MANCHESTER CRUFTS 2010 Manchester Terrier Judge(s): MISS S R OXLEY MANCHESTER JUDGE CRUFTS 10 I would just like to thank everyone for the super entry which I had. I thoroughly enjoyed my day & had lots of lovely dogs to get my hands on, temperaments were excellent throughout. Movement overall was not up to the standard I would expect to see at Crufts. Breeders need to be careful that over size doesn’t get out of hand as some were tipping the scales of acceptability which would make it difficult for them to do the job they are bred for. VD (1) 1 Reeve’s Mimbre With Marauder with Harkeats, very happy dog with impeccable temperament enjoying his day out in the spotlight. full of life & lots of energy throughout, good head & expression, well constructed body with nice deep chest, very good for size, moved well with good drive. I gave him the CC at Leeds in 2003. PD (3) 1 Morris’s Mansiya Word To The Wise, very nice young dog, good strong head & expression with excellent ear carriage, strong markings with a nice rich tan, good outline with strong muscles, moved well for a puppy & shows lots of promise; 2 Dunford & Akrigg’s Quixol Alexander, fantastic head & ear carriage, with dark sparkling eyes, slightly loose on the front when moving but I’m sure this will come with maturity. Pleasing neck, shoulders & topline; 3 Brown & Arundel’s Browdel Potters Pickles, another lovely young dog in this trio, good head beautiful dark almond & sparking eyes, could have used his ears a bit more, but only a puppy. Nice bodyline. Paced when moved which cost him a higher placing. JD (3) 1 Beardow’s Talanors Hellova Treat for Sipowitz, very nice dog built to the Standard & in tip-top condition, strong head of good shape with complementing ear carriage, nice shoulders & topline, deep chest, well sprung ribs, good strong muscles throughout, nice arch over loin & pleasing tuck-up. Moved well & pushed the CC winner hard. RCC; 2 Bodsworth’s Brockenella’s Bleddyn, fits the Standard very well for size, well balanced outline in good proportion, good head with nicely shaped almond eyes, good markings, correct slight rise over loin. Could benefit from tightening up a little in movement, was unfortunate to meet 1 in such good form; 3 Nijhuis-De Haan & Bergstrm’s Kane PGD (8,3a) 1 Doherty’s Hagrid Tobias Longbottom, lovely dog who caught my eye, he is well balanced, good head, flat skull with sparkling eyes, Would have preferred to have seen slightly smaller ears. Lovely deep chest, nice topline, well sprung ribs good rise over loin & well angulated at rear, moved well with good drive; 2 Wood’s Westwytch Zodiac Zoom, good strong head with dark eyes, deep chest, good neck & very nice topline, in super shape & full of muscle, well angulated. Moving slightly wide let him down; 3 Mercer’s Faolan Sirius, nice dog with good ear carriage giving a lovely expression, good outline with a complementing depth of chest would benefit from a bit more tuck-up. LD (4) 1 Jeynes’ Browdel Black Muskateer, very lovely dog to go over, he fits the Standard well in all departments, is right on top for size but did not distract my thoughts, great head, fabulous ear carriage, nice long neck, good strong markings & a nice dark rich tan, & moved very well with great drive; 2 Brander’s Churnet Concerto at Menfreya, another big one, good strong head dark almond sparkling eyes, ears carried well, clear markings, well angulated, good topline, slight rise over loin, fabulous tail carriage, moved well; 3 Holmes’ Egloshayle Black Carlyn, drop him down two sizes & he could challenge the very best. Quite a big all round dog, but saying that he is in fantastic proportion, lovely head with quite small ears. Would have preferred to have seen slightly more almond shaped eyes, nice bodyline with good muscles at rear, moved & handled well. OD (8) 1 Morris’ Ch Calastoa Amber Nectar, I first judged this dog as a puppy & has fulfilled my expectations, he has matured into a beautiful dog having a super head, good ear carriage, an eyecatching outline, good depth of chest, correct rise over loin, good rear angulation, superb markings, & moved very well with great drive. CC; 2 Pyne’s Newtonian Black Rod, nice dog to judge, better for size than 1, beautiful head & ear carriage having a very strong rich tan, clear markings, up on his toes & showing well, nice front which he just lost a little in his enthusiasm. Good topline. Would have preferred to have seen a slightly longer neck but was well angulated at rear & moved with good drive; 3 Fitch & Reeve’s Westwytch Calico Cadeau, this dog came very close to 2 & had to split hairs. Spot on for size, well balanced, has the most lovely head & perfect eye, strong neck, good depth of chest, well angulated, superb topline, moved well. GCD 1 Bodsworth’s B Bleddyn; 2 B Black Muskateer; 3 Hebb’s Ch Sophyla Sterling Silver From Bellbrock, very joyful dog, good markings, nice head. Ears could be a little higher set. Was moving a touch wide on front. Great outline well angulated at rear. VB (2) 1 de Lavis-Trafford’s Ch Tyburn Faedra, very well seasoned lady, good for size, lovely head & great ear carriage, markings still present, body in great condition moved well with lots of drive; 2 Hemsell’s Tetani Princess Of Darkness, showing like she owned the ring, lovely head & dark sparkling eyes, good length of neck slightly arched at the crest, a good outline & tuck-up, moved well. PB (4,2) 1 Coleclough’s Quixol Desdemona at Coleburke, absolutely beautiful puppy bitch that caught my eye as soon as she entered the ring, appealed for size & type, lovely shaped head, good length of neck, body & topline well proportioned, she has a good rich tan & complementary markings, moved well & strongly believe this puppy could have great potential & one to watch. BP; 2 Leigh’s Mansiya Cosmopolitan, lovely puppy, nice head along with great ears & nice outline, well angulated at rear. Let herself down on the move, but is only a puppy & could tighten up as she matures. JB (5) 1 Bynam’s Lacinka Liquid Gold at Ceebee, in very good condition, on the limit for size. Good dark rich tan, a very good head with dark sparkling eyes, nice & compact body outline & good angulations at rear, moved very well & has something special about her, she was pushing hard for the RCC; 2 Knight’s Talanors Special Treat, lovely head with good ears, strong body, quite well made in shoulder & quarters, with good tuck-up & arch over loin, had great drive when moved; 3 Wallace’s Manchenoir Sunmoonstars, good strong front with pleasing head & ear carriage. Would have preferred a more almond shaped eye. Good outline, well tucked up & moved well. PGB (7,2) 1 Bynam’s Lacinka Liquid Gold at Ceebee; 2 Reeve & Hockley’s Harkeats Her Highness, beautiful bitch with a pleasing head & ear carriage, nice deep chest, good body outline with good tuck-up & rear angulations which complemented her movement; 3 Wicker’s Mimbre Solitaire, very elegant lady, lovely head & fabulous ear carriage, good reach of neck, nice shape & all in proportion. LB (11) 1 McIntyre’s Calot Ozara, lovely bitch, nothing flashy or over the top, but fitting the Standard very well, has a straight front, long tapering neck which gave her body outline a superb shape, well defined markings, moved well with good drive & rhythm; 2 Hemsell’s Tetani Spirit Vision, well balanced bitch putting in a super performance & looked to be enjoying her day, pleasing head, superb markings, correct crest on neck into a good topline. movement was good, would have showed herself off a bit more by going a touch quicker; 3 O’Neil’s Megellan Thunder Bird, very sound bitch good for fitting the Standard, fabulous ear carriage which complemented her head, strong deep chest, nice overall bodyline, moved with good drive. OB (8) 1 Morris’s Ch Calastoa Ruby Tuesday, very beautiful bitch in all ways, fantastic head with dark sparkling almond shaped eyes, ears tight & right up on top, long tapering neck onto good shoulders, straight front & nice depth of chest, & complementing tuck-up, she has a nice rich tan with excellent thumb spots, up. Moved very well. I was pleased to award her a well deserved CC & BOB; 2 Knight’s Talanors Tomorrows Dreams, another beautiful bitch who came very close to 1, good markings, nice head & ear carriage, good topline well angulated at rear, movement was pleasing too. RCC; 3 Sartori’s Ch Imagine, compact & good for size, nice shaped head along with excellent ear carriage, good depth of chest, nice rise over loin, well angulated at rear, had lots of drive when moved. GCB 1 T Spirit Vision; 2 Hemsell’s Tetani Spirit Of The Wind, lovely shaped head along with dark sparkling eyes, ear carriage & front pleasing, nice topline. Movement could have been slightly better. |
