MANCHESTER JUDGE BLACKPOOL 21

It was a pleasure to judge the breed at Championship Show level. I found it an absorbing morning and appreciated the good entry, thank you.

PD (1)

1 Oxley’s Digelsa Double Agent. 11 months, tall puppy who is full of quality with his beautiful head, small dark eyes and good ears. Narrow front and excellent legs and feet. Good colours and markings and his movement is accurate and fluent. Tail carriage was correct. He looks a teenager and a touch angular rather than curvy in his lines at the moment and trust this will come as he matures. His quality won him RCC and Best Puppy.

YD (1)

1 Knight’s Talanors Typically Elite. 19 months old dog, close to standard in size and some curve over his loin falling to tailset. He has a clean wedge-shaped head, good ears and a keen expression. Correct rib and good depth and tuck up. Clean front action but could use his hocks more effectively and he was not very fluent with his handler on the day. Thumb marks could be more defined. The overall package pleased me most in the dog classes on the day and he won the CC.

LD (2) 1 Plant’s Plantocracy Bold Bruce JW. 2 years old with a degree of elegance about him, especially in his forehand and front movement. Good head shape. Ears could be a little higher set. In lovely coat with good markings. He needs a little more rear angulation and his angular croup and tail carriage can be better.

2 Ysher Digelsa Dark Sensation. 2 year old who is a taller and heavier dog all through. Masculine with strong bone. Rear movement disappoints.

OD (4)

1 Barlow’s Talanors Time For Magic. 2 year old dog who is of standard size and standing has some curves to his topline with good underline. He is a refined dog with a lot of breed type and I liked him a lot. I would prefer him a touch more masculine. Good head shape and eye. A fluent mover and won this class well. In the challenge his tail carriage spoiled this picture, a pity.

2 Straughan & Cripps’ Talanors In For A Treat. 5 year old stronger dog of standard size. He has quality in head piece but his ears are a touch heavy. Moved well but I would prefer a better croup and tailset.

3 Spain’s Ch Talanors Diamond Tornado.

VD (2)

1 Olbinson & Kelly’s Paucelin Andoni At Carapast. Remarkable at 11 years, and apart from his colours fading he has retained quality and breed type and clean head, narrow front with some curves in his outline and a degree of elegance. Going soundly and obviously enjoying his day. BV.

2 Hebb Paucelin Falster JW. 7 years, taller dog with long clean wedge of a head. In very good coat and clear colours. Lacking the angulation and drive of the winner.

PB (3)

Three good puppies.

1 Knight’s Talanors Destiny Angel. 7 months, beautiful puppy stood away here for size and smooth curves to her outline held on the move. Standard size, well put together and went well. She has an appealing feminine head with good eye. She can fill out generally but she is a real prospect.

2 Oxley’s Black Bandits Anything Goes At Digelsa. 7 months, stronger bitch with good head piece, bone and colours and markings. At the moment a little unco-ordinated on the move.

3 Johnson’s Carapast Dark Shadows. This was a very good puppy with a lot of potential but hard to assess as she needs training for the showring. I hope her handler will take my advice as she could do very well.

JB (1)

1 Forshaw’s Jandor Moonlight Melody. I liked this 16 month bitch a lot, curvy, feminine and full of breed qualities. Lovely size, well angulated and uses this on the move. In excellent condition. I liked her all through and won RCC.
YB (4) 1 Forshaw’s Jandor Moonlight Melody. Repeat.

2 Watkins’ Ruffagga Bewitching Girl. 18 months old, a lovely sized bitch with excellent head and eyes. Shown with too much body on her which took away her lines.

3 Gouldsborough Talanors Typically Magic.

LB (2)

1 Straughan & Cripps’ Talanors Time To Shine At Mannikai. Top sized bitch with a lot of quality and shown in pristine, fit condition, her coat and colours gleaming. She is well constructed with deep chest, excellent front and some of the best feet of the day. Quality head and good ears. Could have a little more curve over the loin. Went well.

2 O’Boyle’s Plantocracy Hermione At Ruffagga.

OB (6)

Best class of the day for depth of quality.

1 Knight’s Ch Talanors Typically Special. 5 year old bitch of lovely size and great type throughout. Retains her lines on the move with correct tail carriage and clean action. Not quite in her best coat but she appealed to me greatly for type and quality and her carriage on the move. BCC & BOB.

2 Rudd’s Digelsa Dark Velvet. 3 year old bitch of quality in superb condition, firm and fit. Good clean colours and markings. Good head, ears could be neater. Sound mover.

3 Goodwin’s Ch Digelsa Date Night At Holtaire.

VB (1)

1 Jones’ Barleydust Fayre Day. 7 year old of good proportions but carrying too much body which detracts from her shape, particularly on the move. Good head shape but the ears are a little heavy.
