MANCHESTER JUDGE CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 14

Manchester Terriers

My thanks to the society for their invitation to judge their show, to my stewards for their excellent handling of the ring & to my exhibitors for their entries, all being shown in good condition & super temperament. Problems I observed today were hind movement, (could help if shown on a looser lead) & some poor fronts.

VD (0)

PD (1)

1 Freer & Priestman’s Felfree Top Oscar, promising youngster, maturing at just right for age. Head is coming through with good ear carriage & correct dentition. Nice markings & ratio to size. Hindquarters are a little loose on move ‘dancing over’ but this should tighten up with exercise & maturity. BP.

JD (4)

1 Harrison’s Magpiebank Ash, appears up to size, has all major points .Head is nicely balanced with correct dentition. Good angulation to fore & hindquarters. Although also tends to ‘dance over’ at times on the move;

2 Doherty’s Malskred Kasperlo Balaq, unsettled today which made it difficult to assess. Smaller in size, presents a good overall picture with a nice short back. Hind movement is disjointed at times;

3 Willis’ Talanors Super Treat.

PG (1)

1 Stewart’s Eulalies Mustard Seed, erratic & needs to settle, ringcraft could help as he is spoiling his chances. Has good frame & substance. Head is clearly defined with good dentition. Nice front with clean angulated quarters. Good topline.

LD (4)

1 Ferguson’s Felfree Rocket, one of the larger types today but not lacking in quality. Presents a good picture with sound movement. ‘thumb marks are indistinct’;

2 Hemsell’s Tetani Wizard Of Dreams, smaller type Covers all standard points. When standing appears ‘bunched up’, which spoils his topline. However this does not impede his movement which was straight & with drive;

3 Buxton’s Millacome Made In Heaven.

OD (5) Super class, any dog could have changed places. It was pleasure to judge them. My compliments to their owners on their condition.

1 Carlton’s Ch Digelsa Diamond Geeza at Lizelma, oozes quality in a masculine fashion, Every inch a champion & well worthy of his title .Couldn’t fault all major points & good movement. CC;

2 Dunford, Akrigg & Walton’s Ch Quixol Alexander, another champion with all major points. Either 1 or 2 could have changed places but felt that 1 just had that extra ring presence today. RCC;

3 Savill’s Calastoa’s Man In The Mirror of Dobermatian.

GCD (1)

1 T Wizard Of Dreams, I do feel that as a special class it is a shame that more could be shown to the public by incorporating some of the exercises these dogs have passed.

VB (2,1a)

1 Hemsell’s Tetania Spirit Vision, still ‘strutting her stuff’ & at 8 years of age still looks a youngster. To size & presents a lovely feminine picture covering all points with good movement & a nice smile.

PB (4)

1 Wicker’s Mimbre Bombette, very promising little lady that I feel will show her presence in the show ring. She is maturing at just the right pace. Head is shaping well Has ratio to size with good dentition. Clean fore & hindquarter angulation with sound movement;

2 Cawley’s Malablue In A Twist, another youngster that I am sure will do well. She also has all major points but her ear carriage has still to strengthen;

3 Barlett’s Jazestry Voice Of Truth.

JB (4)

1 Fletcher & Butler’s Joemario Just A Dash, nice feminine & to size. Presents a good picture of all required points. Quarters are cleanly angulated & she has good movement;

2 Symington’s Talanora Secret Treat, nicely sized with clear markings & all standard points with good movement. Unfortunately her front is not her fortune;

3 Hemsell’s Tetani Lux Mundi.

PG (3,1)

1 Hemsell’s Tetani Spirit Of The Wind, nice size with all qualities. Head is well shaped with good ear carriage, correct dentition. Clean markings, has good depth of brisket & tuck-up. Angulation to fore & hindquarter equally balanced, was a little erratic on move;

2 Buxton’s Millecome Maid Of Magic, smaller but all qualities however appeared lethargic & also has erratic movement.

LB (4)

1 Brander’s Nightstorms Miss Chevious at Menfreys, good head with correct dentition, fore & hindquarters are clearly angulated, I also liked her brisket & tuck-up lines, made a nice clean picture. She has ratio to size, a good topline which she holds on the move, also liked her ‘quizzy’ expression, cheeky & eyecatching;

2 Cawley’s Digelsa Dancing with Darla, smaller type but still elegant with all qualities. Would has preferred more depth of brisket;

3 Savill’s Isodora for Dobermatian.

OB (5)

Another quality class once again 1 & 2 could have changed places. My final decision being that of ring presence.

1 Oxleys’ Ch Digelsa De Ja Vu, a good day for this kennel, both CC winners from the same litter & it was a pleasure to go over them. Feminine, all major points, nice size, head well defined with correct dentition. Clean markings, good overall conformation with nicely angulated to fore & hindquarters. Maintains a good topline on the move giving her a sound movement. Certainly worthy of her title A pleasure to award her another CC. CC & BOB;

2 Saxton & Dales’ Rattustrp Top Totty, shack another eyecatching bitch with all major points just lost out on that extra ‘sparkle’. RBCC

3 Dunford & Akrigg’s Ch Paucelin Armana by Quixol.

GCB (1)

1 T Spirit Vision, another bitch from the Tetani kennels. Breeders have really worked hard today. Well Done. Handled & shown to perfection.

Breeders (1)

1 Mr & Mrs Hemsell’s, the team were well presented, confidently handled, moved & shown in unison, that can be difficult with one handler a perfect team. Couldnt fault. Was pleased to see they also won the breeder group.
