Lakeland Terriers

Rear movement in some animals was a real cause for concern. I doubt they would last a day on the fell. In these days of ‘fit for function’ surely this is the most basic of requirements for a Lakeland. Shoulder placement in some exhibits left a lot to be desired. On the plus side mouths & temperaments were good.

1 Greenway’s Rayfos Fire Walker, clean head, good straight front, good bend of stifle, showed well.

1 Davani’s Gosel Simply The Man at Kebulak, good all round quality dog who would have pushed for top honours had he been in better coat & trim;

2 Mason & Connell’s Rafingham Rifleman, good Lakie head & expression, super coat & condition. Lost out to 1 on rear movement;

3 Kerrigan & Leadbeater’s Leadstaffs Sensation.

1 Byrne, Browbank & Punter’s Eskwyre Back In The Red, clean head. Ears a shade light. Lovely long neck, well laid shoulder, good rear angulation, tail on top, beautifully presented, in fantastic coat & condition. CC;

2 Manser, English & Averis’ Ch Nujax My Way, masculine Lakie & a real shower in decent fettle. Lost out to 1 on shoulder placement & head properties. RCC;

3 Greenway’s Rayfos Turning Hawk.

PB (2,1a)

1 Greenway’s Rayfos Alphabet, 7 months baby, full of exuberance, moved & showed well, slightly better performance than the dog in the challenge. BP.

JB (3,1)

Davani’s Kebulak Swing On A Star, well matured junior, a shade upright in shoulder. Would benefit from a new jacket & a bit more trimming. Moved & showed well;

2 Needham’s Rayfos Gold Shadow at Needex, good hard coat, moved & showed well. At this stage lacks a bit of maturity & some more furnishings would improve the overall picture.

1 Anderson’s Corrivackie Opal, super coat & condition, short coupled, tail on top & showed really well. Her ears are a little on the light side.

LB (5,1)

1 Connell & Corbett’s Sonnora Molly Malone, super coat & condition, good length of neck & well laid shoulders, good rear angulation & tailset. I would prefer a bit more refinement through the head;

2 Stott & Williams’ Brocolitia Copyright, lovely long neck & well laid shoulder, nice expression. Ears a little on the heavy side. In good fettle;

3 C Opal.

1 Jones & Averis’ Saredon Unveiled to Mikeland, short coupled, super neck & shoulders, good angulation, absolutely sparkling coat & condition, showed & moved well from all angles. CC & BOB;

2 Whitehead & Connell’s Stanstead Take A Chance On Me, a difficult colour to get into the sparkling coat & condition this bitch was in. Nice make & shape, long neck, short back, tail on top, showed at the top of her form. RCC;

3 Greenway’s Rayfos Hawk Leaf.
