Manchester Terriers

I must compliment the exhibitors in this breed for the conditioning, bloom & muscle tone of their dogs & the fact that even the golden oldies had such clean white teeth. Obviously Manchester people believe in exercising their dogs! It was interesting to discover that both CC winners, the RCC bitch & BP were all sired by Ch Newtonian Slim Shady. Front movement & light eyes seem to be the breed’s major problems at the moment.

VD (1)

1 Fitch & Reeve’s Westwytch Calico Cadeau, 7 years with excellent head & expression & wonderful dentition, well marked, correct bone. Topline could be more defined, moves quite well but tail carried a little high. In lovely nick.

PD (0).

JD (4)

1 Stedman’s Mansiya Dare To Be Different, 13 months with excellent head qualities though the eye could be a little darker. Excellent forehand, well angulated throughout, correct markings & the desired topline. With maturity needs to develop a little in second thigh but his movement was steady & true. RCC;

2 Eva’s Sophyla Sam Brown, the instant eyecatcher in the class as he makes a very impressive picture on the stack. Quality head & expression, well angulated front & back but I would like a little better defined topline & he was not quite as true up & down as 1;

3 Saxton, Dale & Dale’s Rattustrap Black Sheep.

PGD (2)

1 Brown & Arundel’s Browdel Potters Pickles, compactly built with balanced head but again a darker eye & a little more stop would improve expression. Not the most masculine but he has a look of great quality. Could have been tighter coming on but excelled going away;

2 S Sam Brown.

LD (3)

1 Renshaw & Robinson’s Talanors Smart Treat with Westbank, took time to settle as he insisted on pacing to begin with, but eventually moved true & soundly. Excellent head type, well bodied with by far the best hindquarters in the class, well ribbed & angulated, in gleaming condition & appealed in outline;

2 Norris’ Brookstream Louis de Blue, pleasing head & moved steadily & true, in beautiful bloom. Not quite as well bodied or shapely as 1 at the moment or his outstanding hindquarters;

3 Clifton’s Gloryline Henry The Seventh.

OD (2)

1 Beardow’s Ch Talanors Hellova Treat for Sipowitz, appealed instantly for his overall balance, clean lines & correct construction, lovely head type, moderate angulation & enough definition of topline, such an excellent mover. CC & BOB with some to spare.

VB (1)

1 de Lavis-Trafford’s Ch Tyburn Faedra, 11 years but in fine fettle & enjoying her day. Feminine head, compact body, moved better behind that in front but still has a very appealing outline. BV.

PB (6)

1 Knight’s Talanors Taylor Made Treat, 10 months & a real beauty, so shapely & stylish with quality head, lovely expression with darker eye than most. Flowing lines, all of a piece & well marked. Moved soundly & with style. BP & RCC, pushed very hard for the big one but with full maturity her day will come;

2 Oxley & Oxley’s Digelsa De Ja Vu, 7 months & understandably less forward than 1, lacking her body development. Elegant head, slightly longer coupled than 1 & not as well angulated behind. Needs time;

3 Cawley’s Digelsa Dancing With Darla.

JB (3)

1 Freer’s Mansiya Casting Circles with Felfree, 17 months, generally well balanced with good angulation & a gently shaped outline. Balanced head, moved adequately;

2 Leigh’s Calastoa English Rose to Mansiya, 13 months, rather more extreme in topline than 1 & a little heavier over shoulder. Appealed in head, good angles throughout & steady mover;

3 Hammett’s Digelsa Double Take for Bryedal.

PGB (1)

1 Bynam & Bynam’s Lacinka Liquid Gold at Ceebee, well marked, quality head but a little light in eye & rather coarse coat. Very well muscled hindquarters, excellent angulation all through, goes away well but a little blousy in front.

LB (5)

1 Palmer’s Egloshayle Sea Lily, compact, shapely, lovely size with excellent head & expression. Very well put together & moved accordingly when she settled, very impressive outline & perfectly balanced. CC, her 2nd. I am sure she will soon become a worthy Ch;

2 Saxton, Dale & Dale’s Egloshayle Sea Sprite of Rattustrap, litter sister to 1 & the same basic type & shape but a little flatter backed & not quite as accurate coming on. Nonetheless a very high quality bitch with a beautiful expression & elegant neck;

3 Bynam & Bynam’s Lacinka Liquid Gold at Ceebee.

OB (8)

1 Oxley & Oxley’s Ch Digelsa Double Entendre, top quality bitch of excellent type & in pristine condition who I have admired previously at group level. Today I found her front movement rather disappointing when it came to the CC;

2 Knight’s Talanors Tomorrows Deams, standing looked the winner as she has a fabulous outline but she could be better marked & again she was rather generous in front. Real quality all through with excellent head & outline;

3 Palmer’s Egloshayle Black Rosewyn.
