Thank you to the officers and committee for the invitation to judge this show held after the breed judging at National Terrier and thank you to the exhibitors for entering. Overall quality was good. There was an interesting variation in size and type.

Veteran D/B (4:3a)

1st Carvey’s Ch. Arkama Pinball Wizard at Philwyre. Almost 11 years old, a quality dog in super condition for his age. Lovely coat and colour, well made throughout, liked his head and eye, ears slightly erratic on the day, good angulation both ends, nice neck and topline. Moved soundly and showed steadily.

Beginners D/B

1st/BD/BOS/RBIS Seddon & Butler’s Lemracdream Donatello. Approaching 18 months. A really stylish quality dog. Well balanced quality head, good eye, ears and expression with strong jaw. Excellent angulation both ends giving him excellent overall balance. Lovely neck and shoulders. Compact body, level topline with excellent substance. Lovely coat and colour for age. In excellent body condition. Moved freely with lovely carriage, showed and handled well.

PD (3:1a)

1st/RBD/BPD/BPIS: Davani’s Kebulak Wear My Kiss. Almost 11 months, very smart well grown and co-ordinated puppy in lovely condition and very well presented. Liked his head, eye and ears, well balanced in body and moved soundly.

2nd: Forrest & Scott’s Lacarnaveen One and Only. I liked this puppy I thought him very promising but not as forward or as together as the winner. Preferred the overall picture on the day of the winner.

JD (1)

1st: Seddon & Butler’s Lemracdream Donatello (see Beginners dog)

PGD (2:1a)

1st: Easton & Mackay ‘s Kebulak Heart Of Stone with Widdershins. A lot to like about this stylish dog, lovely coat and colour, excellent showman, well balanced head, good expression, good neck and shoulders, level topline, compact body, tail on top and a sound free mover. Well proportioned for his size, would just like more of him all over. Very well handled and presented.

LD (5:3a)

1st: Carter’s Kebulak French Connection. Well presented 2 year old dog, nice size, well balanced. Prefer a better coat texture and bit more body. Moved soundly.

2nd: Earle & Kelly’s Miculadh Edge of Glory at Dollagh. Lovely coat and colour, showed ok but needs to settle down a bit more.

OD (3:2a)

1st: Carvey’s Dollagh Intercity Gent at Philwyre. 6 year old dog, excellent coat and colour, nicely proportioned all through, nice length of leg and general balance. Showed steadily and co-operated well for handler, just needed a little more spirit to make the most of himself, although he did stand alone in the class.

MPB (2)

1st: Cooper’s Crystal Moonshine at Newcheshire
Very pretty and feminine puppy bitch, clean head, nice ears and expression. Had a good outline standing. Interested in everything and rather excitable moving, which made it hard to assess her movement on the day. Will benefit from more experience in the ring.

2nd: Earle & Kelly’s Clanciarrai Adante at Dollagh. Another pretty puppy, steadier on the move than the winner but not as a forward or quite as well balanced as the winner at this stage, will benefit from time and maturity.

PB (1)

1st & BPB: Forrest & Scott’s Lacarnaveen My Little Rose. Promising puppy bitch, nice size and outline, attractive head, short compact body, good legs and feet, moved and performed well for handler.

JB (2)

1st & RBB: Ensell’s Nemiah Shades Of Grey. Very promising 13 months high quality bitch with good coat and colour for age. Very nice head and expression, has an impressive outline with a good length of neck, good shoulders, well made front and rear, stands four square naturally, excellent body and spring of rib (which several lacked today), compact body, level topline, moved and showed very well. In lovely condition and so well presented. Close decision for Best Bitch, but maturity and finish won the day. Understand she won BOB at National Terrier earlier today, thank you to the owners for showing her again at this show prior to the group judging at National Terrier.

PGB (5:2a)

Very nice class

1st: Munro & Munro’s Arkama Guilty Pleasure. Lovely quality feminine bitch, lovely coat and colour, particularly liked her clean head, good ears and expression and lovely neck and shoulders. Well balanced in body, short level topline. Moved and showed very well for her young handler.

2nd: Hetherington’s Irisblu Aiveen for Newent Close up to 1. Another quality bitch perhaps a better size than the winner, very well handled and presented made a lovely picture overall but just preferred the winner for her forehand qualities.
3rd: Carter’s Kebulak Belly Dancer

LB (5:2a) 1st: McCann’s Ballybaloe Mary Poppins. Very attractive young bitch, Lovely long clean flat head with strong foreface, nice neck and shoulders, short enough in body. Well balanced throughout. Moved and showed well. Has a look of quality about her.

2nd: Jones’ Arkama Harmony Miss D' Arcy. Nice bitch with lovely colour. Showed well, not quite matching the winner in head.

3rd: Wilkinson’s Cranmoss Crackling Rose

OB (3)

1st/BB/BIS: Carson’s Kebulak Miss Sixty. High quality 3 year old bitch, top size, makes a very attractive picture. Correct coat and colour, super long clean head, good ears and expression. Good neck, particularly noted her flat clean shoulders. Lovely outline well balanced in body, good legs and feet. Excellent carriage moving, moved freely and soundly. Loved her spirited temperament, typical for the breed. Very well handled and presented.

2nd: Clarke-O'Neill’s Lemracdream Blue Ivy. Another high quality bitch, different type to the winner. Liked her size, compact with excellent substance. Well balanced head, impressive outline, good neck and shoulders, legs and feet, short level strong body. Another good moving one. Very well handled and presented.

3rd: Rafter’s Arkama My Way

Andrew Goodsell
