IRISH THREE COUNTIES 25 Judge: Mr M Sanders A pleasing entry of 18 on paper with enough quality to assess. Delighted to hear the ringside appreciation! PD (1) 1 Hancox, Newguild Rhthym, 8 months. Pleasing to go over. Good length in head with strength in foreface. Correct dentition with a clear eye which gives off a keen expression. Ears are ok. Plenty in neck with good ribbing. Topline and tailset correct. He stands on good bone with compact feet. Jacket is harsh. Going away he was positive but needs to tighten in front, this should correct itself in time. JD (1) 1 Walker, Hogan, Horace Hoya, 14 months. Another with plenty to admire all through. Correct in head with strength in foreface. Dark expressive eye. Ears are well placed. Plenty in neck. Ribbing is extended well back to a firm loin. He stands on good bone with compact feet. Jacket was well presented. Again, just needs to come together on the move. PGD (1) 1 Thomas & Print, Bilarny Hotcross Bun, 2 year old. Enough to admire about this one. Fair in head which displays good length with plenty in foreface. Correct in dentition. Eye is dark, ears are acceptable. He is well ribbed with a solid topline. Tailset is correct and he stands on good bone with neat feet. Jacket was well presented and he moved out steadily on the out and back. OD (4,2a) 1 Cooke, Montelle Flash Light to Lionwood, 2 year old. Correct for excellent breed type with that desired “racey outline”. Correct proportions in head which displays good length with strength in foreface. Excellent dentition with a dark expressive eye all topped off with neat well placed ears which he uses to good advantage at all times. His neck flows into a clean front assembly, His ribbing is extended well back to a firm loin. Topline is level which leads to a well set tail. His bone has quality with correct feet. On the out and back he was positive whilst holding a pleasing profile on the go around. Presentation was spot on with a harsh jacket. Pleased to award him BD and BOB. 2 Oliver, Rufus Gubbeen of Cleeve. Enough to admire about this one. Head, eye and expression all good. Ears are ok. Plenty in neck, ribbing is extended well back. Bone and feet correct. Moved out ok on the out and back and was presented in harsh jacket. RBD. VD (1) 1 Nevill, Norakam An Storr at Rosemonelle, 7 year old, pleasing to go over. Correct in head, eye and expression with well placed ears. Good length in neck. Ribbing is ok with a level topline with correct tailset. He stands on quality bone with neat feet. He was presented in good order and moved out ok. PB (1) 1 Karau, Newguild River, 8 months. Quality exhibit to go over, feminine throughout. She is pleasing in head which displays good balance with good dentition. Dark expressive eyes with neat well placed ears. Her neck flows into a clean front assembly with plenty in rib. Her topline is level which leads to a well set tail. On the stack she is “racey” in outline and on the move she was positive on the out and back and her jacket was well presented. Pleased to award her Best Puppy in Breed! PGB (3,2a) 1 Hardman, Pinleygreen Joy. Another exhibit in today’s entry that I judged at the Irish Terrier Association Special Awarded classes last year and my remarks from that day remain the same. She is all Irish Terrier for overall breed type. Head, eye and expression all correct. Neck and topline good. OK in bone with neat feet but yet again i feel she would benefit for carrying a little less body condition but did move out ok on the out and back. OB (4,1a) Three bitches who were different in type! 1 Atkin, Holbam Celtic Rose, 3 year old who stood away for overall breed type throughout. Ultra feminine in head which displays true balance with good strength in foreface with correct dentition. She is clear in eye which gives off a keen expression all topped off with neat well placed ears. Her neck flows into a clean front assembly. Topline is level with excellent ribbing which is carried well back to a firm loin. In profile she is “racey” in outline and on the out and back she displayed good reach and drive. Her jacket was well presented. Pleased to award her Best Bitch. I am now aware that she sits on two CC’s and several Reserves and Champion in waiting I presume! 2 Fitter, Ghyllslap Limerick. A very honest exhibit who is feminine all through. Head, eye and expression all good. Keen in eye with ok ears. Plenty in neck. She is well ribbed and stands on correct bone with compact feet. She moved out steadily on the out and back. Just felt she would benefit from carrying a little less body condition? 3 Case, Kerrykeel Koire Ir Jun Ch. Whilst this exhibit is, no doubting, projecting an image of an Irish Terrier. Head eye and expression all correct, on the stack she is balanced and her coat texture is harsh, I was bothered with her tail carriage. To quote your breed standard “carried gaily but not over back or curled” which she does, hence spoiling her outline on the go around, and whilst moving away she was not positive at all. VB (2) 1 Atkin, Ch Holbam Celtic Summer, ShCm ShCex VW 9 years young. A worthy title holder of good merit. Good length in head which feminine. Excellent dentition. Clear in eye with ok ears. Her neck flows into a clean front assembly with good ribbing. Firm in topline which leads to a well set tail. She stands on good bone with neat compact feet. On the stack she is “racey” in outline and moved out well on the out and back. Reserve Best Bitch. Just touched off by her stable companion! 2 Karau, Balirolyat Mollys A Diva, Eight and a half year old. Has most of the winners overall qualities. Correct for fair breed type. Head, eye and expression all good. She is well ribbed and stands on good bone with neat feet. Moving out soundly and was well presented. Martin Sanders |
