LAKELAND BORDER UNION 09 Judge(s) MR B KERRUSH DCC CH LOUIEVILLE RED PRINCE (MRS W JOHNSTON) Lakeland Terriers Overall quality is quite good, no bad mouths. I have never had an entry with so many reds, but be careful, pigmentation was poor in many red exhibits. PD (4,2a) 1 Vickers & Punter’s Eskwyre Back In The Red, striking red puppy, good in every department, pleasing head & ears, good length of neck, good shoulders, level topline, good tailset, coat just coming, moved well when settled. RCC; 2 Leadbeater & Kerrigan’s Leadstaffs Sensation, grizzle puppy, more rangy than 1 & larger in eye, moved OK, just longer cast. JD (2,1) 1 Maughan’s Brocolitia Copper, just out of puppy, this short coupled young red pleased me on the table, nice expression, good eye & ears, compact, in good coat, good turn of stifle. Moved well behind but pinned in coming back. PGD (1) 1 Johnston’s Oregill Hot Shot, up to size dark grizzle, nice type, typical of this kennel, good expression, fine head, good length of neck, level topline, good rear angulation. Crabbed badly on the move making it difficult to assess movement. LD (1) A. OD (4,3) 1 Johnston’s Ch Louieville Red Prince, this is the first time I have had the pleasure of going over this outstanding red. Good expression, skull neither coarse nor too fine & topped by the best Lakelend ears I have seen for years. Good length of neck on perfect shoulders, excellent front which he seems to be keeping, level topline, short coupled, good tailset with good rear angulation. Could have had a little more coat but it is while on the move that he impresses most, perfect going & coming back, he almost floats over the ground. CC & BOB. PB (4,2) 1 Bower’s Raffingham Forget Me Not, compact red puppy, good head & expression, adequate neck, in excellent jacket but very raw. Moved better after a few paces, good in front but needs to tighten behind; 2 Maughan’s Brocolitia I’ve Been Tangoed, red puppy with promise but very raw, needs time & training. JB 1 Walker’s Kilmarth Andromeda, very nice red, won on conformation, good head & expression, belting coat, short coupled, moved well. RCC; 2 Davani’s Nujax Under The Influence at Kebulak, r/grizzle, rather heavier than 1, wider in front, flashy mover but not tight enough, would have liked less bone, particularly in her skull. PGB (2) 1 Thompson’s Brocolitia Follow On, rangy r/grizzle who pleased the eye, good head & expression, plenty of neck & in good coat. Moved OK in front but very close behind, could carry another two pounds to advantage; 2 Anderson’s Corrievackie Opal, dark grizzle, quite compact & in excellent coat, pleased on the table. Moved OK going away, but in front she is wide at the top, leading to pinning in. LB (2) 1 Kenyon’s Wyndam Witchcraft, compact red, just going through the motions, lacked animation, could be tighter in front. Best of coats & in good condition; 2 C Opal. OB 1 Vickers & Punter’s Eskwyre A Fine Romance, dark grizzle, correct size, good head & expression, nice length of neck, good shoulders, good level topline, excellent set-on, good rear angulation, moved well when settled. Just lacking a jacket when it came to the big decision. CC; 2 Johnston’s Oregill Intuition, lighter grizzle, good in every department, nice size & all Lakeland, moved well but lacked condition.
