Windsor 25 Judge

IRISH WINDSOR 25 Thank you to all exhibitors for so kindly accepting me as your replacement judge with such good humour and can only feel sorry for Mrs. Seabridge, who was unable to to judge her excellent entry gained by the obvious respect she is held. How lucky I felt besides not having judged the breed since 2016, every dog and exhibitor was new to me. Quality was high, every one with the best of feet and pads with that unique characteristic of heedless restless pluck obvious in many expressions along with a good deal of friendly tail wagging. Thank you too to both my truly wonderful stewards, Gemma Pike and Alex Hill There was such a good atmosphere around the ring with applause for all the placings with not one absentee. VD/B (1) 1 Karau’s Molly’s A Diva. Youthful 9 years old bitch and so very fit in hard muscular condition with well shaped head and eye, good layback of shoulder and strong level topline. Enthusiastic on the move, going especially well in front. BV PD (1) 1 Hancock’s Newguild Rhythm 9 months with a bright alert expression in his dark eyes, if rather upright in shoulder. Good bone and body, moving well behind with time on his side to firm a touch in front. Confident showman with a good attitude. JD (2) 1 Flessner’s Galahad’s Guardian Q’bilee Qoin, 14 months old who scored on layback of shoulder and firm level topline. Well set and carried tail, neat ears and dark expressive eyes. Excellent mover 2 Ryan’s Saradon Runaway. Another very good type with an alert intelligent expression in his dark eyes, in hard muscular condition with good depth of chest, PGD (2) 1 Lee’s Ivyblue Red Moonlight. 20 months and so alert with a good attitude despite the now rising heat, scoring here on layback of shoulder and tail carriage. He moved very well. 2 Lovelace’s Sir of the Lagan with Brazen. 30 months old in mature harsh double coat, preferred his eye shape, just lost out on his longer loin. He too was a good mover. LD (3) 1 Ruffles’ Holbar Midsummer Knight at Ruffmar (ai) JW ShCEx 3 years old the following day and so well balanced and typey. Well shaped head and dark expressive eyes. So good for size, make and shape with excellent topline, shoulders, depth and width of chest with neat feet. Constantly alert with good tailset and carriage, in harsh wiry coat. Neat feet on which he moved extremely well. Gather he already has a CC RCC 2 Thomas & Print’s Bilarny Hotcross Bun. Such a good name for this 2 year old. He too scored in size here with deep chest and firm level back. A very good mover in harsh wiry coat and hard muscular condition. BSB 3 McConnell’s Tootrock Arcturus OD (3) 1 Oliver’s Rufous Gubbeen of Cleeve. A most handsome 2 yr old friendly fellow of excellent size and type, so masculine and mature in body, balance, coat and his attitude to showmanship. Well shaped head with a bright alert expression in his dark eyes and a good beard. He is a joy to handle having all the parts fitting firmly and substantially into the whole, this being obvious in the excellence of his movement holding himself with justifiable pride. CC, his first to add to his 4 RCCs 2 Anderson’s Kerrykeel Damhnaic, same age as the winner in excellent coat with a very serious expression in his well shaped dark eyes and good depth to his chest. Moved well, particularly in front, with non-stop wagging tail. A charming character. RCC to add to his earlier ticket. 3 Richards’ Ch Lodgecroft Singing Master SpB (3) 1 B Hotcross Bun, scoring on layback of shoulder here 2 Bennet & Kennedy’s McFinn’s Betsy Boo, 15 month old bitch of good rich colour and firm level topline with well shaped dark expressive eyes. Just lovely for size and type, make, shape and balance, beautiful head, in the best of coat and hard condition. A charming character and splendid showgirl. Simply a joy to handle and watch on the move demonstrating the very excellence of that movement later in the big ring.
