KERRY BLUE JUDGE BELFAST 24

I would like to thank the committee of Belfast Dog Show Society for the kind invitation to judge Kerry Blue terriers at their prestigious Championship show. Thank you also to my Stewart and also thank you to everyone who entered and took my decisions graciously. This was my fourth time to award CCs in this breed. On my first occasion I had an entry of over 60 dogs however the numbers have sadly reduced. I think this is the same in many breeds today. My entry was consistent with the breed average this year. I am pleased to say that that alough the numbers have reduced but the quality has not.

PD

1 Cushnahan. Cushkagorm The Maveric A well grown puppy, I liked his overall shape. Nicely balanced head and good reach of neck and level top line. Super coat and colour for his age and presented well. Steady on the move definitely one to watch out for in the future.

2 White Clancaari North Blue A super young dog showing well, alert with a nice expression. In construction everything was in the right place, a different type to number 1 but still lots of quality and potential at 7 months old.

JD

1 Jordan Dinnyesvarosi Agua Azul A strong headed dog with a nice dark eye and a good mouth with correct bite and pigmentation. A nicely balanced body with a good spring of rib. Correct coat with signs of colour coming through. On the day his movement let him down

PGD

1 Daly Left Back Ar Still a young dog at 19 months a little more to finish him off. What a super head piece he had, super length and well balanced. Nice reach of neck with good front angulations allowing good ground coverage. Lovely texture in coat again some colour coming through. A worthy winner of the reserve CC.

LD

1. Anderson, Butterfield, Quigg &, Watt Irisblu High Expectations A great example of the breed and a natural showman, this fella did not put a foot wrong. Super well balanced head with excellent strength of foreface. A nice dark eye and a keen Kerry expression. He had good reach of neck running into a perfect level top line. The coat texture was soft and if it was a little longer would have a classical wave. There was evidence of colour but like most of the dogs today the light did not enhance this. An easy choice for the dog CC.

LB

1 Marley Lismar Markeivicz Nicely balanced bitch well presented with a proper coat and colour. A good head with good ear set and showing every second she was in the ring. A well developed back end with nice bend in stifle allowing heR to cover the ground with ease. My bitch reserve CC.

OB

1. Clanciarri Blue Note This bitch fitted right into the breed standard. A super famine animal and great example of the breed. Her head was nicely balanced and she had a super dark mouth, good ear placement and a keen Kerriy Blue expression. Her neck was of good proportion with a nice lay back in shoulder allowing her to cover the ground with ease. Good spring of rib and solid top line and tail placement. Excellent coat and colour. A proper steady showgirl, easy to award her the bitch CC and BOB
