MANCHESTER JUDGE CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 17

Thank you to all exhibitors for your good entry, which I much enjoyed perhaps especially when hearing that our BOB, having just won his 2nd CC, then went on to win the Group. I gather he is only the third Manchester to win this prestigious award. A thrill indeed! This was only counteracted by the shock of some of the entry, although good in other ways, being so very big. Not only were they up to size but some inches OVER-size and, thus sadly, untypical of this wonderful and very unique breed.

VD (1)

1: Olbinson & Kelly's Paucelin Andoni at Carapast. Well shaped head with a bright intelligent expression in his dark eyes. Good layback of shoulder and bend of stifle, in hard muscular condition and mature coat of good texture, on the tall side. A happy energetic showman, obviously enjoying every moment to the point of throwing up his front feet with enthusiasm at times.

JD (1)

1: Andrew's Magpiebank Tern for Texanger, in splendid coat and condition, dark eyes and bright alert expression. A good mover in profile, being particularly strong behind, can still firm a touch in front. Just a little overproud of his tail at times.

PGD (1)

1: Gray & Travis' Brockenella Hector Von Clanmarhsal. A sizeable chap with lovely head, eye and expression. He has a very determined look about him with well set and carried tail, in excellent coat. Very accurate mover.

LD (3)

1: Charlton's Digelsa Done N' Dusted at Lizelms, So very handsome, compactly balanced and chock full of quality and type, handled by his clever breeder, Mick Oxley. Well conformed all through with all the parts fitting neatly and firmly into the whole with good reach of neck. Beautiful head and eye with an expression that made me smile. Lovely for size, alert at all times, in superb coat and hard condition. Such a happy showman with his well set and carried tail constantly awag. Quite outstanding. CC which, I understand, to be his second, BOB then thrilled to hear he went G1 under Les Aspin.

2 Church's Rattustrap Charlie Brown. Another sizeable chap, slightly smaller in eye than the winner. Well made all through with good tailset and carriage. He moved very well with good reach in profile.

3 Willis' Talanors Super Treat.

OD (5,2)

1: Murphy Aust Ch Dixiedaly Doc Holliday (IKC) So good for size and type, make and shape with good layback of shoulder and turn of stifle, he scored on his tail carriage here. Well shaped head, just not as dark in eye as the final winner. An eager, happy showman who moved extremely well, going with a spring in his stride. RCC

2: Carter Ch Digelsa Declaration. A truly beautiful masculine fellow with wonderful head and keen alert expression in his dark eyes. So typey and well made all through with good depth of chest, in the best of coat and condition. Maddeningly he appeared to have found something far more interesting outside the ring and insisted on flying his non-stop wagging tail during every step he took when moving. It is said that every dog has his day and, sadly, this was not his. Nonetheless a glorious dog. Gather that the BOB & G1 winner is from a repeat mating and so very similar.

3: Harrison Ch Magpiebank Ash

GCD (1)

1 P. Andoni at C Obviously a multi-talented character, proved by a splendid display of begging to order in this class!

PB (6)

1: Knight's Talanors Typically Special. Well named, just six months and already such a mature typey balanced showgirl with beautiful head, eye and expression, so very well made with good layback of shoulder, reach of neck, turn of stifle and depth of chest with excellent tailset and carriage. Super sound and positive on the move. A gorgeous baby who shares her sire, Ch Westbank Blue Diamond for T, with both CC winners. Most exciting. BP

2: Cawley's Marlablue Queen Bee. Another just six months old and a little charmer. Lovely head, eye and expression with small neat ears, so good for make, shape and type with excellent topline, already in good coat and size for her age. She, too, moved extremely well. Most exciting.

3 Olbinson & Kelly's Rattustrap Citra at Carapast

JB (3,1)

1 Saville's Simjest Back To Black by Dobermatian. Strongly built with well shaped head and keen alert expression. She scored on layback of shoulder and small neat ears. Good topline, tailset and carriage. She went well. BJ

2nd: Harrison's Magpiebank Teal. Taller with good depth of chest, in lovely glossy coat. Slightly fuller in eye than the winner, very good mover.

PGB (2,1)

1st: Knight's Talanors Diamond Treat. Sizeable with well shaped head and dark expressive eye. Would insist on pacing to begin with but, when she finally decided to concentrate on the job in hand, went well.

LB (4,1)

1 Walker's Talanors Treat Me Good at Sizlin, So lovely and constantly alert, well shaped head with neat ears and a bright intelligent expression in her dark sparkling eyes. So good for size, type, make and shape with excellent topline, scoring here on her layback of shoulder and turn of stifle. She moved extremely well, seeming to actively enjoy jumping on the drain covers under the carpet! CC which, I gather to be her 2nd such award. She surely deserves her title.

2: Heller's Limoncello Cecilia Beau. Typey and good for size, in excellent coat and condition, she moved extremely well.

3 Boot's Ttombowor Princess Phoebe

OB (4,2)

1: Barlow's Nightfury Bold Venture. Very smart and well balanced, so very sound and positive on the move, she went with a spring in her stride. Lovely for size and type with neat hare feet, good shoulders and quarters. Chock full of energy and enthusiasm. RCC
