MANCHESTER JUDGE BOURNEMOUTH 15

Manchester Terriers

Thank you to the committee for this first CC appointment to one of my favourite Terrier breeds that I have at home, the glorious weather that Bournemouth had enjoyed on the previous days changed to rain, the judging of dogs was completed outside, but there was no let up of the rain & it became quite obvious with the first class of bitches that judging needed to be concluded under cover, I thank the exhibitors for this quality entry & accepting my decisions sportingly.

PD (1)

1 Walshaw’s Talanors Diamonds N’ Dreams avec Janmark, 9½ months, developing nicely throughout, ears set high, scissor bite, elegant neck, not too wide in front, legs viewed straight, thumbmarks present & small feet, good body & rearquarters, he moves well & holds himself nicely in profile, should have a bright future. BP.

JD (1,1a).

PGD (1,1).

LD (1)

1 Harrison’s Magpiebank Ash, 2 years with good wedge shaped head, dark almond shaped eyes, scissor bite with nice big teeth, ears are not quite high enough, nice body shape in profile & front legs viewed straight with ample bone, really liked him for type, strength & substance, should receive the top honours soon. RCC.

OD (2)

1 Norris’ Ch Brookstream Louis De Blue, 5 years, masculine throughout with glossy black coat, excellent size & proportions correct, good feet, lovely front & shoulder set correctly, firm back & loin, adequate rear angulation, he scores on balance & soundness, free mover with drive. CC;

2 Ferguson’s Ch Felfree Rocket, 3 years, long head just spoilt by ears a touch wide, scissor bite, eyes dark & I would prefer them more almond shaped, firm body with good depth & underline, well angulated quarters, showed himself off well in wet conditions, even & free mover.

JB (2)

1 Palmer’s Egloshayle Queen Of The May, 15 months, nice overall type & feminine throughout, dark brown almond shaped eyes, scissor bite, clean neck into compact body, front legs viewed straight with well arched feet, balanced rearquarters with stifle well bent, steady mover;

2 Maidment’s Egloshayle Tegan, 15 months, litter sister to winner but not from the same mould being deeper in chest & a bump on her loin that detracts, feminine head, dark eyes & scissor bite, rose ears didn’t help expression, moved wide on the front.

PGB (2)

1 Young’s Mimbre Monsoon, 22 months, head of medium length yet feminine throughout, dark eyes, scissor bite, compact body, front legs viewed straight with distinct thumbmark & ample bone, well bent stifle, steady mover;

2 Maidment’s Egloshayle Daisy May, 12 months, nice head but large ears also a round eye I prefer more almond, elegant neck but carries too much weight over her loin. Front legs straight with good thumbmarks & nice feet, moves a touch wide coming towards me.

LB (3)

1 Cawley’s Marlablue In A Twirl, 22 months, ultra feminine that makes a lovely shape in profile, long head, flat & narrow, tight lips, scissor bite, good clean neck fitting well into her body that make a lovely harmonious shape, balanced quarters, well presented & shown, should have a bright future. RCC;

2 Wicker’s Mimbre Bombette, 22 months, good strong wedge shaped head with a nice dark eye, scissor bite, her ears fly away, front legs viewed straight with strong bone & well arched toes, touch long in loin, well bent stifle, moved as one with the handler just prefer her to be more positive in front, shown well;

3 Symington’s Talanors Secret Treat.

OB (4)

1 Smith’s Simjest Kiara’s Candy Girl, 2 years, a very elegant bitch feminine throughout, superb wedge shaped head with the required fill under the eyes, ears set well on top, lovely neck flowing into well laid shoulders, well sprung ribs, straight front legs viewed with thumb marked & nice feet, presented in superb condition, she moved around the ring freely with drive. CC, BOB;

2 Walshaw’s Ch Digelsa Diva avec Janmark, 2 years, worthy Ch, an elegant bitch, smaller throughout than winner with a good head & strong jaws, lovely front & her body is nicely cut up, excellent quarters, good colour & markings, front just a little wide on the move;

3 Thurlow’s Erkenwyne Lady Guinevere.

VB (1)

1 Thurlow’s Brenandi Genteel Gypsy at Erkenwyne Guinevere, 7 years young with good coat & body condition, feminine head with dark eyes, just a touch round I would prefer more almond shaped, scissor bite, flies ears, clean neck, firm back with chest deep, stifle straight which showed on the move, causing her to skip. BV.
