MANCHESTER JUDGE CRUFTS 13

Manchester Terriers

Thank you to all exhibitors. I had a super quality entry & had to make some very difficult decisions in certain classes which could have turned out differently on another day. Some of the dogs were showing signs of fatigue towards the end which wasn’t surprising due to the late running of the previous breed in our ring.

VD (5)

1 Broxup’s Ch Digelsa Dig Deep at Brockenella, I liked this dog as a youngster & he’s still looking good for 8 years. Nicely shaped with a good strong head, lovely eye & well carried ears. Nicely marked with good topline, tuck-up & tailset. Moved & handled well;

2 Hebb’s Ch Sophyla Sterling Silver from Bellbrock, nearly 10 this dog was nicely bodied with a good deep chest & tuck-up. Good head & ears with nice topline & tailset. Handled well but didn’t have drive of 1;

3 Jeynes’ Browdel Black Muskateer, at 8 years still nicely marked with a good head & ear carriage. Topline OK & nice tailset. Good angulation.

PD (3)

1 RCC & BP, Buxton’s Millacome Made In Heaven, striking well bodied 12 months youngster. Good wedge shaped head with nice eye & ear carriage. Lovely outline with good turn of stifle. Rich dark tan with well defined markings. Handled well & moved with plenty of drive. I’m sure it will not be long before he starts to get the big card;

2 Pyne’s Brockenella’s Chancer at Budley, another 12 month old, nicely bodied youngster, not quite as strong as 1 but plenty of potential. Nice head & ears, good reach of neck. Nicely marked with a nice deep tan. Good topline & tailset, well angulated. Moved & handled well;

3 Croft-Elliott & Barker’s Poricias Garcoyle for Argoel, nicely built but at 13 months not as well developed as first two, time will change this I’m sure. Good head with nice ear carriage, nice topline. Moved & handled well.

JD (2)

1 Hituri & Virta’s Rattustrap Englands Own, nice sized well bodied dog with good outline. Good markings with a nice dark tan. Good wedge shaped head, nice almond eye & ears carried correctly. Moved well. A dog I admire but here he didn’t shine when in the line up for the challenge;

2 Knight’s Westbank Blue Diamond for Talanors, nice outline with a good wedge shaped head & nicely carried ears. Good topline, tailset & well angulated. Nice dark tan, well marked, thumbprints need to clear. Moved & handled well.

PGD (6)

1 Saville’s Calastoa’s Man In The Mirror, up to size & well built with a good outline. Good head with well carried ears. Nice tan, well marked with good thumbprints. Well laid back shoulder & good angulation, moved & handled well;

2 Doherty’s Hagrid Tobias Longbottom, nice size, well marked with a good topline & tailset. Well set ears on a nice head. Good depth of chest. Handled well but not quite as strong on the move as 1;

3 Roberts, Rosser & Clifton’s Gloryline Charles Brandon, nice head with well carried ears. Good markings & nice thumbprints. Good angulation with nice outline. Handled well.

LD (7)

1 Charlton’s Digelsa Diamond Geeza at Lizelms, nicely made dog in hard condition. Good strong head with dark eye & well set ears. Good topline & tailset, deep chest & good tuck-up. Nice turn of stifle giving him plenty of drive on the move. A lot to like about this one;

2 Cawley’s Victor James Montague, nice size with a good head & well carried ears. Good deep chest with nice tuck-up. Good topline & tailset, nice angulation. Moved well but not the drive of 1;

3 Olbinson & Kelly’s Paucelin Andoni at Carapast, nicely outlined dog with a good head & ears. Good tan with nice markings. Would prefer a little more angulation but did enough to merit his place.

OD (15)

1 CC & BOB, Morris’ Ch Calastoa Amber Nectar, lovely well built dog who never disappoints. Good strong head with nice eye & good ears. Good topline & tailset, nice deep chest with good tuck-up. Nice tan with good markings. Good angulation giving him lots of drive on the move. I was honoured to award him BOB;

2 Norris’ Brookstream Louis De Blue, another well built dog with a good head, nice dark eye & well set ears. Good topline & tailset with a nice turn of stifle. Handled & moved well but didn’t have quite the drive as 1;

3 Clifton’s Gloryline Henry The Seventh, nicely built dog with good head & ears. Deep chested with good tuck-up. Nicely marked with good thumbprints. Moved & handled well.

GCD (4)

1 Stedman’s Mansiya Dare To Be Different, nicely presented, good sized dog. Good head with nice eye & well carried ears. Nice outline with good tuck-up. Good tailset, well angulated with plenty of drive on the move;

2 Hemsell’s Tetani Wizard Of Dreams, well made good sized dog, nicely shaped eye, good topline & tailset. Not quite the angulation as 1 so didn’t have the same drive. Handled well;

3 St Clair & Bell’s Mimbre First Mate, nice head with good dark almond eye. Nice tan with good thumbprints. Topline slightly level but a good tailset.

VB (7)

1 Hemsell’s Tetani Princess Of Darkness, nice size with feminine head & neat ears. Good topline & tailset, nice angulation giving good movement. Looking good for her 10½ years & I suspect she will be winning many more veteran classes in the future;

2 Beardow’s Amyandas Knight Fever, nearly 8 years, nice size with good outline & well carried ears. Nice topline with well set tail. Good angulation & moved well;

3 De-Lavis Trafford’s Ch Tyburn Faedra, nice head with good ear carriage. Deep chest with nice tuckup. Starting to show her age but can still move well for an 11½ year old!

PB (5)

1 Buxton’s Millacome Maid Of Magic, 12 months, lovely feminine bitch with nice outline, good tuck-up & nicely set tail. Good head with a nice eye & well carried ears. Nice angulation, moved with good drive. Totally different type than my BP so surprised to learn they are litter mates;

2 Keates’ Rattustrap Roaring Meg, at just 9 months a pretty little bitch with nice shaped head & good ears. Nice dark tan with good thumbprints but need to clear a bit more. Good topline & tailset. Still a baby but moved well;

3 Welburn’s Tudorbrook New Arrival, another pretty 11 months bitch with good head & ears. Nice tan with good markings. Good outline, nice tail carriage. Well angulated, moved & handled well.

JB (2)

1 Doherty’s Malskred Khaleesi, nice sized with a good topline & tailset. Feminine head with nice eye & ears. Good markings, well angulated, moved well with drive;

2 Knight’s Talanors Special Made Treat, nicely proportioned youngster with a good wedge head, nice eye & well carried ears. Nice tan with good markings. Didn’t do herself justice on the move but plenty of potential.

PGB (11)

1 Greenslade’s Calastoa’s Material Girl, another nice bitch from this kennel. Good sized nicely outlined bitch with good head & nice ears. Lovely tan with nice markings. Good front, nice angulation, handled & moved well;

2 Brander’s Nightstorms Miss Chevious at Menfreya, nice size & shape. Good head with well set ears. Nice tan with good markings. Well set tail, good angulation. Moved well but didn’t have sparkle of 1;

3 Forshaw’s Calastoa’s Lucky Star, litter sister to 1. Nice head & ears. Nice outline. Good markings with nice tan. Well angulated but lacked on movement over the others. Would not be surprised if these first three are in contention throughout their showing careers.

LB (7)

1 Norris’ Calastoa’s Who’s That Girl at Brookstream, nice feminine bitch with a good shaped head, nice dark eye & neat well carried ears. Good tan with nice markings. Nice topline with good tailset. Well angulated giving good strong movement;

3 Leigh’s Calastoa’s English Rose to Mansiya, nice size with a good head & well carried ears. Good topline & tailset. Well angulated & moved with drive. It was a pity she was carrying a little too much weight.

OB (11)

1 CC, Oxley’s Ch Digelsa De Ja Vu, good size with a nice feminine head, nice almond eye & neatly carried ears. Well marked with a nice tan & well defined thumbprints. Nice outline with a good tailset. Good turn of stifle giving plenty of drive on the move. Handled well & in tip top condition. Worthy winner;

2 RCC, Knight’s Talanors Taylor Made Treat, lovely feminine head with good dark almond eye & well carried ears. Good topline & tailset. Nice turn of stifle. Handled & moved well but lacking the drive of 1;

3 Morris’ Ch Calastoa Ruby Tuesday, quality bitch I have awarded a CC in the past & one I admire. Good head & ears. Well marked with a lovely topline & tailset but disappointed on the move. I know this bitch is worthy of a better placing but not today.

GCB (5)

1 C Material Girl;

2 Hemsell’s Tetani Spirit Of The Wind, correct size which is typical of this kennel. Nice topline & tailset. Nice ears & eye, giving good expression. Didn’t have the drive of 1;

3 Jones’ Wystry Philotes at Barleydust, good overall picture when stood in line-up. Well marked, good angulation but topline erratic on the move which unfortunately doesn’t do her justice.
