent quizzical expression. OB (10) 1 CC, Saxton, Dale & Emrick’s Ch Rattustrap Imperial Red, close between 1 & 2, thought the movement by 1 was just a wee bit more typical. Winner elegant, lovely arch to her neck, deep but fairly narrow chest, good coat & colour. True mover in all directions; 2 Smith’s Ch Simjest Kiara’s Candy Girl, not disgraced. Very elegant & sound, she has a great stride in profile & looks able to work, ideal size & overall another super bitch; 3 Barkowsky’s Black Bandits Rylee, better coat & colour than 2 but rather weak in quarters & feet could be better. Liked her head & strength of bone for a bitch. Tail carried rather too high. GCB (3) 1 Thurlow’s Erkenwyne Lady Guinevere, up from open & looking good here. She is better on the floor than the table for some reason. Standing & moving very well here; 2 William’s Rollsbrook Summer’s Titania, naughty girl who insisted on pacing in the previous class. Looks like a habit & handler, I’m sure, can improve things; 3 Keates’ Rattustrap Roaring Meg at Haamblet, bigger girl, moving a bit more tucked under than I would like. Gleaming coat & good muscletone. Neck could be longer. ZENA THORN-ANDREWS
