Lakeland Terrier Club - Championship Show 13/04/14
Held at Lach Dennis Village Hall

Judge Alan Johnston

It is always an honour to judge at our breeds parent club, my thanks to all the organisers for doing such a great job, the kitchen volunteers for a superb lunch and to my very able steward on the day Mrs Wendy Bower and last but not least to all the exhibitors for making such a lovely, relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

As an overview of the entry it was very pleasing to note that there were several lakies owned by some of our newer exhibitors that with more polished presentation skills are capable of troubling the more experienced
Old Guard.

Puppy Dog (1:0)

1st , RDCC & BPIS - Byrne & Vickers Ellenside War Admiral at Eskwyre Super Sound 11 month puppy lovely head and ears good expression, long neck, Well laid Shoulder, level back, well Set on tail would prefer a little more behind, Beautifully presented, it was an extremely close decision between this pup and the CC winner

Junior Dog (2:1)

1st Mr & Mrs Connells Sonorra Fiery Jack - Just 12 months, coat of good texture and a super colour showed really well, his ears are a bit heavy which spoils his expression.

Open Dog (2:1)

1st DCC & BOS Barker, Fraser & Sacco s Am. Ch. Larkspur Acadia Save me a Spot, Strong head and muzzle super front not quite the layback of shoulder i prefer ,Short Coupled with a good tailset and plenty behind, beautifullypresented in the harshest of coats moved and showed well.

Minor Puppy Bitch (1:0)

1st & BOS puppy Leadbeatter & Kerrigan s - Leadstaffs Party Doll - 7 1/2 month Gave her handler a bit of a hard time today !! Nice Bitch all through, good front, nice head and expression a shade up to size for this age, sound when settled

Junior Bitch (1:0)

1st Burgoine & E & C Woodward Ralphina Follow the Rainbow to Jelliroll A Close decision between 1st and 2nd Both nice bitches but i preferred the outline and tailset of this one, she needs a little more weight and a bit more polish on presentation

2nd Evans Ralphina Chasing Rainbows So Similar to 1st nice head and expression Moved and showed well a good bitch that with presentation would present a different picture.

3rd Leadbeatter & Kerrigan s - Leadstaffs Pyjamarama

Novice Bitch (1:0)

1st Benyon s Keldthwaite Minnie the Minx - Very Sound and Showed Very well a shade thicker in Skull than i prefer and her ears are a bit on the heavy side but a nice bitch all through a bit of polish in presentation would only improve the overall picture.

Post Graduate Bitch (3:0)

1st Burgoine & E & C Woodward Eskwyre The Whole Shebang Shows like a bomb and moves well, a nice bitch all through that could do with losing a pound as its not helping her front

2nd .S & G Mackenzie Golden Uldale Plover Red Bitch with a nice head and expression ears a little flyaway & a shade long in the back, showed well

Limit Bitch (1:0)

1st , BCC & BIS Byrne & Vickers Riva Ridge at Eskwyre A very good bitch from all angles & presented to perfection, clean head, good ears, sharp expression, long neck , well laid Shoulders, clean front, short back , tail on top & plenty behind, moved soundly, showed well, quite Simply a quality bitch
