LAKELAND CRUFTS 26 Judge: Mrs S Connell It was an honour to accept the invitation to judge one of my favourite breeds at Crufts and I wish to express my gratitude to Tom Mather and his committee for their invitation. Thank you to the exhibitors for the lovely entry and my two efficient stewards. JD (2/1) 1 Loreleilee Doe Dandy Dan (Atkin) – Top sized and a touch too long for optimum balance. His head was proportionate in length but too heavy in skull and his eyes and ears were correctly placed and he had a good length of neck into well laid-back shoulders. Level topline and well-developed quarters. It was difficult to assess movement, and he would benefit from ring craft training. PGD (1/0) 1 Loreleilee Me Bashful at Thozow (MFoster) – Decent head with well placed eyes and ears of the desired shape and size. Enough neck into a good forehand and he maintained a level topline. Moved true both ways. LD (2/1) 1 Nisyros Rigatoni for Lokilake (Clayton) – This dog is good for size, bone and substance. His head is typical and he portrays a desired expression. Good length of neck into shoulders set well back and deep ribs extending back to a short loin. Level topline to his tail set that could be set a tad higher. Presented in lovely condition and moved true in the front and a touch close in the rear. OD (6/0) 1 UK & INT Ch Under Pressure Foxhouse (Imp Mlt) (Schembri & Browne-Cole & Davani) This dog appeals for size, balance and type. He has a wonderful head as his skull is flat and clean and of equal ratio to his strong foreface. His ears and eyes are of the desired size and shape to enhance his expression. His reachy neck flows into a super forehand with shoulders set at the desired angle with a proportionate upper arm and straight, well boned forelegs onto good feet. His ribs are deep and extend well back to a short loin. His quarter angles are moderately turned to mirror his front assembly and well developed in muscle tone. He carries a level top line and a good tail set and was presented in super condition. He moved effortlessly around the ring while maintaining his typical outline. CC & BOB and pleased to hear he went on to achieve terrier group 1. Congratulations to all involved. 2 Ch Saredon Revere (Ryan & Averis) Another very smart male who was unlucky to meet the winner. He has lovely head proportions with typically placed eyes and ears and portrays a good expression. He has a good length of neck into a well-made front assembly and his quarter angles are spot on. He was presented in excellent order and moved soundly both ways. I just preferred the size of the winner. RCC 3 Nordlicht von Den Schönen Bergen (Schoneberg) Reserve - Jodean Tennesse at Coppatrota (Blow) VHC - Ch/it Ch Jodean Dallas (Galea) VD (1/0) 1 Ch Paperman Locomotion (Ang) – An eye-catching male of 9 years of age who was presented in lovely condition. His head and expression are good and he has enough neck into a well made front. Level topline and well angulated quarters. He moved very sound fore and aft and is a credit to his owners. BV JB (2/0) 1 Ch Sanmeres Sydney (Ang) – Pretty bitch who projects a nice outline. Her head is of desired proportions with correctly placed eyes and ears. She is correctly angulated in the front and rear and is short coupled. She was presented in good coat and condition and moved true out and back. 2 Renevis Serena of Coppatrota (Blow) – This bitch has a typical head and expression, enough neck into a well-constructed front assembly, level topline and well-made quarters. She was presented in good condition and moved soundly both ways. The winner won on a more balanced outline. PGB (4/0) 1 Stanstead Pandora Pitstop (Whitehead) – A lovely young female who has a flat and clean skull with an equal ratio of foreface. Her ears and eyes are correct for size, shape and placement attributing to her expression. Lengthy neck into shoulders set well back, straight and well boned forelegs and ribs carried well back to a short loin. Her quarters are well turned and developed in muscle tone, and she held a level topline on the stack and moving. Presented in good condition and sound on the out and back. RCC 2 Saredon Evolve for Furlishous (Wood) – A nice size who has a decent head and expression and a good length of neck. Level topline and well-made quarters. Moved well in both ways and presented in good order. Not the front assembly of the winner. 3 Cheston What About Us (Laëti Renoud Grappin) 4 Kensequi Zennia (Ellis-Poole) LB (4/1) 1 Nebula Foxhouse (Valli) – This is an eye-catching bitch who has a lovely head and neck into well placed shoulders. Her ribs are deep and are carried well back and her quarters are angulated and developed in muscle tone. She was presented to the minute and moved soundly both ways. However I would prefer smaller ears with more lift to compliment her expression. 2 Lokilake Rainbow Red (Clayton) – Pretty bitch who was presented in lovely coat and condition. Her head is typical and she is well constructed in front and rear. She moved with correct footfall and showed well. I preferred the size and balance of the winner. 3 Chelines in Love (Martinez Oses) OB (5/2) 1 Xante Van Foliny Home (De Munter-Uiterwijk) A typical bitch who is good for size, type and balance. She has a clean head of desired proportions and portrays a typical expression. Reachy neck into a well-constructed forehand, level topline, short coupled and a well-set tail. Her quarters are nicely angulated, and she was presented in excellent coat and condition. Moved soundly both ways. BCC 2 Jasmin von Den Schoenen Bergen (Schoneberg) – Another lovely type who is slightly bigger. Clean head with a correct ratio of foreface, well placed eyes of the correct size, but her expression was spoiled by her ears which are a tad too big and low set. Good length of neck into a well angulated front, level topline and well-made quarters. Presented to the minute and moved soundly both ways. 3 Laketrix Pretty Things with Raniero (Betts) Sonia Connell |
