MANCHESTER BLACKPOOL 09 Judge: Mr Nigel H Norris
Manchester Terriers Loved to go over all these lovely dogs, all with excellent teeth & bite, shiny white, good presentation. Movement is an issue which needs to be addressed. I was always told champions are made at home & lead work is an important part of this to get good tight front & drive from the rear. As far as I am aware the Bedlington is the only terrier which should move close behind. Good movement showed in my winners as well as type, both CCs to the same kennel, what a triumph. PD (4) 1 Forshaw’s Janzins Rock Star, good type, dark almond eye, sound teeth, long head, plenty of fill, dark tan, nice markings, nice size. Just to fill out, promising; 2 Creber & Beardow’s Talanors Hellova Treat for Sipowitz, nice type, good head with fill under dark almond eye, good ear placement, good coat & colour, moved well, nice puppy; 3 Brander’s Churnet Concerto at Menfreya. JD (3) 1 Leigh’s Sophyla Sorcerer of Mansiya, lovely type, masculine & elegant wedged head, crest of neck, good lay of shoulder, excellent tan & markings, coat presented well, moved straight with drive, liked this one very much, one to watch for the future. RCC; 2 Symington’s Quixol Havoc, good head, dark eye & ear carriage, nice tan & markings, only a puppy. Needs more time; 3 Dales’ Megellan Rumble in Rattustrap. LD (3,1a) 1 Morris’ Calastoa Amber Nectar, sound masculine dog, good for type, plenty of bone, well muscled, nice shaped wedged head, good dark almond eye with fill, correct markings, good tailset & carriage, good shoulder & bend of stifle, showed well, moved out with drive. CC; 2 Holmes’ Egloshayle Black Carlyn, good for type, dark eye, plenty of bone, good ears, crest of neck into good shoulders, handled & moved well, plenty of drive from the rear. OD (3,1) 1 Braybrook’s Gloryline Sir Thomas More, good strong dog, dark eye & fill, good neck & shoulder, nice over loin, bend of stifle, tailset correct, moved OK; 2 Broxup’s Ch Digelsa Dig Deep at Brockenella, well made dog, typy with a good eye & ears, straight front, nice shoulders, good shape, arch over loin, nice tan & markings, moved OK. PB (3) 1 Palmer’s Egloshayle Tangleberry, lovely feminine puppy, very typy, head good with lovely almond eye, good for size, crest of neck, lay of shoulder, bend of stifle & tail carriage, dark tan & markings, promising puppy; 2 Brown’s Quixol Chaos, nice type, colour & markings, good shape, tight feet, moved OK; 3 Forshaw’s Janzins Star Struck. JB (3) 1 Leigh’s Sophyla Sally for Mansiya, elegant bitch, good wedged head, nice ear & eye, good type & size, wonderful shape, correct shoulders, front & loin, correct bee sting tail, lovely tuck-up, moved & handled with style; 2 Palmer’s Egloshayle Black Rosewyn, very nice bitch, close to 1, well presented, correct breed characteristics as 1, moved well, should have a bright future; 3 Churm’s Digelsa Dream Maker of Wystry. LB (5) 1 Morris’ Calastoa Ruby Tuesday, stunning, elegant, sound feminine bitch of correct size, lots to like, best I have seen for a long time, fits the Standard well, what we should be aiming for, good wedged head with fill under a dark almond eye, super ears, rich dark mahogany tan, correct topline, tailset on & carried well on the move, good bend of stifle, well muscled second thigh, tip-top condition, flowed round the ring & never stopped showing, best mover.
