IRISH JUDGE WINDSOR 16

Irish Terriers

This was the first time I had awarded CCs to the breed. In view of that, the entry was disappointing with just 19 dogs entered & 16 present. I was however particularly pleased with the top winners & the winner of BP.

V (1)

1 Williamson’s Ch Montelle Mi’lady, very good for her 12 years with good flat skull & correct foreface. Coat OK. Moved better behind than in front. Correct length of body. Enough bend of stifle but could do with a bit more second thigh behind.

PD (1)

1 Rundle’s Sidewater Sea Fury, head needs to finish with a shade more under the eye & ears could be carried better at times. Very good in neck with enough length & flowing well into topline. Coat coming in OK. Moved better behind than in front. Enough depth of chest

JD (1)

1 Cooke’s Montelle Carvillius Gold, pleasing overall, outline. Ears could be better, OK in skull & foreface. Good neck & topline. Good rib carried well back. Moved well behind but could be a bit tidier in front movement.

PGD (2,1a)

1 Atkin’s Gengis Khan, OK in neck & topline. Could be a shade narrower in skull & be better in tail carriage. Enough strength of jaw. OK for ears. Could have better pasterns. Good coat. Moved better behind than in front.

LD (1)

1 G Khan.

OD (2)

A pleasing class.

1 Thomas’ Montelle Royal Leader at Sunnystone, he scored in front over 2. Good in skull with the right head proportions & pleasing expression with good eye. Correct ear. Good neck & topline. Enough coat of the right texture. Better in pasterns than 2. Pleasing in underline & good in rib. CC;

2 Howarth’s Mikes Fergus, another with a good neck. OK in head & ears, not quite the topline of the winner standing, but good for size. Well enough muscled behind. RCC.

GC (0).

PB (3,1)

1 Hemmings & Grant’s Courtington Storm Angel, a very pleasing puppy with a good future ahead of her I’m sure. Well balanced & has good breed type & sound movement. Typical in head & skull with good ears & correct eye. Good neck & topline. Coat coming in well for her age. & moving well in front & behind holding her outline well on the move also. Good feet. Went on to be BP & then PG1 later;

2 Taylor’s Woottonwoof Lola, not really very typy at all. Could be better in ears & better in front. OK for coat texture. Needs to show a bit more enthusiasm.

JB (2)

1 Dancer & Hargreaves’ Montelle Sirona Flame, a very good youngster & scored here over 2 for head but could be better in eye. Very good in neck & straight topline. Could behave better. Correct in loin & ribs carried well back. Good coat;

2 Hobson’s Errdwiltsir Irish Bells, good head planes but could be better for expression & OK for coat. Good neck.

PGB (1)

1 Stahlen & Nichols’ Shallcome’s Shenanakins, coat a bit over the top & didn’t stand particularly well in front OK in foreface but could be just a shade narrower in skull. Moved better behind than in front. Racy enough in outline.

LB (4,1)

1 Bower’s Lakeridge Ceallach, a good honest & typical bitch with a pleasing head & expression. Good topline & correct rib. Moved well in front & behind & held her outline pretty well when seen going around the ring. Good coat & correct outline. Enough depth of chest. Went on to win RCC;

2 Ruffles’ Holbam Celtic Whisper at Ruffmar, another pleasing one with good bone & correct feet. Good in rib & underline. Pleasing head. Excellent coat; 3 Moakes’ Kebulak Red Hot in Jomoaka.

OB (2)

1 Barker & Averis’ Irvonhill Leave It To Me, very pleasing in outline & excellent in head properties, with just the right width of skull & good foreface & correct eye. Really good coat of the right harsh texture. Good front & correct pasterns. Good neck set into firm topline. Could have a shade more muscle behind but moved really well both in front & behind. Went on to win the CC & BOB & ended up G2 later in the day;

2 Bamsey’s Ch Holbam Pearly Star, another pleasing bitch with a good neck & shoulder. Could be a shade better in skull. Moved OK behind but could be more positive in front. Coat OK & correct tailset.
